It’s as easy as 1,2,3!

Every Where I Turn

It would be nice to be able to hear God’s voice, to have God’s face in front of us all the time, and to have the presence of the Lord with us and moving through us at any given moment of time. Yes, you can have these character traits in Christ. He promised them and gives them to us for the asking. Do not be afraid, God wants to have you close to Him and to be successful in Him. You can trust Him for this.

I keep reading about ‘Words from the Lord’ from many different religious leaders. They are expressing hope and the promise of God helping us in the coming year. I am excited and yet cautious. God has stirred the hearts of our leaders and I am hoping that each of us become stirred as well. Remember, God does His part and we must do our part—it is a partnership!

This first step of ‘God in us’ is our ability to looking for God to ‘show up’. I like to be surprised by God and am always looking for Him to ‘catch me off guard’. While I was not expecting God to move in a given situation He did anyway. I am grateful that He loves me no matter what—it is like a surprise birthday gift when I am not looking for God yet He impacts my life.

Second step, God is always asking me to believe a little more deeply each day. Do not fall to the temptation that once you have believed in God, that now, that is all you need to do. Believing is a growth process, we must believe more deeply and more strongly than how we believed yesterday in God. We need to tell God we believe in Him each day and reach for something more about God to believe Him for today.

Third step (three simple attributes), I try to find ways to routinely connect with God and often these are ways that take little effort on my part. Having Christian music being played in the background—this helps my thought processes stay at peace and my spirit calm; listening to Scriptures read to me even though I am not paying attention to each verse being said—my ability to believe more greatly increases when I do this; and lastly, being grateful for the little and big things that happen to me during the day—being grateful/thankful for people and events that I am connected too allows God to work in the lives and situations of others and keeps Satan at a distance.

You want hope this year and God to make you successful in your walk with Him, then partner with Him. It is often the little things you do that catches God attention and moves His heart to watch over you. You can trust Him!
