If His People Would Not Tempt God…
Prophetic Teaching #1, 2017 & Beyond
Jesus said, ‘Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.” God takes it seriously if you believe in Him and yet tempt Him. The second temptation of Christ by Satan was to get Christ to tempt God. I see people all the time tempting God, what a mistake! It is almost as if no one considers that they could even tempt God or the Spirit of God. Church, it is time wake up and exercise wisdom!
Satan tries to get us to either seduce God to do things our way or that it does not matter to God, i.e., we believe that God does not care what we do in a particular situation if it is reasonable. Wisdom says: It always matters to God when Satan shows up. All of life is a decision: is God right or is Satan right? What will you decide? Where does your loyalty lie? Choose this day—either God or yourself!
Jesus chose humility over being important. When Satan is offering advice, you can count on it being wrong. We can either accept our wisdom or God’s wisdom. God’s wisdom is ‘keep doing what the Spirit of God has told you to do until God says otherwise’.
Doing the will of God is critical but often it is ‘the easy way out’ that we choose. “I am hunger, tired, thirsty, and just plain worn out!” We can always make up our mind to undo the will of God. Besides, God will take care of us, “I am important to God so He will take care of me no matter what I choose.” These two lines of thinking (or speaking) is tempting God.
If Jesus had failed the second temptation, the next temptation would not have been needed. Are you giving up? Do things seem hopeless? Is God’s plan for your life just too hard to manage? Is your pride so great you disregard the simple will of God? All of us have all felt like this many times.
“If anyone lacks wisdom (the book of James says) let him ask of God.” Wisdom is the only gift or attribute of God that identifies and defines what evil is. Without wisdom you cannot know what evil is. So how many of you are exercising wisdom to know evil or its counterpart, the will of God? You cannot know one without the other—wisdom shows you the difference (this is why Proverbs was written).
I am amazed that often believers think they are smart enough and their reasoning sound enough so they can deviate from the will of God. Let me be frank, God wants His will to be done all the time. You cannot be God’s counselor, God knows best.
I can tell you that if God’s will is not done in the little things in your life—the simple and non-important things, then I am sure you will fail in the life changing events that will confront your life. Our nation’s election in 6 days is a prime example of either your will or God’s will being done. What is your choice? How are you praying? Are you smarter than God?
I can tell you with all surety that if God’s choice of elected officials are not elected during this election cycle, we, as Christians, will be suffering such bondage as has never been imaged or ever seen in America. The tragedies that are approaching America over the next few years will take courageous and God appointed individuals in our Houses of Government just to keep things operational. If we do not seek and secure God’s will in November then what is coming upon America will impact Christians so severely that we will be ‘racing to catch up’. I am not making this us, hard times are coming and God wants to help. For myself, I rather be living in peace and prosperity than in confusion and financially ruined. (More to come about all of this.)
Have wisdom! Allow God’s will to be done! May God have mercy on America! Choose God by choosing God’s will. It is better to have obedience than sacrifice with brokenness. God has spoken, may the Church have ears to hear and not choose to tempt our Lord.
