Living in Love

The Series, God’s Love…Living In & Operating with Love

Hate seems to be fashionable today. Jesus warned us about not staying in God’s love. Hate is the opposite of love in so many ways. We have been programmed to hate, especially by today’s media. People are made fun of, ridiculed, belittled, and made to be seen as ugly and stupid. Hate does nothing but hides the truth and creates bitterness and jealousy toward the ones we are told to hate.

Jesus said to love your enemies, bless your enemies, and pray for and give to your enemies. Hate creates a divide between you and others. If you hate others, you really are hating yourself and stopping the potential to heal relationships and not allowing forgiveness to flow into the lives of people who need help and wholeness.

We must begin to live in a state of love. Love must become our purpose for living. Love is all we truly have that will stop hate, bring justice, and heal our broken spirit.

Operating in love is a challenge. The world, Satan, and so many religions want you to hate. It is easy to hate and often difficult to love others, especially when they do not want to be loved by the love of God in you.

We cannot love on our own. Human natural love falls short in so many ways. It has no power to change lives and cannot endure against spiritual wickedness. It is only God’s love that makes any difference in this world.

To love others begins with loving oneself, and you cannot love yourself unless you allow God’s love to come inside your heart—which changes one’s heart, then you can love and forgive yourself as God loves you. Only now can you love others, forgive others, bless others, and help others—Jesus does this for us and in us and then we can do this to others.

Hate has no place in a Christian’s life and love is all we need to begin to change this world. I like a couple of secular songs that exemplify the importance of love. “It’s gonna take a Lotta Love” by Nicolette Larson and “Long Train Runnin” by the Doobie Brothers—“without love, where would you be now?”

We must protect our love for God and His love for us. We must bathe our lives in prayers asking for the love of Christ—’praying in the Spirit’ the Bible says. Always looking for love in all we do and allow the love of God to be manifested through us in everything we do. Love, not hate, should be in our language, not allowing the language of hate to enter any of our conversations.

Love forgives, love heals, love gives purpose, love knows no boundaries, love seeks only good, and love will bring Christ back—His second coming. It is His love in us that does all of this!
