#4 Your Perspective, God’s Perspective?
Series on the End Times, The Revelation & Christ’s Return
Can you know the hour when Christ returns? I am sure you can if you are doing His will! Revelation offers that assurance to His Church but there are conditions to knowledge and protection. John wrote those conditions in Revelation and if you do not have the attributes God requires then you will not know the hour, day or season.
In America we have many prophetic voices telling us what is about to happen. I am not a prophet and prophets are to judge prophets, Paul says in the Epistles. Paul gave us teaching for prophetic voices to judge each other and keep things orderly, truthful, and inline with Scriptures. When this does not happen, as is the case in present America, we will not know what is correct or in error, a truth or a lie.
Furthermore, the church can never know the truth if the church is not keeping the requirements set down by John in Revelation. The prophetic words will never be correct—they will always be ‘false prophecies’. If the church in America is not keeping God’s commandments as stated in Revelation chapters 2 & 3 then God will not be speaking to us (His Church) for we will be unable to hear—it is just that simple! Obey God and then God will help you—that is the basic rule of Revelation. ‘Obedience’ is what you have to be doing for God to keep you during tribulation, from temptation in the last days, and knowing the Hour of his coming (note: one hour could be as a thousand hours to God—just like a day).
Let’s review what I wrote in #3 The Message to the Churchregarding Revelation:
1. You must have your first love; if not then you must repent, and do your first works vs. 2:4-5.
2. You must not fear persecution nor be unfaithful unto death vs. 2: 10.
3. You must not obey the doctrines of Balaam or Nicolaitanes or allow Jezebel to teach you anything vs. 2: 14-15.
4. Do not commit fornication by allowing and justifying sexual life styles to be part of your belief/acceptance values system (allowing it is the same as doing it according to Revelation) vs. 2:20.
5. You must watch and pray—being worried and concerned is not watching, and praying ought to be prayers of repentance for yourself and others vs. 3:3.
6. You need to identify those who say they are Christians but are not. There are so many people in America that say ‘I am a Christian’ but they have no works or fruit that affirms who they say they are vs. 3:9.
7. You need to be cold or hot—where is your passion for Christ? vs. 3:15.
8. You cannot allow anything to be your idol, i.e., to allow a person, group, organization, government, philosophy, or anything else make your decisions or be dependent on these things to survive. We look to our government to do too much for us—there are idols everywhere in America and the ‘American Dollar’ drives most of our idols.
If you are part of any of the warnings Christ has given to the church then God is only removing your candlestick—He is not helping you nor will He be speaking to you. As long as the Church in America abides in its sin, does not repent and change its ways, there will be no true prophetic words. You will never know the hour, be kept in the ‘time of temptation’, nor free from tribulation. In short, you will never know or understand Revelation. You must listen to Revelation (that is what the Bible says), you must repent and change your ways, you cannot be looking to anything or depending on anything but Christ (no idols), and you cannot accept anything that is not sexually pure and according to Scripture.
Remember to God, there is no middle ground in the last days! This is the time of repentance, this is the time for change, this is the time for keeping God’s commandments—let’s get ready by getting our lives righteous before Him. To hear His voice knocking at our door is the first step in walking perfect before Him!
