The Inauguration
Well, the Inauguration is done and the journey begins. My love, for everyone no matter what your political persuasion, goes unabated. This will probably be my last post on this topic.
I started over 2 years ago praying for the will of God to be done in this election. I really liked Ben Carson; I even donated to election committee because of the gentleness of his spirit and integrity. I also like Senator Rubio, he seemed so informed, and a course many others seemed like wonderful sincere people. Eventually it came down to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and a businessman Donald Trump. I could find many reasons not to vote for either of them.
So as a last resort I turned to Prayer, asking God who might be most susceptible to His influence. This is a very difficult prayer, because we all come with out prejudices based on what these candidates have said or not said. It appeared there was great fury in the land, such strong opinions. Many of these opinions I felt; God forgive me if I’m wrong, did not reflect "The heart of the Father." It seemed to me there was very little room for forgiveness, and eventually I was reminded by God, "That with the judgment I judge, I would be judge" Matthew 7:2.
More than anything else, I want to find mercy for myself and others. I am well aware of my own shortcomings. I respected the prophetic voices in the land and what they were saying, but as mature Christian, ‘and I hope God puts me in that category,’ that I would get quiet and listen. I hope I was then and am listening now!
This is what I know for sure! "With the merciful I will show myself merciful." Psalms 18. I also know that "His ways are not my ways." Isaiah 55:9. In Isaiah 55:8 "God lifts up one and brings down another."
This post is not meant to litigate the last 2 years, but merely to suggest that we give Donald Trump a chance, a honeymoon as the Press speaks of, and see what might happen. Can we believe God for His will to be done?
None of us at least I believe may have the full of mind of God, for the Scripture says, "We prophesy in part." I. Corinthians 13:9 One thing I know we can agree on! Can we pray for our leaders, can we pray for God’s visitation on America?
