#9 America and Its Church

Is there any church mentioned in Revelation that typifies America’s religious people? I believe there is—Thyatira. It is so similar it is scary.

Only a few people will tell what really goes on in our nation’s capital. Our system is completely corrupt and most politicians do not look to God to make decisions but rather vote for bills that support ‘only what is in it for them’. There is no help for America outside of repentance and turning to Christ—do not look to politicians for help.

God blames the church for the conditions within America. If the church would be a New Testament Church, God would not be speaking judgment against her. We allow Jezebel to tempt and force us to honor idols of gold and silver (money and earthly wisdom). We say that any type of sexual sin is OK—its’ teaching is all around us. God has been killing our children by allowing us to use ‘abortion on demand’ and will soon judge us, not solely on what we do, but also what we think and how we make our decisions. There is no escape! (Read Revelation 2:18-29)

The only bright hope is what God says to ‘church members’ that have kept themselves pure—they do not use the doctrine of Jezebel, commit fornication, or have idols in their lives. God says He will not place any other burden on us other than “hold fast till I come.”

Christ is coming to the church in America with “eyes like unto a flame of fire and his feet are like fine brass.” “Eyes of fire”—He sees everything and convicts us of our sin and “his feet as brass” which is His judgment—trampling on us, there is no hiding from Him. There will come a time when nothing we do will bring back what America has lost, i.e., what God originally gave to us out of His mercy and great grace. A revival has to come to America and it has to start with us before it is too late.

If we are faithful, if we ‘keep-on’, if we refuse to be part of the sins of America then God will allow us to ‘judge the nations’, and we will be ‘given the morning star’.

’Even so, come, Lord Jesus!’
