I John 1:7, "If we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship one with another."

If we have the mind of Christ as the Word teaches, why then is there so much division? Do you ever just get irritated with a brother or sister because you just don’t see it the same way? When I was newly married I would go to family Sunday dinners and we knew not to talk theology, politics, and God forbid that we would talk about Eschatology, which would ruin our Sunday afternoon. We are all so opinionated even when it came to the Essentials of the Faith. I knew that anger does not produce the righteousness of God James 1:20. So I have learned to keep my mouth shut. This is sometimes good, sometimes not.

The problem was that we all felt we had a handle on end-time events, or we were judging the motives of each other, or what is happening now in the upcoming election.

Proverbs 25:26 talks about a muddied stream, and First Corinthians talks about seeing through a glass darkly. As I meditated the other day on these verses, I felt I heard the Lord say, the reason for so much confusion is so many of us are living in the Twilight. It is as if one foot is in the night and one foot is in the light. It’s like a no man’s land where there is a lack of clarity, a lack of hearing of what God is saying and doing. The end result is that it produces uncertainty and confusion.

A friend once said to me that predators hunt most often when the light is dim, such as the early morning or the beginning of the evening. The reason for this is there is a lot of camouflage at these times, and if we are not in the light of His Presence we can be caught in some form of deception, because of a lack of clarity in what God is saying. Even though we think we can see, the predator can see us but we cannot see it. Jesus referenced this problem in the Gospels, “Having eyes but not able to see.”

Everyone seems to have an opinion! May we all ask God what is He saying! We must be sensitive and open to the Spirit of the Lord. This only happens as we quiet our soul, and say, "Speak Lord your servant is listening" I. Samuel 3:9.
