The Holy Spirit and Me

November 11, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

The Holy Spirit Does Not Forget

The Holy Spirit is part of the Trinity of God—He is that important! But often we do not let Him do His Job. We have simplified His importance and duties within the Body of Christ. God forgives all sin but refuses to forgive sins against the Holy Spirit (remember the story of Ananias and Sapphira in the 5th chapter of Acts). When one sins against the Holy Spirit, God does not take this lightly. I must allow the Holy Spirit to do His work in me and others.

It is the job of the Holy Spirit to “convict/cleanse the world of sin”—that’s you and me and everyone else. Sin has brought all that is wrong in this world. This is why Jesus came to rid us of our sin so we might have a relationship with God. It is just that simple!

Judgment is coming and has begun against whoever sins and are refusing to repent. The pattern in how the Holy Spirit works is the conviction of sin, the restoration of righteousness and then on to judgment. One’s rejection of God’s forgiveness and refusing to allow and accept His righteousness guiding our lives only leads to judgment. What a sad scenario.

A few days ago, the Holy Spirit began working on unconfessed sin in my life. He does this often in my life and at times it may continue for weeks—I never know. However, this time He moved from me to others. He began showing me their sin and asking me to intercede for them. I began confessing their sin and asking God to forgive them—this lasted for days.

I do not know why people do not recognize their sin or are unable to confess their sin so to find forgiveness and freedom from sin that has a hold on their lives. There are all kinds of sin and many different ways to find freedom from sin through forgiveness. We must not only continue in a state of repentance and brokenness (as David said, “God’s mercies are new every morning”), but we must be in a state of constant mourning for the sins of others.

We find examples of this in the Old Testament and instructions within the New Testament. We must pick up our cross daily, as Jesus said. This cross is bearing the burdens of others whatever they may be—their bondage to Satan, their bondage to sin, and their bondage to sickness and pain. Jesus did this for you and me and we are to do this for others. We must care for others, but we can only do this with the Holy Spirit working in our lives and through our lives.

Here are some of the sins that I was interceding for others; praying that God forgives and delivers them from these overwhelming sins.

ü Fear and worry—Satan wants us to be in a constant state of worry and confusion.

ü Your typical 10 commandments sins, seeking freedom sin’s bondage by not getting release from the hold of these sins on their lives.

ü Never receiving the joy of their salvation and being a Christian; while always looking to what is wrong in this world.

ü The sin of thinking that they do not have enough money or things in order to be content and safe.

ü Being critical of God, the Body of Christ, and not being in the Unity of the Holy Spirit.

ü For not taking a stand against Satan—it is our job each day to fight the good fight of faith—to be ready and willing to fight against darkness no matter where we encounter evil.

ü For compromising our faith—keeping one foot in the Kingdom of God and the other in the kingdom of earth. With God one must be all in—no compromises or the mixing of earthly wisdom with Godly wisdom.

I want to encourage everyone to mourn for others—to intercede for others. Just as Jesus and the Holy Spirit intercedes for us, we must intercede for others. We must cry out to God for mercy and forgiveness. We must cry out often and our intercession must not just come from out heart and mind but from our soul.

It must be intercession of strength, purity, and with great emotion. This is the kind of mourning that comes to me—I cry not just for myself but for others. Yes, I cry for others. I cry with tears flowing, I cry as if their freedom depends on me helping them.

Jesus loves me—I must love others. This is what Jesus would want me to do.

From repentance to fire

October 27, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

I Heard the Lord say, “Get ready for rain!”!

Words cannot express how grateful I am to the Lord. We now have agreement and the Holy Spirit is bringing unity to what the Lord is about to do. I, indeed, am ready! I want the Waters and Spirit from Heaven to flood over my life and fulfill what Jesus has promised.

“There is a war, a very ancient war, between the spirit of Elijah and the spirit of Jezebel. In this age-old battle, Elijah represents the interests of Heaven: the call to repentance and the return to God. Jezebel, on the other hand, represents that unique principality whose purpose is to hinder the deep work of God in the Church.” Francis Frangipane, 2019.

"For America is not Sodom and Gomorrah," says the Lord, "but Nineveh, and she will turn to the Lord and see another awakening wave of revival sweep across the country. The enemy secretly schemed, plotted, manipulated and manufactured a plan to stop My word from coming to pass, but all of his plans will crumble to the ground, and I will show Myself strong in My people in the coming.” Charlie Shamp, 2019.

“For the last year or so, the Lord has been speaking to me about the fear of the Lord being restored to the Church, which has led me to believe the fear of the Lord will be and is being restored to the Church in this new era. Recently I heard the Lord say, "A WAVE OF TRAVAIL is about to crash into the Church." The Lord then showed me that this wave of travail is going to prepare the way for the fear of the Lord to be restored back to the Church. The travail is already being felt in the Body of Christ, but it is going to significantly increase as this wave crashes in. I heard the Lord say, "My people are going to weep over sin again, which will usher in the greatest move of holiness we have ever seen.” Lana Vawser, 2019.

As you speak forth the name of Jesus over this land, the winds will blow, and awakening will sweep through America. With intense anger, the Judge (Jesus) rose to His feet, pointed at my accuser, and said, "Because you (Satan) put him under witchcraft you will be held guilty for his crimes, and must repay sevenfold what you stole" (Proverbs 6:31). True repentance is a change of mind that happens as a result of real revelation. AWAKENING WILL SWEEP THROUGH AMERICA.” Andrew Whalen, 2019.

Everything God does, He verifies & affirms with two to three witnesses. As I have written about in past articles: about the next great awakening of America, the winds of heaven blowing across out land, the revival in LA (speaking to the dry bones), and many more acts of God working through His Holy Spirit is about to take place. The time has come—this year (2020) is the year from the Lord.

Repentance and a spirit of forgiveness is about to take place in America that will usher in the moving of the Holy Spirit. God is about to do what He did before His Son’s ministry on earth. Repentance must come first and then the activity of the Holy Spirit. All of this must take place for us to have the Fear of the Lord. What is the fear of the Lord? It is us saying, “God whatever your do, however tragic it is; God everything you do is always right and just! Therefore, I fear you and welcome your hand of judgment.”

I am telling the prophets and teachers and preachers this word from the Lord, “It is not what you say that is important but what you do with what the Lord gives you! You must make this happen.” I do not honor anyone who only says what is about to happen but those who command it to happen.

As I have been told by the Lord “to speak to the winds of heaven and to prophesy what the Lord has given me—to command it to happen”, so also must all who are given a ‘word from the Lord’. We must not walk away, but we must experience what we say. Repentance starts with us first. There must be a spirit of repentance and forgiveness in our lives, our homes, our families, and our churches. Repentance so great and so sincere as is stated in Zechariah 12:10-14: Yes, they will mourn for Himas one mourns forhisonlyson and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.11 In that day there shall be a greatmourning in Jerusalem, like the mourning at Hadad Rimmon in the plain ofMegiddo.12 And the land shall mourn, every family by itself: the family of the house of David by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of the house ofNathan by itself, and their wives by themselves;13 the family of the house of Levi by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of Shimei by itself, and their wives by themselves;14 all the families that remain, every family by itself, and their wives by themselves.

This is ‘the repentance’ that brings the fire of heaven, just as the baptism of water brought the ministry of Jesus—the ministry of miracles, healing, light, and judgment. This is the operation of the Holy Spirit bringing the Kingdom of Heaven to earth—a fire that burns.

Get ready for crying! Get ready for purity and holiness! Get ready for freedom and the removal of guilty! Get ready for liberty and the protection of heaven like you have never experienced before. Get ready for Christ’s return! Yes, get ready for the fire of the Holy Spirit that Jesus told His disciples that would come. We must be baptized with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

California’s Future

September 30, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

California’s Dry Bones

I live in California; what a mess it is! Oh, it has a great coastline, wonderful mountains, and lots of activities for families. One can be at the coast one day and in the high Sierras the next and there is no state that has better weather than the ‘golden state’.

Yet, we have politicians that run the state who are the most self-centered individuals that one could find anywhere. These politicians think that they set the standards for the rest of the nation. Many are prideful and ego centric. Their very presence often offends me, and their motives are questionable. (You know why we have a homeless problem; it is because of the high cost of living and the acceptance by the Church of lifestyles that destroy people’s lives and keeps them in bondage to evil.)

Did you know that California’s four large influential groups are part of the top five donors to the Democratic Party—Hollywood, Television/Media, Gay Movement, and the Technology Industry. California controls what the DNC does; it is not the common person, as the controlling media would like you to believe. The media thinks that it alone elects political officials. These groups control what the media proclaims and therefore how people decide what/who to vote for in state elections.

California’s politicians are very upset, not because Trump is President, but because they no longer have ‘Washington D.C. cash flow’ into their state. Yes, they want money and lots of it, and they use the excuse that they have the largest population of the 50 states so to demand more money. Their flow of money has been diminished and they hate this—they want everyone’s tax dollars. (CA, NY, NJ & ILL make the decisions for democrats.)

Politics has always been about money, and of course, people getting what they want—whatever they desire and the money to buy it. Hollywood, Television/Media, Gay Movement, and the Technology Industry has corrupted our country more than any other group (or groups) in America. (They respond to their god alone—the anti-Christ.)

Hollywood makes sure whatever laws that are passed in Sacramento, that laws support their lifestyles and their ability to make money. Sacramento is corrupt, and we all know it but cannot do much about it. California is setting the stage and has become the foundation for God’s judgment of America, but God is offering mercy before judgement.

California has one last chance in the coming years, i.e. to respond to what God is about to do in the state or suffer the consequences of their politics and culture. Our state’s politicians do not ‘Fear the Lord’ nor do they think that God will do anything about their destructive behavior. (It is easy to see the ‘mark of the beast’ in their lives.)

The Bible states what God will do, and God is never mocked. God, indeed, is listening to what you say and sees what you do, California. There is nothing hid from God and God does get angry. If the Church does not confront the evil within our state, then God alone will handle the situation and we will become part of the receiving end of His judgment. We must pray for our leaders by proclaiming repentance and forgiveness to a culture that promotes darkness. California needs forgiveness that changes what we do and how we treat each other. We are in a battle, and we must choose to fight! (Our fight is against everything that exalts itself against Jesus Christ.)

Do not let the media decide for you; instead allow God to transform California as He has done in the past. It is Jesus alone who is our hope and peace. We do not need another law that pits one group against another as California’s politicians have done in the past. Rather, be the light that shines in darkness—this is what Jesus would expect of His children.

Let’s fight the “good fight of faith” as Paul commanded every believer to do. It is time to look, expect, and see by faith the dry bones of past revivals to rise to life again with the breath of heaven’s winds. It is time for the past ‘Godly revivals of California’ to rise again, even from the historical past, performing the works of the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit and only the Holy Spirit that destroys the works of the devil. This is what Jesus wants us to do! (Read and believe, Ezekiel 37)

“The hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest. Again, he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus, saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live.”

This is God’s army—His Spirit working in the lives of His people who have been given life in order to destroy the works of darkness!

Rosh Hashanah

September 29, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

The Call for Repentance

(from Capitol Hill Prayer Partners)

Tonight, at sundown, Jews around the world will observe Rosh Hashanah – the Jewish New Year, and the beginning of the Ten Days of Awe, leading into the fall feasts. Rosh Hashanah is ushered in with the sound of the Shofar.

Rosh Hashanah is a time of realigning, a time to reset and start again. Rosh Hashanah is followed by Yom Kippur, The Day of Atonement, which will fall on October 8 this year.

Throughout these holy days, the shofar plays an important part in these fall feasts.

It is blown four different times and each time is for a different purpose.

The first shofar is blown on the first morning of Rosh Hashanah and it is a call to AWAKEN our hearts to the Lord.

The second shofar is blown on the second morning of Rosh Hashanah and it is a call to RETURN to the Lord.

The third Shofar is blown on Yom Kippur and it is a call to REPENT.

The fourth Shofar is blown to begin the Feast of Tabernacles and it is a call to REJOICE.

Let us each set our hearts to "hear" the sounds of the four shofars, and to move through these next ten days accordingly: from AWAKENING, to RETURNING to the Lord, to REPENTANCE, and to REJOICING at the goodness of our God.

Shalom . . . shalom . . . shalom . . . and amen!

The Lord says, “Now is the day for repentance. Today is always the day for forgiveness.”

A new book, The Case for the Holy Spirit

September 17, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

The Case for the Holy Spirit

I am finishing up a book on Proverbs. It is almost done and hopefully will be to the publisher before the Holiday Season. However, I am presently also working on another book called, “The Case for the Holy Spirit.” The Lord also asked me to write this book but with a twist. I am soliciting members within the Body of Christ to write a short story about the Holy Spirit working in their lives regarding their personal walk with the Lord. Anyone can submit their story, but the story has to illustrate the importance of the Holy Spirit. Here are some guidelines for submitting your story:

1. Your personal story about the Holy Spirit should be between 2 to 5 pages in length.

2. You must reference the Bible with either Scripture(s), writing specifically about the Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost) and/or refer to a Bible story that references the Holy Spirit.

3. Your story has to be personal and narrows in on some aspect or operation of the Holy Spirit. It would be good if you can directly reference the Fruits and/or the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

4. You story has to be “moving”. It should elevate the need for one to have the Holy Spirit working in their life!

5. Remember, the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity of God. He should be given reverence and honor.

6. I do not care if you are young or old, nor what denomination you belong too, or what ethnic background you are. You need only have a story that should be told.

You can email me your story (steve) or mail me a copy to PO Box 1517, Lebec, CA 93243. I will edit your writing if needed and if your story is accepted as one of the 30 stories about the Holy Spirit, I will make sure you see the final draft before it goes to the publisher. You will also have to submit a ‘short bio’ about yourself, which will be at the end of your story.

I am hoping to send this book to my publisher during the spring of 2020, so please consider and pray about your part in this book. This book should come from the Body of Christ, not just one person. This book is #2 in a series of books (a total of 4) that God has requested that I get published.

God is about to do many new things within His Body (the Church) and we all need to do our part in order to see that the Kingdom of God is proclaimed in this world. Hope to hear from you soon and please contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely, Dr. Steven J. Wentland

Light & Darkness

September 8, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

Light & Darkness

Turning the switch on—all the time

Have you ever been in a forest when there was absolutely no light? I have; it was so dark you could not see where to walk. In our forests far from city lights, when there is a cloud cover over us, not allowing light to shine from the stars or moon, it is so dark it is scary.

Darkness is real. Those of you who have experienced darkness understand the power of darkness. It stymie’s us to the point of inability to do anything. This is how darkness works. It stops us from any sort of action. Without light overcoming darkness we would not exist because we could not live—no light, no life.

Jesus told us to be as lights in a dark world. We must allow out light to shine and dispel darkness. It is a command; a law from Christ.

However, we have control over the light within us. We can keep it ‘on’ or turn it ‘off’. So many church going Christians allow their light to shine when it is convenient for them. When they go to church or meet with other Christians their light shines. They are only religious when it is to their advantage or for personal reasons.

You are no good to God when you control the light within you. Your light is to shine all the time. I suggest you keep your hand away from the light switch that controls your light. Do not dim your light and do not turn it off. Rather, be an ‘on fire’; a ‘light producing Christian’ all the time.

If you light does not shine, Jesus said you are ‘good for nothing’ and the world will trample you to death. God will not judge you, but people will destroy you (Matthew 5:12-16).

Be a world changer and people motivator by being a light produce. Let the ‘fire of God’ light up your life, thereby becoming different and unique because the fire of God lights up your life. It is just that simple—fire produces light. This is the Holy Spirit and Fire within us lighting up the world!

The Unknown Sins

September 3, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

The Unknown Sins

The Role of the Holy Spirit

We all have sin and our sin can do a good job of hiding. It is not uncommon to not know when or how we have sinned against God or anyone person. We often sin not knowing we have sinned. Of course, some sin is obvious and yet there are somethings sins we do not recognize, neither the circumstances of how we have sinned against God or people.

It is the “unknown sins” that only the Holy Spirit can bring too light. This is why we need the Holy Spirit and understand how He works in the lives of those who receive His activity in their lives.

Jesus said in 16:7-11, “And When he (the Comforter) is come, he will reprove the world of sin and righteousness and judgement.” Jesus wanted us to know what the job of the Holy Spirit (the Comforter) would be. Why, so we would recognize the Holy Spirit’s activity. As we know from Scripture and personal experiences, we know that we can hamper the active of the Holy Spirit.

Often, and I do mean often, we do not recognize that it is the Holy Spirit trying to convict us of sin; sin we do not recognize as sin. I am not talking about how the world tries to ‘lay a guilt trip on us’ but real sin that God does not like. This is the ‘unknown sins’ that exist in our lives.

It is the ‘unknown sins’ that the Holy Spirit is trying to root out of our lives—our heart, soul, spirit, and mind. Sin is complicated and it is multi-facet. Sin can hide in our lives so easily that we do not recognize its existence.

Jesus wants us clean and forgiven in every aspect of our being. We must become sensitive to what the Holy Spirit is saying to us and respond to him with true repentance. These unknown sins can do as much damage to the believer, similar to and just as the effects of bitterness and resentment destroy the Body of Christ from within.

Let’s ask for the ‘Fire of God’ to bring to light unknown sins and allow us to repent of these hidden sins. Let’s make our lives clean and white by the blood of the lamb by allowing the Comforter and fire of God to bring forgiveness and replace His Peace in our lives where the unknown sins were once present.

Got the fire? You need the fire!

August 31, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

Why Do I Need God’s Fire, Anyway?

The Fire Series, part 3

Hey Steve, “Why do I need God’s fire anyway? I am doing just fine with what God has given me.” My reply is, “What does the Bible say about fire and what can God’s fire do for you? Do you really think you are doing OK? Are you perfect as Paul stated, ‘Be perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect’?”

Do you really think the disciples of Jesus at the time of the Pentecost were not praying for “Fire”? Of course, they were because of what the New Testament tells us. John the Baptist told everyone about how Jesus was going to “baptize with the Holy Spirit and with Fire” (Mathew 3:10-11 and Luke 3:16). They wanted it and were waiting for "Fire".

You will know if you got God’s fire if your life is indeed different. Do you act like an Acts of the Apostle disciple of Christ? Is your life always being ‘cleaned up’ by the Holy Spirit? Have you been ‘tried’ lately as Christ was tried by the devil after the Holy Spirit came upon Him? The Bible says Christ was driven by the Holy Spirit into the desert and was tempted by the devil for 40 days—40 days of fasting (no food or water), by Himself, as the Bible says in many different verses ‘as gold is tried in the fire’.

If we do not have the judgment of God bearing down on our lives, then the Bible says we are not sons and daughters of God. We must allow the fire of God to work on us and within us, changing us and getting rid of everything that is not of the Holy Spirit.

You are no good to God, if you only have the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit working in your life. God wants you (the temple of the Holy Spirit) to be holy, sanctified, cleaned, prepared, and ready to do God’s will. We must have this Fire! So, let’s pray for the ‘fire that comes from God’, knowing that it is the fire of God that will challenge the earth and try every work to see if it is from God or Satan.

Jesus, give me that fire—the fire from heaven. Fire that will make me pure and righteous ready for the Master’s purposes. This is what Jesus (my Master) would want me to do.

Got God’s Fire?

Got Fire?

The Fire Series, part 2

As I previously stated in the last article, “fire” is mentioned over 600 times in the Bible. Fire is important to God, not any kind of fire but God’s fire. In Mathew 3:10-11 and Luke 3:16, John the Baptist stated that “He (Jesus) will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.”

Fire is not only important but a necessity for every believer (if you believe in God’s word). When Pentecost came the disciples had ‘little fires’ upon and touching their heads. Here is a listing of the events of Pentecost (Acts chapters 1&2): first the disciples were in unity, they were waiting for the Holy Spirit to come, then a sound as a mighty rushing wind came upon the building they were in, then the fire of God came upon each and every one of the disciples, then there was the filling of the Holy Spirit, and last, the speaking in tongues. Well, if that doesn’t change all our theology then nothing will.

If God (the Trinity) Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is in your life, then where is the fire? There are so many examples of God’s fire in the Bible, it is a central part to God working His will in all the earth. Hebrews 12:29 says, “For our God is a consuming fire.” If God is a fire and if God uses His fire in all the earth to get His will accomplished, then why don’t we see it more often and whenever God’s Presence is present?

Oh, I am sure you have some practice answer or some logical reason for this. I guess you think you have the fire of God already in your life. If you do, where are the flames of the Holy Spirit? Show me the flames! Show me the fire! Show me the smoke of God (that the fire produces) coming down from the alter of God in heaven and changing your life?

God, I want your fire! Not just any fire; only the fire that never goes out. The fire that comes with the winds of heaven and the fire that consumes me. Let me have your fire—a fire that does not kill me but brings me life, cleansing me, and brings with it Christ himself.

What would Jesus want me to do? To wait (in Jerusalem or anywhere) until the Father sends the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with His fire. Got the Holy Spirit, then show me the fire, Hebrews 12:29 says, “For our God is a consuming fire.” This is the fire I am talking about!
