I rather be remembered…

I Rather Be Remembered…

I rather be remembered by not what I have done but what I did not become.

ü I rather be remembered as a nobody than to have my name on a building or a street named after me.

ü I rather be a non-person than a person of significance and influence.

ü I want to be considered a person who found great mercy in Christ than be remembered for all the kind deeds or the amazing works the Holy Spirit accomplished through me.

ü I do not want to be remembered as a writer, an educator, a businessperson or a visionary, but a person who found Jesus as his friend.

ü I do not seek a detailed list of accomplishments but only remembered for giving a helping hand to a person who could not help himself.

ü I rather be persecuted, accused of wrongdoing, lied about me in order to cause me harm, and having a ruined and murky reputation than being thought of as a person of stature and strong character.

ü I rather be hated by most people than having friends of immoral and corrupt behavior.

ü I rather be remembered me saying, “I am not a good man—who can be good if Jesus is your standard.”

ü I do not want to be remembered as being smart or clever, tall and handsome, or a hard worker and determined, but that I was a person who merely tried to do his best while failing so many times in my efforts.

ü I do not need a fancy headstone or grassy plot when I die, but just say, “Jesus was building this man a home in heaven the moment he was born-again.”

ü Yes, I rather Jesus be remembered—my name is unimportant.

What would Jesus want me to do?
