America’s Warning

April 7, 2024 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John (2SoJ)

America ‘Hanging in the Balance’, Biblical Warning!

God’s judgment is about integrity and righteousness. Wanting forgiveness is always in play and usually the starting point for all Christians, but what you do with God’s grace after God has granted you freedom from your sin is crucial to finding continual mercy and truth throughout one’s life. This is true not only for the individual but for every nation. Our decision to always abide or not abide in God’s truth (His Holy Word) comes with either blessing or curses; we stand in the balance.

Historically America has responded when God called for repentance, and God responded in return with kindness, but that has not been the case for the past 40 years. America was built on the Bible with individuals wanting to live by the truths in God’s Word with a government being built on biblical principles. America was birthed as a nation after the Great Awakening in the 1730s and 1740s through George Whitefield’s preaching. Every town, community, and church was experiencing a revival. This is what America was built on and if we reject the Grace God initially gave to us, only God’s judgment is waiting for us.

California is a perfect example of what is about to happen. When God pours His Spirit upon a specific region and measures the quality and effectiveness of His Grace upon the people living in a state, we must respond in likeness and be grateful to God for His grace. How many revivals or Holy Spirit Movements have taken place within California? There have been many! One can only be amazed as to the amount of the God’s Grace, God has poured out on the people of California. I believe God has shown great mercy and ‘outpourings’ of the Holy Spirit that other places have never experienced. Why? Because God knows what is coming—great judgment. If one would consider all the prophesies and visions of California’s future, every person living in CA would be making plans to leave this state. Soon California will be no more. Its landscape will be changed, reducing the state to an economy and a population to only a fraction of what it is today. Judgment is coming because God says it is! Is America facing the same judgment?

Daniel 5:24-27 says, Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written. And this is the writing that was written, Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin. This is the interpretation of the thing: Mene; God hath numbered thy kingdom and finished it. Tekel; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.” There are many interpretations to this verse, but a simple and truthful interpretation is, “If a person says, ‘you have been weighed, you have been measured and you have been found wanting’. It means that you are not acceptable. That there is something missing to you, your character or what you offer. It is generally a negative statement that you are not good enough.” (various interpretations combined)

The Book of Proverbs has lots to say about doing what is right or wrong. Many verses mention the ‘concept of the balance or scale’. A just balance and scales belong to the LORD, the Bible says; “All the weights of the bag are His concern” Proverbs 16:11. When it comes to how we live and how we do business, God is concerned with how we proceed in integrity, i.e. how we utilize His grace in our lives and the decisions we make.

There is no doubt in my spirit that America is being weighed and is on trial with God. How we respond to God’s truth and respond to His grace is more critical today than ever before. America was not conceived by men making decisions but birthed through prayer and asking for God’s will to be done. If people do not pray, if revivals do not come, if people do not seek God’s will then America will be no more. We are hanging in the balance! The only way to overcome ‘the wanting of the balance’ is to reverse our course and ask for God’s will to be done. Jesus is offering mercy, forgiveness, and grace; do not reject His call to be humble, to pray, to seek His will, and to respond to His grace.

It’s Time to Rejoice!

April 3, 2024 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John (2SoJ)

You Should Be Rejoicing

Christians should be full of joy, rejoicing each day, and full of anticipation because Jesus is Coming Back! Why you ask? Because everything is falling apart and getting worse.

Mother Nature is in disarray, struggling to stay alive, find food, and proper habitats.

‘Want-a-be Christians’ are leaving their religion behind and rejecting church attendance.

Good has become unfashionable, and evil is now considered right, appropriate, and even good.

Christians are considered ‘the problem’ with society and are often persecuted in multiple nations.

People are choosing to be angry and hateful never offering kindness and patience.

Women hate men more and more, and so men will no longer have anything to do with women. In fact, everyone will hate each other no matter their status or sex.

Money, well, it will soon be a ‘thing of the past’ and no longer used for monetary purposes, and unable to buy anything.

The weather, oh, it will become so unpredictable and volatile that climate change will completely upend the world’s production of food.

Half of the world’s population will die of hunger and living conditions, and this is just the beginning.

Good drinking water will become a ‘thing of the past’ with no solution to this problem.

Forget about finding food and water because your enemy will be your neighbor and you will be fighting everyone who will be trying to take what you have—human life will mean nothing! Killing each other will be ‘the solution’ to staying alive.

It is only then, when churches will no longer be in existence, no one will want to be a political leader because the problems cannot be solved, that the Antichrist will arrive on the scene doing miracles and people will take on the Mark of the Beast worshipping the Devil so they can live. Satan will finally have what he wants—people to worship and obey him.

This is why I am rejoicing! Jesus is coming back, and I get to be with Him forever! I will never cry again nor see evil again. Oh! Happy Day, Jesus has not just washed all my sins away but has destroyed all that is evil by judging the world and all who loved this world.

Jesus Walking Backwards as I Walk Forward

March 24, 2024 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John (2SoJ)

Fearless and Full of Courage…Jesus Walking Backwards

Christians can fear their future by seeing their past history, the unknown/uncertainty of their future, or their inability to understand what is about to take place and the means to confront their future. Christians will doubt and become hopeless by asking this question, "Do I have what it takes?” without guidance from the Holy Spirit to overcome fear.

We have so many things in our culture to confuse and cause each of us to doubt and live in a state of fear. Walking in the unknown will always create fear and doubt. Knowing what the purposes and activities of God are and responding to these purposes and activities creates great faith and puts you in the driver’s seat of God’s future for you.

My favorite story of ‘fear vs courage’ is Peter walking on the water (Matthew 14:22-33 various versions). Walking on water is easy to do if you have Jesus in front of you and you do not take your eyes off Him (a note from Steve).

Things were going well for Peter as He got out of the boat. Jesus invited him to come to Him and Peter took Him up on the invite. But as things progressed the waves became greater and seemed overpowering; Peter became fearful. The waves are a type of the world—people, circumstances, and obstacles all got in the way. Satan will stir up people to ridicule or laugh at you and circumstances will say “No!”, not to mention the obstacles of not seeing Jesus behind the waves. This is how it works when Satan wants you to fear but God says, “Be of good courage.”

Never allow your personal past or past circumstances to dictate your faith response. When you respond to God’s will make sure you ‘speak out loud’ your request to God, do not allow your brain to try and figure how God is going to do His miracle, and especially do not think about a timeframe for the miracle to happen. The miracles I have received from God, I had to get myself out of the way, and I did not filter or gauge my response to God by using past events, feelings, or failures. I spoke expecting, believed that God was hearing, and knew He loved me no matter my past. This is where miracles come from—I have had many and still today I believe they are just around the corner for me and anyone who dares believe in Jesus Christ.

I ask and walk this Christian lifestyle allowing the Hand of the Holy Spirit to push me from behind, and I keep my eyes on Jesus who is walking backwards as I walk forward so I can always see His face. Fearless and full of courage with Jesus who is always calling out to me to believe in miracles greater than He performed on earth!

Mindless or Faithfulness

March 23, 2024 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John (2SoJ)

Having the Mind of Christ

Having the ‘Mind of Christ’ operating in one’s life can only be effective if you follow the path to ‘walking by faith’. No faith no Mind of Christ!

The Bible is clear in what prohibits our faith from working or engaging in the purposes and activities of God. There are a few simple steps one can take to increase the activity of one’s faith in response to what God wants to do or promises to do in any given situation. Having the Mind of Christ in your life will help you do the will of God, thereby being called by God “a person of faith”. Want to be a person of faith having your name mentioned with the great people of faith in Hebrews chapter 11, get the mind of Christ?

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men,” Philippians 2: 1-3 KJV.

The word “let” is critical! Let means “choosing, making a decision” is the first step; allowing the mind of Christ to operate in your life. This is an action-step of faith—"I choose, I make a decision” for the purposes and action plans of God to take place. Second step, knowing/believing that it is possible to do the works of God in this world (God’s purposes and action plans). Third step, one must humble oneself. Do not lift yourself up or try to become a somebody when you humbled yourself and became a nobody. If you want a good reputation don’t expect the mind of Christ to work in you. The apostle Paul did not take any glory away from God, he did not take any of God’s glory for himself. Paul only gloried in the sufferings and persecutions he experienced. This is where the Mind of Christ is the greatest and the purposes and activities are manifested in our lives to the fullest—humility.

Let’s move from being mindless to faithfulness—operating with the Mind of Christ alone, giving all glory and praise to Jesus Christ—this is true faith in action!

One’s Soul & A House Undivided

March 22, 2024 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John (2SoJ)

A House Divided/A Soul Lost

“And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand” Mark 3:25 KJV. Every person who believes in Jesus Christ knows that Christ is coming back one day, and most believers hope in His coming. When Jesus comes back to take control of what He and the Father created, Christ is not coming back in the likeness of a man nor in humility, but He is coming back with judgment and the wrath of the Lamb. The problem/question for believers is, “Are you ready; are you prepared; do you have a great deal of patience?”

I often run into Christians who are still deniers without a ‘Divine Future’. They cannot accept the Bible as being totally correct or truthful. They lack love, by expressing their hate for whatever, and become more excited about politics than what God is doing. They are Christians who are dead on the inside—their souls do not have hope or righteousness or vision for the future. We must protect our souls in the last days. Jesus said, “To love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.” King David told his soul to rejoice in the Lord and not to be quiet. It is our soul that needs to come to the forefront in our lives, and we must begin to love, serve, and worship God with all our souls! One cannot begin to believe in God if you do not let your soul respond to who God is, what He has done, and what His plans are for you. You have no future without your soul acknowledging Jesus Christ and loving Him to the fullest.

I believe the Bible speaks to how to operate in having your soul connect to God and that process requires forgiveness, repentance, singing to the Lord, and speaking to one’s soul to rejoice in all that God does—thankfulness is a large component.

So, let’s get our souls connected to the Holy Spirit by living in a constant daily lifestyle of repentance, rejoicing, and thankfulness. Without our souls loving God we all fall short of loving God and doing His will. This is a house (your personal-physical house/body) that is not divided but in unity with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit in the Body of Christ/His Church. Get a united Body of Christ, one house at a time by including one’s soul in the process.

For my friends

Morning,

If you have not listened to or purchased the newly released musical album by Katy Nicole, Jesus Changed My Life (Deluxe Edition) you need to! The album ‘Blows Me Away’!

I have not heard an album this good since the Jesus Movement days in the 70s. Song #13, Jesus, Thank You (Deluxe Version) is my favorite, but it is hard to choose.

Are you praying & believing?

March 11, 2024 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John (2SoJ)

Prayer & Democracy

It is extremely difficult to be humble and/or react with humility in today’s culture. Satan wants you to fight with anger, become hateful, and depend on your efforts instead of looking to God for help. God says in the Bible, to humble oneself, pray fervently, seek His will in all you do, and not to dependent upon worldly institutions. A Biblical premise: Democracy does not depend on your vote but was built on prayers, and it is your prayers that keep democracy alive and God’s will within the democratic process. It is time to pray and pray with fervency and ask for God’s will and wisdom for America. Good things happen not by might nor by man’s power but by how hard His people pray and repent for all the wrong that is in America. America needs Jesus and only Jesus can fix America.

National Day of Repentance Sunday, March 24, 2024

The United States of America was created by God’s miracles, in His perfect timing, moving through greatly outnumbered, but passionate Holy Spirit-inspired individuals, seeking the Liberty of Christ (Luke 4:18 " He has sent Me… to bring liberty to the captives" ) instead of the tyranny of kings.

Knowing they needed His Hand, the Continental Congress held eight days of "humiliation, fasting and prayer" during the seven-year Revolutionary War. After His miracles brought about victory in the War, issues arose between States under the weak "Articles of Confederation." Delegates gathered again at Philadelphia in 1787 to attempt to resolve the divisions. At the beginning of the Convention George Washington, hero of the Revolutionary War, upon being voted head of the Convention, said: " Let us raise a standard to which the wise and honest can repair. The event is in the hand of God." When divisions arose, prayers to God each morning were performed; divisions began to be healed. At the conclusion of the Convention in 1787, whereby God’s Providence a way was found to connect the States into a stronger, liberty-based, union, one lady asked Benjamin Franklin what the delegates had created. Franklin said: " A republic, madam, if you can keep it." (From Capitol Hill Prayer Partners, March, 2024)

It is time to uphold our republic, America’s democracy, by praying and allowing God’s will to take place in our public institutions. Democracy only works through Christian people praying. It’s time for us to pray like our Founding Fathers prayed. Let’s find grace, mercy, and God’s love to reign over our country again! It is through unity and prayer that God’s purposes will be implemented in America’s democracy. May it be said of us, that we prayed and God heard our prayers

Got love with meekness for God?

March 9, 2024 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John (2SoJ)

Loving Too Much…Is Not Loving at All

It is extremely difficult to be humble and/or react with humility in today’s culture. Jesus made it quite clear that being meek (humble) was the only way to inherit what God has given to us. “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth” Matthew 10:5. We are taught in this world to be self-assured, aggressive, and forceful if you want to prosper and become successful in today’s culture, but being a Christian is just the opposite.

Jesus warned us about loving this world more than we love God—it will only increase failure, loneliness, and being manipulated by others. Jesus said If you love anyone more than you love God you are not worthy of what God has to offer (Matthew 10:37).

When a Christian combines these two principles into one’s life things begin to happen. You will begin to see answers to prayers, you will become happy even in the most difficult situation, and the Bible will ‘come alive’ in ways you never thought possible.

One cannot be all that God wants you to be without humility and loving God more than you love others. There will come times in your life when God tries you to see if you are meek enough not to depend on what you believe is the right thing to do and if you love God more than you love that other person. As it was with Abraham and his son Isaac so will it be with you. God tries us to see if we indeed believe in and love Him more than anything else. This is one of the many job descriptions of the Holy Spirit. He is sent to try and prepare us for the Coming of Jesus Christ.

The humbler one becomes the wealthier one will be, and the more you love God, the more you will be able to love others. Humility before wealth and loving God before loving others. This is what a Christian is to be.

Having a hard time understanding and believing in this concept. It’s time for you to take a long and good look at Jesus Christ. He humbled Himself when He accepted His death on the cross and loved God more than anything else so He could love you and me to the fullest. Just use Christ’s life as your example to follow, you will not go wrong!

Haunted by Waters/guest writer

March 6, 2024 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John (2SoJ)

Haunted by Waters: Guest writer & storyteller

One of my absolute all-time favorite movies, directed by Robert Redford, is “A River Runs Through It”.

It is a story about a Presbyterian minister in Montana with two sons. One son most definitely takes a more conventional approach to life while the other is a bit of a rascal. The two men take undeniably different paths in life but remain held together by the bond of family unity and respect.

Sadly, at the end of the story, the renegade son is shot in a gambling dispute and dies. At the end of the film, the father is preaching. His sermon comes from Scripture and focuses on the often limitations of love. He says, “Oftentimes those we love are the most unwilling or unable to accept our love. We reach out, but what we offer is not accepted. And so, we find that the help we offer is unwanted – but we can love them all the same. We can love completely, even without complete understanding.”

Caught in the middle of the spiritual vacuum of “say nothing, do nothing” regarding homosexuality and related issues, is the repentant homosexual who has not only abandoned the sexual sin of homosexual practice but a whole network of support and identity as well. Surrendering unconditionally to the Lordship of Christ, they enter the Church (many for the first time in their lives) with nothing. God, having brought them to a place of repentance, feel very frightened, vulnerable, and very, very alone.

I freely admit that I remain perplexed and deeply troubled by those in the Church who are terrified, if not paralyzed by the gay rights movement, and want to see any further legitimization of homosexuality stopped dead in its tracks but remain hesitant and unwilling to offer ministry to those who desire to come out of the behavior. This makes absolutely no sense.

Today, more than ever, we need churches that will not sidestep truth or grace but offer crystal clear truth on a host of issues, including homosexuality, toward every person. Frankly, this is exactly what the Church was called to be from the beginning, and it is exactly what people are looking for today. It is a Church just like this that saved my life.

Over these past 38 years of my new life in Christ, I have shared numerous times the heart-wrenching fact that all those I once ran with are now gone. To this day, their names, faces, their laughs, haunt me. I clearly and vividly remember a phone call with my closest and dearest friend just before he passed away with AIDS. He remained in San Francisco long after God had transported me back to Bakersfield in 1985 when and where everything in my life changed.

The last thing he said to me over a phone conversation was, “Phillip, we don’t understand what has happened to you, but whatever it is, keep it up. You have found something.”

Indeed, I continue to be haunted by waters.

Many know and understand the importance and significance of reaching the unreached peoples of the world for Christ Jesus. What about the unreached homosexual population?

We, the Christian community, have a lot to learn about bringing Jesus to the gays and lesbians who hopefully will one day knock at the doors of our churches. How about, “If you struggle with homosexuality and feel trapped – there is hope! Come on into Church and investigate the roots and causes of your struggle with homosexuality. We will walk with you as you look past the surface, deep into your heart, and consider God’s will for your life.”

It is the clarity of the Holy Scriptures that should compel each and every faithful follower of Christ Jesus to be a light where there is darkness, rather than hiding our witness from those who need it.

Today, no one, with integrity, can continue to condemn a behavior or a group of people while doing so very, very little to see things improve.

Once again, I find myself wondering…”Do you hear the waters?”

40 Days, God finding me.

March 2, 2024 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John (2SoJ)

A Story to Tell—40 Days of Prayer

I took 40 days off from writing. My heart was heavy, my spirit was bothered, and I did not want to write what the Spirit of God was showing me. Wisdom is difficult to deal with. Wisdom is designed to show one both the good and evil of an event or action and wisdom always delivers the ‘will of God’ what it is and how it affects humanity.

As I stated before, “Evil looks to overcome the will of God in every person’s life” but God’s will looks to save everyone through His love that we find in Christ alone.

During this process, the Holy Spirit was questioning the “whiteness” of my Robe of Righteousness. Were there things in my life I had yet to give over to God or was I still the master of my destiny?

The Holy Spirit was doing what He does best: finding sins that I did not know existed, pride that was hiding in my life, and the failure to help people that were within my reach to the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was taking the ‘easy-road’ of Christianity.

My life was not good enough, what ministry I had was not effective enough, and my life was not being run by the humility that Christ offered. I have been a mess and I have had to make some changes.

What God has shown me is hard to explain and/or contains insights and knowledge that I have been scared to share with the Body of Christ. Here are some changes I will be making in my blog.

I will be writing/sharing testimonies within the Body of Christ, stories that will scare you, and insights that will move you. If there is just one thing all of us should know, is that American Christians are not humble and do not realize the great power they have with the Holy Spirit living within them.

So, I will be taking you on a journey of repentance, humility, renewal, and fulfillment of your destiny in Christ through the working of the Holy Spirit within you. Get ready for the ‘ride of your life,’ Christ’s coming back is depending on you to be more than just a Christian.
