Waiting Like Jesus

Just Waiting, Watching & Waiting, and Moving God While Waiting

Have you ever wanting something but had to wait? Sure you have; all of us have had to wait and sometimes for a very long time. God asks us to wait, and at times, it seems much too long. There are times of waiting and times of doing (this comes from Steve, not Ecclesiastes).

“There are times or seasons for every purpose under heaven,” the Bible says in Ecclesiastes 3:1. I have found this to be true for Christians and non-Christians alike. Knowing what to do and when is a science of sorts. All of us want to know when ‘the best time is’ to do things. Farmers pay close attention to seasons—to them, it is a science knowing when to plant and when to harvest what they have planted.

Only a wise person understands this concept and lives one’s life by this simple truth. I have discovered that there are three types of waiting. Not all waiting is the same. We would like ‘waiting’ to be the same, but waiting can be a tricky process; it is not a “one size/style fits all” concept. The 3 styles of waiting are:

1) One only needs to wait and do nothing. This type of waiting is mentioned in Scripture and sometimes that is all we can do—to just wait—there is no other action needed on our part. At times we do not know what to do or say, but we know we must wait without knowing what to do next or when. (Remember that God waits like this also, as He did when He waited for Noah to finish building the ark.)

2) One can also wait yet do some things while we are waiting. We can wait yet make plans when things turn around. We can wait by praying, fasting, reading Scripture and listening to the Holy Spirit. God often wants us to wait, but we are to be watching while we wait. I call this proactive waiting—waiting and expecting at the same time. There are many Scriptures and examples in the Bible of this style of waiting. (Waiting is not patience; do not confuse the two.) Abraham waited for what God’s promised him—expecting it at any time. He did not fail in watching for God’s promise when the angels and the King of Salem showed up—he expected and acted.

3) Last of all, there is waiting but you are actively working by pushing God to move ahead with His plans. You are not only waiting for the finished product or result but also directly initiating what God has promised. God says in Scripture to never become anxious or worrisome. Whenever we wait we must indeed control our spirit and response to what is going on around us. Nevertheless, waiting at this level requires action on our part.

Let me explain #3. If you know what God’s will is but nothing is happening. You know because God has shown you through Scripture or told you what is expect yet time is of the essence, this is the time for “the action for the fulfillment of waiting.” This is when I move God if He is not moving. Yes, I move God. I cannot do what God must do on His own, nor do I have the means to accomplish His will in front of me, but I do have authority and anointing from the Holy Spirit to command His will to be done on earth—or change the situation I am presently in—while I am waiting.

I can give you countless examples of this in church history and many individuals who “moved God” while they were in a state of waiting. Sometimes this waiting was only a matter of minutes while other times it took days, but they “moved God.”

I wait often, and I wait in three different ways. I am waiting for God without fear, without worry, and without being anxious. God waits for me and I wait for Him. God moves me to action and I move Him to action—this is the friendship we all must have with our Father. His son, Jesus made a way for this to happen, and the Holy Spirit gives me the tools to wait. Praise be to God, who makes all things happen for His Glory!

The Crisis of Anger

September 5, 2017 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

The Crisis of Anger

One cannot look at TV, spend time at an entertainment park, or even picnicking at a local park without noticing people who are angry. Angry people are everywhere. We have road rage that ends up in someone dying every day in America. Disgruntled employees, returning to work with firearms, are taking their anger out on co-workers or management.

Now, when a person is fired business, the company has to hire armed security for a few days in order to protect all who are presently working for the firm. Hollywood makes fun of angry people. It is cool to be angry according to Hollywood movies, but most businesses today have anger management classes for employees that focus on how to cope with stress and signs of ‘tipping-points’ so not too push customers to become angry.

Everyday all of us are approached by individuals that are angry—people who are at the point of exploding into a fit of rage. Remember OJ Simpson, San Bernardino public relations services, or any of countless weekly news updates that tell us of people who are angry and have lived out their rage and hatred on innocent people.

We get angry if we are not allowed to get our way. We can get angry over a cup of Starbucks coffee that is not made right. We have no patience—we cannot not wait for anything—we get mad if we do not get what we want when we want it. We are spoiled, self-centered and self-absorbing individuals.

We have invented so many things to make life easier yet to us, it is not easy enough. We have information at our fingertips yet we struggle for more and more at faster rates. There is not one nation that does not have an anger problem with its population. It is everywhere, in every culture and every life-style.

It is only going to get worse. The Bible says, The Revelation, “The nations were angry.” There is no turning back. Our future is determined—the world is coming to an end and there is nothing you can do about it. Darkness will eventually become so great it will destroy what we now know. Satan, the creator of lies and ruler of darkness, will have his day before Christ returns.

Want freedom? Give up your selfish ways. Start living for truth, goodness and Christ. Anger will only destroy what little love you have. Being mad will only hinder good from working. There is coming a day when God will not hear your prayers or come to your rescue. Then the Bible says you will become angry; then all you can do is grind your teeth or cry uncontrollably because of your situation—your anger will no longer be appeased and God’s judgment will follow.

Prophetic Word #2

September 4, 2017 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Another Prophetic Word: Part II

The Holy Spirit is busy talking, showing, and explaining what is about to happen. One of His jobs is to inform the Body of Christ of the purposes and action plans of God, as well as, what is or will take place in the world. God wants His people to be informed and able to make decisions. This is His love for us—being wise in Him.

As stated in yesterdays article, the Body of Christ in the western states must speak to the Winds of God to flame the fires God has already started to burn in the Eastern United States. This is not a one-man or woman spiritual movement of God or even a small group initiating the next movement of the Holy Spirit. This will be a complete holistic movement by the Body of Christ. God says, “There will be unity or nothing.”

Many in the Church know how to speak the will of God—we quote Scriptures, prayers, or just words with authority by commanding the will of God to take place. We must ask that the Winds of the Holy Spirit to flame the fires and keep them from going out—the flames of God must spread. The rain of God will not be far behind, and it is in the ‘fire and rain’ that only the Holy Spirit can bring for Christ to be glorified in this next Never-ending Spiritual Awakening in America.

Also, about two weeks ago God spoke to me while I was standing near the bottom of my property looking north toward the mountain, which sits in the middle of my property. God said, “There will be danger coming from the north.” I did not know what this meant, but I concluded it was the possibility of a fire coming over the mountain toward my ranch’s structures and home. I did some fire protection because of His words. But, now I know it was much more than this.

There have been many problems that initiated in the northern regions of geographical areas. We have the largest fire in history in the northern part of Los Angeles City. Northern California has had the worst heat wave on record for the state this past week. And last but not least, North Korea’s leader is threatening the Pacific region.

North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong Un, does not want a seat at the table of influential leaders, he wants much more than that. He knows he cannot win a war with the U.S. but he can create a war. He wants to start WWIII. If he can get world powers to fight a world war with each other then he will have ‘an opportunity and window period’ to invade South Korea while the world power is ‘fighting it out’ with each other. This is his goal, the Korea peninsula under his domination.

The wisdom of God says, “You have not because you ask not, and you do not receive because you ask according to your will and not God’s will” (Book of James). God is showing us His will; it is time to act—to ask for His will in such a time as this!

A Prophetic Word–Speak Now!

September 3, 2017 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

A Prophetic Word

The Holy Spirit has been pushing me today to write this article. I have been traveling and very busy. All of you have been there, yet God knows only His timetable. Humility has never been a strong personal quality. I find myself apologizing often for my arrogance and ‘type A’ personality, but God keeps reminding me that without humility I cannot serve Him nor do His will.

The Bible says in Daniel 2:21, "He changes times and seasons; He deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning" (NIV). What is about to take place, that is, what God is now doing and will continue to do, will be beyond amazing and frankly earth shattering, literally!

The move of God, which in now taking place in many and various places in America, can only fully come to pass throughout America if His People on the West-coast speak to the Wind of God to move on the East-coast. God reminded me to “speak to the wind” and tell the Winds of God "to move in ways only God can imagine and to move according to Biblical Scripture." It is not time for revival, because God told me not to call it a revival, but to call it by another name that is Biblical and prophetic and much greater than any move of God in past history.

It is indeed ‘a time of change’ in how the Church views how God moves in the earth. It is a time of ‘not singular leadership’ but time of ‘unity in the Body of Christ’. There will be no ‘big I’s or little you’s. Now is the time of each of to take our place in Christ.

This is the time of Christ’s return—we are to prepare the way for Christ’s return (no matter how long or short it is). We are to usher in the Government of God. It is the time of ‘abiding peace and presence of God’. It is the time for ‘Never-ending’—God’s reign over all of creation—to bring all things under His Lordship and control. It is time for ‘DEW’—drinking His Blood, eating His Body, and having His Wine (the fruit and gifts of the Spirit) manifested not only in our lives as the Body of Christ but there manifestations in all the earth without measure.

Yes, this final move of God’s will and presence will be found only in Christ and the Holy Spirit—Blood, Body and Wine—partaking of all three Sacraments. So let us make our robes white in the blood of the Lamb and quit looking to what has taken place in the past, but to realize, we must have His wisdom alone in order to become full of His knowledge and discernment to accomplish His will through His faith. It is time for revival by another name–Never-ending (the Government of God) and D.E.W. (God’s blessings, signs, and Christ Himself with the Holy Spirit).

From Despair to God’ Reality

August 26, 2017 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

The Unexpected Becomes Our Reality

A prophetic word from Elijah List

I am sent some ‘good stuff’ once in awhile. Articles that I believe come from the heart of God and are encouraging to the Body of Christ. Below are parts of articles from Elijah’s List that were recently emailed to me. I want the children of God to be hopeful and prepared. God is about to change our despair into great rejoicing—it is time for God’s new spiritual renewal for America—God’s ‘Never-Ending’ revival.

S. Shultz says, “Keep this Scripture reference in mind as you read through Holly’s word, 1 Timothy 2: "I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." Also, you’ll be very encouraged in this season of “unexpected suddenlies” as Holly shares:

Prepare yourself for God to move in a way you hadn’t expected. The Spirit of the Lord is coming by unexpected means and through unexpected people. We are in a season of grace for upgrades in gifts, anointing, and callings. God is switching things up a bit and elevating some to make room for others. God is in the business of blessing and He sees the faithfulness of the righteous.” (By Steve Shultz, Elijah List)

H. Watson says, “I believe this event is also a sign to the Body of Christ that the Lord is moving through divine interceptions at this hour. The Lord is intercepting the enemy on behalf of His people and coming through with sudden blessings to demonstrate His goodness and power. Where there’s been a spirit of defeat, the Lord is ushering in victory and breakthrough.

A special favor is upon those who have remained hidden and out of sight to come to the forefront and be used by God in a mighty way. Anointings are being identified, promotions granted and upgrades established in the spiritual realm. The Spirit of the Lord is bringing divine interceptions your way!

In closing, I believe we are also in a season of ‘Unexpected Suddenlies’. Recently, I woke up from a dream where those around me were experiencing surprise gifts and unexpected celebrations. I was in a season of immense joy and surprise as the favor of the Lord was upon us.

In addition to this first dream, a few days ago I woke up out of another dream where the most unlikely people were helping me and others accomplish their heart’s desire. There was unity in unexpected places and gifts and favor being offered and facilitated through unexpected means. I woke up out of the dream hearing the words, "Who knew?" As if to say I never expected that!

Prepare yourself for God to move in a way you hadn’t expected. The Spirit of the Lord is coming by unexpected means and through unexpected people. We are in a season of grace for upgrades in gifts, anointing, and callings. God is switching things up a bit and elevating some to make room for others. God is in the business of blessing and He sees the faithfulness of the righteous.

"And suddenly there came a sound from Heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting." Acts 2:2

Where some of you have felt like you’ve missed a season or been in a state of delay, I sense the Spirit of the Lord granting special favor upon those who have remained steadfast. The shifting winds are here and suddenlies are in the air. Let go of what was and stay in the flow of the Holy Ghost. The Spirit of the Lord is moving!

"And he swore by Him Who lives for ever and ever, Who created the heavens and all that is in them, the earth and all that is in it, and the sea and all that is in it, and said, ‘There will be no more delay!’" Revelation 10:6” (By Holly Watson, Kingdom Revelations)

Esther Chapter 6

Speak this chapter over yourself, your family & your church

1 On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles, and they were read before the king. 2 And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s chamberlains, of those that kept the threshold, who had sought to lay hands on the king Ahasuerus. 3And the king said, What honor and dignity hath been bestowed on Mordecai for this? Then said the king’s servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him.
4 And the king said, Who is in the court? Now Haman was come into the outward court of the king’s house, to speak unto the king to hang Mordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him. 5 And the king’s servants said unto him, Behold, Haman standeth in the court. And the king said, Let him come in. 6 So Haman came in. And the king said unto him, What shall be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honor? Now Haman said in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honor more than to myself? 7 And Haman said unto the king, For the man whom the king delighteth to honor, 8 let royal apparel be brought which the king useth to wear, and the horse that the king rideth upon, and on the head of which a crown royal is set: 9 and let the apparel and the horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king’s most noble princes, that they may array the man therewith whom the king delighteth to honor, and cause him to ride on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaim before him, Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delighteth to honor. 10 Then the king said to Haman, Make haste, and take the apparel and the horse, as thou hast said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the king’s gate: let nothing fail of all that thou hast spoken. 11 Then took Haman the apparel and the horse, and arrayed Mordecai, and caused him to ride through the street of the city, and proclaimed before him, Thus shall it be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honor.
12 And Mordecai came again to the king’s gate. But Haman hasted to his house, mourning and having his head covered. 13 And Haman recounted unto Zeresh his wife and all his friends everything that had befallen him. Then said his wise men and Zeresh his wife unto him, If Mordecai, before whom thou hast begun to fall, be of the seed of the Jews, thou shalt not prevail against him, but shalt surely fall before him. 14 While they were yet talking with him, came the king’s chamberlains, and hasted to bring Haman unto the banquet that Esther had prepared. Wisdom so close, yet so far away

August 15, 2017 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

What’s Your Wisdom?

I am working on completing my book on The Proverbs (you know, the book that follows Psalms in the Bible). There have been many ups and downs in getting to the final chapter, but most of the time, I have allowed other things to get into the way of writing. Why God chose me to write this book I do not know neither will I ask.

Well, I am all most there. It has been a challenging and an inspirational journey. I have learned things that one cannot learn without God or find in scholarly books and commentaries about Proverbs. This work is God initiated and birthed solely by the Holy Spirit. In fact, it is about the Holy Spirit. I am amazed how wisdom has been in front of us for centuries, and yet, might as well been in another galaxy because of our lack of humility and our confidence in our pride, which drives wisdom (or should I say the Holy Spirit) away from us. Let me give you a peek into what I have learned what wisdom is not and its importance.

God’s wisdom is not:

A list of ‘life rules’ to live by

To be learned or defined by a set of instructional methods or guidelines

Found in merely an answer or creative thinking

It has never been “do this and success will follow you”

A list of dos and don’ts

Laws or a series of steps to attaining personal independence or monetary gain

Clever sayings or quick fixes; neither is it witty sayings or historical wordage

Wisdom can, of course, do these things but so can gifts of knowledge, discernment, prophecy, and government. Wisdom is so important that God designated a book to describe wisdom, The Proverbs. There are over 300 verses containing the word, wisdom, and over 1000 words related to wisdom in the Bible. Out of the Nine Gifts of the Spirit, wisdom is one of them. The Book of James says, that without wisdom, you cannot serve God. Wisdom is so central to the will of God; it is wisdom that defines the will of God for us and in us. Wisdom divides the arrogant from the ‘poor in spirit’, identifies evil for us, and brings us peace and comfort!

God is saying, “It is time to challenge how we define, understand, and respond to wisdom (The Holy Spirit), who He is and how He works in the lives of God’s people.” For me, I say, “Give me wisdom or give me hopelessness.”

Wisdom so near yet so far away

August 12, 2017 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Matthew Chapter 11

All of us have favorite verses, chapters or books in the Bible. Sometimes my favorites change over time or depend on what kind of ‘season of grace’ I am in. The Gospel According to Saint Matthew has a chapter that we ought to memorize—chapter 11.

This chapter speaks to the wisdom of God. Jesus explains what wisdom is for and what it does. How wisdom brings salvation, the kingdom of heaven, performs the miracles of God, ushers in the judgment of God, how it can be attained (only through humility), and offers all that finds wisdom, the rest of God. We know of course that Jesus is talking about the Holy Spirit. To Jesus, this wisdom and the Holy Spirit is one and the same. (Oh how we have missed the wisdom of God even through the Holy Spirit has been calling to us over the years.) Matthew 11: 16-30…enjoy!

But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like to children sitting in the markets, and calling to their fellows, 17 And saying, We have piped to you, and you have not danced; we have mourned to you, and you have not lamented. 18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He has a devil. 19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a drunkard, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children. 20 Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not: 21 Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. 22 But I say to you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the Day of Judgment, than for you. 23 And you, Capernaum, which are exalted to heaven, shall be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in you, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. 24 But I say to you, that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the Day of Judgment, than for you. 25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hid these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them to babes. 26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in your sight. 27 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knows the Son, but the Father; neither knows any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. 28 Come to me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke on you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest to your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

A good read

August 10, 2017 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

A Good Read

Every once in a while, I come across ‘a good read’. A book I want to keep and read through more than just one time. I found such a book, “True Stories of the Miracles of Azusa Street and Beyond” by Tommy Welchel; I am sure you will also enjoy this book—it’s is inexpensive and one can purchase it on-line/multiple websites.

I do enough serious reading so I need easy pleasurable reading to balance my intake of words. Children books are by far my favorite, after that short story books, and then those books that motivate me.

This book of Tommy Welchel is written on a middle school reading level and divided into many short stories, which include amazing testimonies as to the power of Christ. I will most likely read it over again and again to remind me what God wants to do in our lives because of Christ and His great love for us.

These stories remind me of the beginning of the Charismatic Movement (early 1960’s). There were constant miracles so similar to what took place at the Azusa Street Revival. We never knew what God was going to do next. Those were the days of simple prayers, high expectations, God confirming His word with healings and miracles, and not least, His protective covering over His children.

The church is always waiting for the next great movement of the Holy Spirit. All I can say to the church is, “You have the Holy Spirit already in you. So begin to believe, expect in humility, and ask for God to do great things to glorify His Son.”

This is what Jesus told His disciples over and over again and His advice is still good for today…What Would Jesus Want Me To Do?

The Never-Ending Movement

August 7, 2017 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

It’s Not a Revival

From the very beginning, God has given me a good understanding about the next ‘revival’ in America. However, each time I wrote the word ‘revival’ my spirit questioned that term. I often used words like awakening, renewal, spiritual enlightenment and so forth in order to compensate what my spirit was telling me. It was not till last week that God said, “Do not use that word ‘revival’, I am not bringing a revival.” My question to God was, “Then what do I call the next movement of the Spirit of God?”

Revivals historically have usually only lasted about 3 ½ years, about the length of Jesus’s ministry on earth. The ‘early rain’—the beginning of Pentecost at Jerusalem (through the passing away of the 120 individuals in the upper room) lasted many years beyond your typical 3 ½ years according to early church history.

We are now entering the Second Coming of Christ and the ‘Later Rain’ as spoken by Prophets & Apostles in Scriptures. This next revival will not be built around any one denomination, a single building or movement, or a specific individual. ‘The Later Rain’ is not just about miracles or wonders, but will be about the fulfillment of Scripture. It is about the complete fulfillment and unity of the Body of Christ. It is about God in us, the Hope of Glory.

I began to search Scripture for a term or word that would explain the “Later Day Rain” of the Holy Spirit, God’s fulfillment of Scripture, and the Second Coming of Christ. I was drawn to the word, ‘abiding’, but it did not express our part or the outcome of God’s completed will. God led me to the term/word—‘enduring’.

Enduring means: lasting, durable, long-suffering. Endure: To carry on through despite hardships, to bear with tolerance, to continue in existence, remain, to last, to suffer patiently without yielding persevere, to hold out. Synonyms are: ageless, continuing, dateless, abiding, eternal, everlasting, immortal, imperishable, lasting, ongoing, perennial, perpetual, timeless, undying. This next move of God includes justice, judgment, righteousness, the government of God, and Christ’s never-ending rule.

Now maybe this is what this next movement of the Holy Spirit should be called, The Enduring. (The Bible uses this terms: endure, endured, endureth, and enduring over 135 times, and my favorite verse is Matthew 10:22, “But he that endures to the end shall be saved”), or, maybe, Never-Ending, this is my personal choice of what this next move of God should be called. The Christ forever and ever—never-ending!
