Wise Men Still Seek Him
Article #7 Christmas 2018
Where’s My Hope?
We are often in such turmoil that we cannot find nor recognize hope when it is right in front of us. We struggle in our blindness and it is the darkness that seems to fill our every thought while despair steals any ray of hope from piercing our souls.
Those days are over for anyone who can believe in Jesus Christ. If we would tell our soul to worship the Lord and reach out to the Father with our soul, hope will not only come like a flood into your life but it will change the circumstances that have caused you to be imprisoned.
Without hope, we are indeed lost and loneliness has become our personal prison. I can tell you with sincerity and with great truthfulness that Christ has heard your prayers and hope will not only come in the songs you sing to the Father but in your dreams, visions, and acts of compassion you give freely to others.
How can this be true, you ask? I am looking for hope from God but do not see it. There is disappointment and failure all around me. I can tell you with assurance that when we use and command our soul to reach out to God, God replies with urgency and power. God knows that it is our soul that needs hope and without Him rescuing our soul we are like ‘dead men walking’.
Satan knows that it is your soul that centers around your life in Christ. He attacks your soul whenever he can, and seeks only to destroy you from the inside out. Here are some truths and steps you can take to turn your darkness into light and hope.
One, tell God “my soul needs hope and salvation—God save my soul.”
Two, speak to your own soul as David did to his and remind your soul to “Praise the Lord.” It is in praise and worship that your soul finds strength. Turn on Christian music that causes your soul to “leap within you.”
Three, Discover the Scriptures (specific Bible verses) that speak about your soul and how important it is. Claim these promises; say these verses out-loud to yourself. Say them to yourself while you look at yourself in the mirror. Do not be shy but allow the words of God promises travel from your voice to your ears into your soul.
Four, wait with expectancy for hope to raise your soul from the depths of hell that has entrapped it. Hope will arise in your life and your soul will become alive with joy, ready to serve Jesus Christ.
“Awake o my soul, arise to praise the Lord. It is the Lord who is my hope and joy. It is the Lord who alone will redeem my soul so I may dwell in the House of the Lord forever.”
