The Unknown Sins

The Unknown Sins

The Role of the Holy Spirit

We all have sin and our sin can do a good job of hiding. It is not uncommon to not know when or how we have sinned against God or anyone person. We often sin not knowing we have sinned. Of course, some sin is obvious and yet there are somethings sins we do not recognize, neither the circumstances of how we have sinned against God or people.

It is the “unknown sins” that only the Holy Spirit can bring too light. This is why we need the Holy Spirit and understand how He works in the lives of those who receive His activity in their lives.

Jesus said in 16:7-11, “And When he (the Comforter) is come, he will reprove the world of sin and righteousness and judgement.” Jesus wanted us to know what the job of the Holy Spirit (the Comforter) would be. Why, so we would recognize the Holy Spirit’s activity. As we know from Scripture and personal experiences, we know that we can hamper the active of the Holy Spirit.

Often, and I do mean often, we do not recognize that it is the Holy Spirit trying to convict us of sin; sin we do not recognize as sin. I am not talking about how the world tries to ‘lay a guilt trip on us’ but real sin that God does not like. This is the ‘unknown sins’ that exist in our lives.

It is the ‘unknown sins’ that the Holy Spirit is trying to root out of our lives—our heart, soul, spirit, and mind. Sin is complicated and it is multi-facet. Sin can hide in our lives so easily that we do not recognize its existence.

Jesus wants us clean and forgiven in every aspect of our being. We must become sensitive to what the Holy Spirit is saying to us and respond to him with true repentance. These unknown sins can do as much damage to the believer, similar to and just as the effects of bitterness and resentment destroy the Body of Christ from within.

Let’s ask for the ‘Fire of God’ to bring to light unknown sins and allow us to repent of these hidden sins. Let’s make our lives clean and white by the blood of the lamb by allowing the Comforter and fire of God to bring forgiveness and replace His Peace in our lives where the unknown sins were once present.

Got the fire? You need the fire!

Why Do I Need God’s Fire, Anyway?

The Fire Series, part 3

Hey Steve, “Why do I need God’s fire anyway? I am doing just fine with what God has given me.” My reply is, “What does the Bible say about fire and what can God’s fire do for you? Do you really think you are doing OK? Are you perfect as Paul stated, ‘Be perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect’?”

Do you really think the disciples of Jesus at the time of the Pentecost were not praying for “Fire”? Of course, they were because of what the New Testament tells us. John the Baptist told everyone about how Jesus was going to “baptize with the Holy Spirit and with Fire” (Mathew 3:10-11 and Luke 3:16). They wanted it and were waiting for "Fire".

You will know if you got God’s fire if your life is indeed different. Do you act like an Acts of the Apostle disciple of Christ? Is your life always being ‘cleaned up’ by the Holy Spirit? Have you been ‘tried’ lately as Christ was tried by the devil after the Holy Spirit came upon Him? The Bible says Christ was driven by the Holy Spirit into the desert and was tempted by the devil for 40 days—40 days of fasting (no food or water), by Himself, as the Bible says in many different verses ‘as gold is tried in the fire’.

If we do not have the judgment of God bearing down on our lives, then the Bible says we are not sons and daughters of God. We must allow the fire of God to work on us and within us, changing us and getting rid of everything that is not of the Holy Spirit.

You are no good to God, if you only have the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit working in your life. God wants you (the temple of the Holy Spirit) to be holy, sanctified, cleaned, prepared, and ready to do God’s will. We must have this Fire! So, let’s pray for the ‘fire that comes from God’, knowing that it is the fire of God that will challenge the earth and try every work to see if it is from God or Satan.

Jesus, give me that fire—the fire from heaven. Fire that will make me pure and righteous ready for the Master’s purposes. This is what Jesus (my Master) would want me to do.

Got God’s Fire?

August 27, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

Got Fire?

The Fire Series, part 2

As I previously stated in the last article, “fire” is mentioned over 600 times in the Bible. Fire is important to God, not any kind of fire but God’s fire. In Mathew 3:10-11 and Luke 3:16, John the Baptist stated that “He (Jesus) will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.”

Fire is not only important but a necessity for every believer (if you believe in God’s word). When Pentecost came the disciples had ‘little fires’ upon and touching their heads. Here is a listing of the events of Pentecost (Acts chapters 1&2): first the disciples were in unity, they were waiting for the Holy Spirit to come, then a sound as a mighty rushing wind came upon the building they were in, then the fire of God came upon each and every one of the disciples, then there was the filling of the Holy Spirit, and last, the speaking in tongues. Well, if that doesn’t change all our theology then nothing will.

If God (the Trinity) Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is in your life, then where is the fire? There are so many examples of God’s fire in the Bible, it is a central part to God working His will in all the earth. Hebrews 12:29 says, “For our God is a consuming fire.” If God is a fire and if God uses His fire in all the earth to get His will accomplished, then why don’t we see it more often and whenever God’s Presence is present?

Oh, I am sure you have some practice answer or some logical reason for this. I guess you think you have the fire of God already in your life. If you do, where are the flames of the Holy Spirit? Show me the flames! Show me the fire! Show me the smoke of God (that the fire produces) coming down from the alter of God in heaven and changing your life?

God, I want your fire! Not just any fire; only the fire that never goes out. The fire that comes with the winds of heaven and the fire that consumes me. Let me have your fire—a fire that does not kill me but brings me life, cleansing me, and brings with it Christ himself.

What would Jesus want me to do? To wait (in Jerusalem or anywhere) until the Father sends the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with His fire. Got the Holy Spirit, then show me the fire, Hebrews 12:29 says, “For our God is a consuming fire.” This is the fire I am talking about!

Show me the fire

August 25, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

What Does Fire Have To Do With It?

Fire is mentioned over 600 times in the Bible. “Fire” is an important word to God. God uses the symbolism of fire and actual fire in many ways. Fire is a synonym to cleansing and used to sanctify a sacrifice. John the Baptist had this to say about fire: (Luke 3:16) “John answered, saying to all, ‘I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to lose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire’.”

In Acts 2:1-4, the Bible talks about people having the Holy Spirit in their live and fire on their heads. Too often among the Charismatic movement, we have the Holy Spirit with all the gifts in operation, but we lack the fire. We want the dynamics of the Spirit of God but do not have the ‘cleansing activity’ that the Holy Spirit brings.

We need the fire of God always working in our lives. This fire gets rid of the old self, works that no longer reflect Christ, and creates a vessel worthy of the presence and activity of God working in our lives. So, I say, “Do not give me the Holy Spirit without the Fire of God!”

You know why Jesus said, “I never knew you!” to those within the church that made it to heaven and they bragged of all the miracles, healings, prophesies, and wonders they did through the Holy Spirit, yet their lives were still unclean? The fire of God was never cleaning up their lives, getting rid of ‘the old self’ and ‘worldly works’. Jesus said, “I never knew you” and cast them out of heaven.

They had the Holy Spirit actively working in their lives, but they did not allow the fire of God to ‘try and purify’ their lives. We must be tried as gold is purified and created in the fire; this is what the Bible says.

If there is one prayer, I would pray each day, “God let your fire be manifested in my life and burn all that is not from you from my life.” You want revival? Want to be like Christ? Begin to allow the Holy Spirit’s fire to be manifested in your life and for all to see. Burning in your life; getting rid of all the dead wood (works and lifestyles that does not manifest Jesus Christ).

Let me state is plainly, Got God’s fire? Then show me the cleansing fire of God! Do not show me yourself—I only want to see Jesus and it is Jesus I will see when God’s fire is burning in our lives.

Prayer for Pay

August 24, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

Prayer for Pay

As you know, if you have reading my recent articles, God is moving me in a new direction in my writings. He is pushing me to complete my books, which I hope to begin publishing over the next 3 years—one book each year starting this year. My articles new focus will be on ‘the last days’ and ‘Christ’s Return’.

Everything I read and pray about seems to be turned to themes of the Coming of Christ. God today renewed one of my passions: ‘ministries that want your money for exchange for their help’. I call this “Prayer for Pay.” The more you pay the more their ministry will pray for you. I am reminded of Jesus entering Jerusalem at the end of His ministry:

“Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. “It is written,” he said to them, “My house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it ‘a den of robbers’.” (Matthew 21: 12-13)

If you want all that God will be doing and offering in these last days, your business deals that support the premise, “Jesus for sale” will have to be eliminated.

Far too many ministries use the Gospel of Christ to profit their lofty goals. Ministries are selling the ‘truths of the Gospel’ for financial gain.

Their ministries are subverting the true nature of God’s purposes and Christ’s return. People are still buying and selling in our houses of worship. You do not have to give to be blessed. Rather, you should give because God has given to you and for no other reason. We cannot buy blessings or ‘give our way’ into God’s heaven.

Do not be fooled, God is not mocked, one cannot buy prayer nor can one’s money become a sacrifice to the Lord. The Lord wants His righteousness in us not our sacrifice of the giving of money.

Dawn in America

by Phillip Lee

It is by no means a secret that American culture has and continues to drift far, far from standards of sexual morality found in the Bible.

Instead of sexual standards (holy boundary lines established by God Himself) we all are to live within, our culture has embraced and continues to promote other views all fundamentally opposed to Biblical sexual morality.

None of the alternatives to God’s standards regarding human sexuality can be right unless the Bible is completely wrong.

Therefore, if the Bible is right, then any and all alternatives must be wrong.

We have all heard the saying, "The darkest hour is just before dawn."

We are there.

The Church in America is now fully immersed in moral darkness with other around-the-world churches fully engulfed in the same because they have and are now following our example.

To a large degree, the dismissing, the disregard of bringing both truth and grace together has enabled and continues to fuel the vacuum of sexual brokenness and decadence.

Many continue to be deceived under the guise, "it just isn’t proper to discuss such issues in or around the church."

Today, the wave upon wave of new legislation doing its utmost to fully and completely muzzle the Church has already tragically caused many to "to seek middle ground hoping to ride out troubling waters and not be caught in the wash." A religious travesty.

Some Christian leaders foresee an imminent revival. I hope they are right.

What to do?

Return to believing the Bible and trust its inerrancy from beginning to end.

If we allow that the Bible contains errors, then we remain just a couple of steps away from allowing anything and everything.

To allow, to excuse, to make room for any form of sin based on society’s acceptance and endorsement is to challenge, question and contest the Bible’s authority in every area of life.

Dead bones over live bones

August 13, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

Why Dry Bones? Wisdom for the day

Any spiritual warrior prays without ceasing, but all spiritual warriors learn how to fight in the spiritual realm. To fight in God’s battles comes from a position of authority not humility. Humility is where I find myself when I am talking and praying to God. I humble myself and I ought too because I fear the Lord. But when it comes to doing God’s will, I become a person of strength, willing to do battle against the power of darkness.

God is bringing a revival to Southern California. It has been prophesied many times over recent years. God never told me about His plans for my southern neighbors until a week ago. I believed God’s judgment was coming not redemption, let alone revival.

What I find interesting is why God is asking me to “speak to the dry bones?” It there no current “live bones” that can get the job done? God does not think so. Our churches have compromised the Gospel of Christ. Many of our churches have become respectable, politically correct, and supportive to life styles that incorporate sin. Is anyone talking about repentance and changing one’s behavior? No wonder so many Christians go to church and return to their homes exactly how they left for church.

Indeed, God is dead in so many of our churches. God cannot begin a revival of fire and holiness unless there is a spark of life. No Holy Spirit; no revival! It is easy to understand why God asked me to “speak to the dry bones” because the “live bones” cannot get the job done!

God is raising up the dry bones of revivals past. Once God blows the four winds of heaven over the dry bones (this is the final piece of God wisdom) there will be a revival that L.A. cannot contain. It will move across America hitting the east coast, turning in a Spiritual Awakening (not a revival) with the fires from heaven springing up everywhere.

L.A. you have no life; you have left the essence of the Gospel of Christ behind. You have traded in the power of the Holy Spirit for ‘a manufacture life’ and a gospel that does not offend anyone. Light is about to shine in the darkness and the darkness will have no place to hide. This is the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the wisdom of God!

God’s purchasing power

August 12, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

Have you purchased anything from God lately?

(a prayer for day)

God asks all of us to “come and buy.” Revelation 3:18, “I counsel thee to buy of me (God) gold tried in the fire that thou mayest be rich.” The Holy Spirit (whenever you get in the presence of God) is always asking of us to “come & buy.” But you say, “How do I buy from God?”

It is only wisdom that makes a person rich in God’s eyes. Solomon asked of God not material riches but wisdom from God, and God made him rich in wisdom; material wealth followed. Solomon did not see himself rich in money but rich in wisdom—the things that come from God alone, not things of this earth.

If we would only humble ourselves and begin to purchase from God: His wisdom, His understanding, His knowledge, His discretion, His discernment, and His likeness.

I see so many Christians trying to get rich in material wealth, while their soul is hungry, and the heart is empty. We think what we see or what the world offers us is the way for all Christians to live and prosper. God says just the opposite. God sees us poor, blind, and naked when we are without His wisdom and lack His understanding.

The churches of southern California have chosen the way of compromise. They think success is in multiplication, fancy facilities, and professionalism. God works in ways that are not understood by our churches. Yes, I now God always has a remnant (a small number of churches and people) that serve Him; finding God’s wisdom and are blessed.

But God says, “first asked of me wisdom tried in fire.” The Kingdom of God requires a fight for righteous and justice. You cannot have God’s Kingdom on earth without a battle. You and I must go through ‘the fire’ to attain wisdom from above.

Jesus before His ministry began, He was driven into the desert by the Holy Spirit to be tempted by the Devil. Jesus was tried and, in His trials, God produced wisdom in His Son’s life. How much wisdom do you have? Are you willing to purchase what God has to offer? Are you willing to allow the Holy Spirit to guide you or are you going to make all the decisions for your life?

What man says ‘this cannot be’; God says all things are possible. Purchase wisely today!

Day 2, giving not taking

August 8, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

Taking and Giving: Prayer for Day 2

It is easy to be negative about what is happening in the world. The media will not allow anyone to be positive in today’s culture. Often, we as Christians become pessimistic about anything good possibly happening.

God is never negative. He is honest and often very frank when it comes to showing you the truth about a situation or the condition of your life, but He always offers a way to make good things happen. We too often are “takers not givers” when it comes to God’s purposes for our life. We take salvation for granted and we offer excuses when we are asked by God to do something about a particular situation.

I have heard the excuse “I am just too busy” when God approaches us to support the Body of Christ. We say, “It is the pastor’s job or our church handles that or the traditional excuse, ‘I am not called to do that’.” The truth of the matter is that once you are born into the Body of Christ (being ‘born again’) you become responsible for everyone else in the Christian brotherhood of believers. You cannot divorce oneself from the unity that is only found in Christ.

If you are not willing to exercise the character trait of giving, then you are no good to God. You make yourself an enemy of the Gospel of Christ not a supporter of God’s purposes. I am not talking about money! I am talking about time and energy. The church needs more people who give from their time and energy rather than their money. Unity spoken in the Bible is not about ‘the giving of money’ but the caring for each other (which of course would include financial support at times).

The truth is we love more what we are doing rather than loving God with our time. I have said to God often, “I do not have time for this” when God was asking me to stop what I was doing and help someone in need. I would think that someone else would step up to the task of helping. God wants me to act when He asks me to do something for others.

Elisha was in the same place all of us have experienced. When God called him to minister, Elisha knew what he had to do. He loved to plow in the fields, and he loved his oxen. Elisha sacrificed his oxen on the fire, which he burned with the oxen’s yoke. He said goodbye to his family and then ran to God and the ministry within the children of God. He knew he had to do this so he would not go back to farming and fail at God’s calling on his life. What will you do? Will you give of your time and heart?

God has called me to speak to the dry bones that lie buried in L.A. (Ezekiel 37). God wants to resurrect all the movements of revival that were so prevalent in southern California for decades. Those times of revival that sweep L.A. and touched the rest of America. God wants to bring back alive, all at one time for one purpose, these dry bones of revival. This revival is meant to introduce the next great awakening (spiritual movement) that will continue for years in America. America, you have no idea what is about to come upon every person, every family, every organization, or every business.

I am giving you a chance to be part of the purposes of God: to believe in the truth of Christ, to see Jesus like you have never seen Him before, and to take time to connect to the Body of Christ. Now is your opportunity to give, not take! Pray Ezekiel 37: that the dry bones rise from the ashes of time (resurrection), that the bones connect to each other (unity), that the bones have flesh on them and become alive (the Spirit moving among the Body of Christ). This is how we should pray—prayers that make things happen according to Scripture and the purposes and commands of God.

When you respond with a willing heart and pray expecting, God will move heaven and earth to answer and perform His will. Become a giver, be a person of faith; turn your selfishness into selflessness and see God take L.A. by ‘the storm’ of His Holy Spirit.

Prayer for the days ahead

August 7, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

Prayer for the Day(s)

As I told you in yesterday’s article, “Lord, this cannot be!”, that God is sending a revival to L.A. Why, I am not sure, but according to Scripture God gives us a change to repent and perform His will prior to any Godly judgement. Judgement will come but revival comes before judgment. God is a just God and He shows forgiveness before His acts of punishment.

So, with this in mind, I have a prayer for you. To pray this prayer as often as you are moved by the Spirit of God. Even if you are not connected to L.A. or like California, you should be praying. I have written before that the next movement of God’s Spirit—the next great spiritual awakening in America, will first take place with the Winds of God blowing from the West coast to the East coast and then it will bounce back to the Western states as a fire sweeping across American from the Atlantic states to the Pacific Ocean.

What you receive and what you expect will depend on what God does first in California. Therefore pray! Pray facing L.A. If you are in L.A. get on a hill overlooking the L.A. area and pray. If you live where you cannot see L.A. pray facing it. Pray and keep praying as long as the Spirit of God is falling on you. It is one thing to say God is sending a revival and another thing to make it happen. I have no time for prophets that talk only and do not make things happen. They do harm to the Body of Christ. I am standing with you and praying with you. God is calling us to make this happen—God is asking us “How much to you care and what is your level of faith?”

I have already begun to do this and each time I pray God shows up with His presence and power. It is wonderful to pray knowing you are praying God’s will and operating in truth knowing that your prayers are changing things.

Pray Ezekiel 37:

Pray and prophesy in your prayers upon these dry dead bones that are buried in L.A. (these are past activities of God that are no longer present in L.A.), and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus, saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live.

Cause the Spirit of God to once again move over L.A. To cause spiritual life to be rebirth and for lives that are dead to become alive

It is time to pray and watch what God can do with dead bones. It is only Jesus that can do this, and it is marvelous in our eyes.
