What’s Missing?
“The fruit of the Spirit is…” Ephesians 5:9
It is sad to know that things are getting worse on the earth. We hear of doom and destruction in almost every media broadcast. I understand that in the last days two scenarios will take place—God’s great grace will be poured out upon all who live on this planet, as well as, God’s judgment and Satan performing his works of deception.
I was told by pastors of long ago that lived through WW1 and WW2 that significant changes happened throughout the world during both wars. In WW1 a Spirit of Love left the earth. They stated that before WW1 people could love and forgive more easily but after the war people could not feel nor depend on a spirit of Love (a fruit of love) from the Holy Spirit to help and guide them.
During and after WW2 a spirit of Peace (fruit of peace from the Holy Spirit) was no longer noticeable in the earth. We all know that since WW2 the world has not been at peace. There has always been wars taking place somewhere in the world. It is as if God took His Spirit of Peace from the earth.
The United Nations was created after WW1 but it has not deterred wars. In fact, wars have become more frequent and intense since WW1. It is God alone who controls the fate of man and regulates what takes place on the earth. Biblical prophecy is being fulfilled as we live. God is not mocked nor is His Word, the Bible.
I have noticed more and more that another Scripture is being fulfilled, “The love of many shall grow cold.” I notice and feel the absence of love in my daily activities with fellow men. People who once showed love demonstrate less love. People are more concerned with themselves rather than how to care for and show kindness to others.
The media through advertising tries to convince people to offer kindness and random acts or kindness to others/strangers, but it is not working. The world is not getting better, but rather hate not love seems to be the primary focus of our generation.
We are missing the Fruit of the Spirit in our daily activities, Galatians 5: 22-23: “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance; against such there is no law.” We must teach ourselves, our children, and others that the only way for kindness to be manifested in our generation is through Jesus Christ and the operation and manifestation of the Fruit of the Spirit.
