Are you prepared for darkness?

April 7, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

Getting Prepared for Darkness

I am talking about the darkness! About the evil that will reign over all the earth before Christ’s return. Are you prepared? Jesus talked about the event of His return and what to expect prior to His coming back. It will not be a happy-time nor will it be easy (Jesus said), but one can be prepared and ready for Christ’s return. Here are some character traits we must all have in order for you to stay connect to what God is planning. These traits come from the Sermon on the Mount and can be applied to everyone no matter where you are in your walk with Christ. They come from Matthew chapter 5:

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Each of the Eight Beatitudes get harder as one works down the list. Jesus did not make things easy, but He made a way for all of us to serve God acceptable and with love. These character traits must be part of each Christian before one can become ‘an overcomer’ in the last days. Let me explain what these traits are:

One, to be poor in spirit is to be in a constant state of repentance and looking for forgiveness for oneself. The Holy Spirit will always find things in your life that need to be cleaned and forgiven. This is realized only through repentance and the working of forgiveness in your life.

Two, to mourn is standing in the gap for others; finding forgiveness for them. Just as you found forgiveness for yourself, now you are interceding for others and finding forgiveness for them.

Three, to be meek is to have a healthy self-esteem. You are not trying to make yourself a “somebody”, but you are content in being a nobody (by worldly standards). You give others praise and honor and refuse to accept praise that you are important or that by your own efforts you made something good happened. You are not selfish, hateful, nor is your self-worth based on how good I look, how smart I am, or how much money I make. You remember what Jesus said that “Only God is good.” As Jesus was meek so are you by not accepting praise from man, but only from your Father in heaven.

Four, one needs to be always hungry for more of God. We are never satisfied with “yesterday’s mana”. We cannot get enough of God. God will and wants always to give us more of Him and be more like Him daily, weekly and yearly.

Five, this one is easy. Show mercy all the time! May your words and actions give mercy to others just as God has given you mercy. Be like God!

Six, “make a pure heart in me oh God”. If you allow God to search your heart, then your heart will become perfect before Him. You will never see God without a perfect heart—a perfect heart is a pure heart. Your motives and reasons for doing things should be based in God’s righteousness. I find this the most difficult thing to do by American Christians.

Seven, being a peacemaker is not a person that makes peace but a person that desires and works toward unity in the Spirit. Jesus never planned to bring peace on the earth, but He always talked about His people being in unity. It is the unity of the Spirit that brings peace.

Eight, want to make it to heaven, then allow yourself to be persecuted for Christ’s sake. In America that is usually “character assassination and financial ruin”. Some day we may experience persecution as Jesus and the early Disciples experienced but persecution comes in many forms and degrees—so get comfortable with it—this is your ticket to heaven.

Having these qualities will prepare you for darkness. There will be light in your life when all the earth is standing in darkness—Jesus will be your light within you.

You might not like this?

March 30, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

You Might Not Like What I Am About to Say

I stated in the March 20th article, that “my writings are going to change; my purpose in the Body of Christ is going to change. Everything God has given and is doing in my life will be to prepare the Body of Christ for darkness, the manifestation of evil, and the destructive events that will come upon the earth. I am to get the Body of Christ ready for Christ’s return.”

Christ might not come back in my lifetime, but He is coming during the generation of my grandkids. Yes, it could be anytime during the next 100 years. I do not know, nor could I guess when Christ will return—not the season, time or day! But I can prepare you for the darkness that will come. God is bringing darkness upon the earth. This is part of His judgment by “placing all things under the feet of Christ." It will become so dark before His return that no one in the Body of Christ will be able to do the works of Christ. Satan will reign over all things, and only with the patience of the Holy Spirit will we become overcomers having oil in our lamps to be able to meet Christ in the air when He comes.

Every article/message that I write will be within this context—Jesus is Coming! I am called to help you get ready and so that nothing catches you by surprise. I want you to make it to heaven; I want you to come with me where there are no tears or broken hears; no sickness or pain. So here is my first message to all who read my blogs/emails.

People are good at hiding their sin. Jesus said, "Blessed are those who are poor in spirit." This means blessed are those who are in a constant state of repentance, allowing the Holy Spirit to bring us into repentance and good works continually. David said it like this, "See if there be any wicked way in me." God wants us to search ourselves daily and have all transgressions, evil motives, hidden sins, or any other behavior that is contrary to God’s righteousness to be removed from our lives.

We hide our sins and evil behavior. We do this through having friends that give their acceptance to our poor behavior or attend churches that do call us to repent of corrupt lifestyles that do not honor Christ, or we do not change who we are but instead finds reason to justify our unrighteous behavior—we say ‘it does not hurt us or cause problems for me’.

We ‘justify ourselves’ to keep our behavior—we love our sin and therefore do not change. This is one of the deceptions of Satan. He fools us into believing that our sin really does not hurt ourselves nor harms others. Satan said this to Adam and Eve as well as Jesus. Satan wants us to sin and/or keep on sinning. God is trying to redeem us, but He needs us to choose. Our choice in finding forgiveness as a daily process—God wants us to repentant daily and allow the Holy Spirit always to have access to our lives—what we do and what we do not do.

This is why “the revival” that so many individuals and churches want does not come—there is no desire to repent and confess one’s sin. Want a fresh, meaningful and productive life with the Holy Spirit working in your lives with love, joy, and faith—repent and change.

Let’s allow repentance to be grafted into our lives, 24/7. Let’s enable forgiveness to become our second nature. Let’s choose Jesus over our hidden sins. It’s time to experience daily cleansing and wholeness. Let’s become Matthew 5:3 people!

The Interpretation

March 20, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

Interpretation of “A Spiritual Alert”

As I stated in the March 13th article, “Yesterday, for no apparent reason, my spirit became uneasy, as if something without warning was going to happen. I had not been thinking about anything or reading Scriptures that would cause me to feel this urgency. Nevertheless, my spirit is uneasy—it has been now for 2 days. I do not know what is about to happen but it is not good. I of course, since I live in CA, I could think about a possible horrific earthquake or a nuclear blast from Korea or an unexpected epidemic. There are many reasons one could feel as I do, but I cannot tell you at this time what will be coming upon us.”

Then on March 16th, I looked outside one of our kitchen windows and again my spirit became uneasy and God immediately spoke to me saying, “Darkness is coming.” Immediately I knew and understood what my spirit was feeling.

Once I wrote the March 13th article, the uneasy feeling left me. It was not until I asked the Lord why I was feeling uneasy, almost afraid. God wanted me to ask and once I asked the very next day He spoke to me.

Horrible times are coming, times of great destruction and the triumph of evil before Christ’s return. Once the Holy Spirit spoke to me the interpretation of what I was feeling, multiple and specific verses in the Bible began to flood my mind and soul. God was pushing my spirit to not just warn The Body of Christ but He is opening the verses in the Bible as to understanding their meaning, timing, and importance.

As I stated in the March 13th article, “I do not want to scare or worry anyone! But I believe in always being prepared for any emergency. So if you have not taken precautions, now is the time to do so. Also, it is time to claim Scriptures that speak of protection, life, and God’s keeping power. May God protect us in all our “going out and coming in”. My God gives us warnings and “give us peace”. May Christ be with us and “order our steps” on what to do personally and within the Body of Christ. Let’s be proactive and give honor to His Word.”

My writings are going to change; my purpose in The Body of Christ is going to change. Everything God has given and is doing in my life will be to prepare the Body of Christ for darkness, the manifestation of evil, and the destructive events that will come upon the earth. “This is the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our eyes.” Dark days will usher in the Second Coming of Christ and God’s judgment on the earth. You have been warned!

A Spiritual Warning!

March 13, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

A Spiritual Alert

I was not going to write about this but the Spirit of the Lord is not letting me get by without issuing a warning.

Yesterday, for no apparent reason, my spirit became uneasy, as if something without warning was going to happen.

There are many reasons one could feel as I do, but I cannot tell you at this time what will be coming upon us.

Maybe it is just something personal or local or statewide or even nationally. But whatever it is it is not good but frightening. If you hear of something that God has recently warned the Body of Christ about, please let me know. If you have any insight, please email me.

I do not want to scare nor worry anyone! But I believe in always being prepared for any emergency. So if you have not taken precautions, now is the time to do so. Also, it is time to claim Scriptures that speak of protection, life, and God’s keeping power.

May God protect us in all our “going out and coming in”. My God give us warnings and “give us peace”. May Christ be with us and “order our steps” on what to do personally and within the Body of Christ. Let’s be proactive and give honor to His Word.

I am not afraid and neither should you. Christ wants and can keep us in His hands and under the showdown of His wings. This is what I believe for I am not afraid.

Self-esteem crisis

March 12, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

The Self Esteem Crisis

We are in a self-esteem crisis in America. It is easy to recognize but hard to fix. You can see it all around you. People cannot be alone. People are searching for ways to have multiple friends—the more friends one has the greater one’s self-image. What a lie!

We are looking to numbers (number of friends) to bolster up our self-image. The more Facebook friends I have, the more important I am? How many phone numbers are on my smartphone? How big is my blog? How many text messages do I receive in a day? Who called me and how often? These are signs of a failing and unhealthy self-image.

The only way to a healthy self-image is with God’s help. It often comes through parents and close friends. Scripture says it is the second most important attribute one should have after the capability of “making and keeping commitments”.

America, your self-esteem is in shambles and you are looking in all the wrong places for who you really are. Want to find that allusive self-image? It will not be found in numbers, fame, or status. It can only be found in humility, giving, and being an unknown.

Self-esteem is not found in the assurance of “what I have or what I do”. Rather, I am who I am because Christ has made me exist and my existence is in Him. That’s right, my existence is in Christ and is manifested in the Fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, goodness, patience, faith, good works, kindness, and freely helping others. These self-esteem attributes come to us through the Holy Spirit. I exist to manifest them and them alone. This Fruit (attributes) is my ‘ticket’ to your healthy self-esteem.

No wonder America is in a self-esteem crisis, the Fruit of the Spirit is much too far away and scarce among the general population. It is time for healthy self-esteem; it is time for the Holy Spirit to move in the streets of America within the lives of its people.

Want a truly great self-esteem try receiving the activity of the Holy Spirit in your life. It is free for the asking and free to all those who look to Jesus Christ.

A Scriptural Note from Proverbs: Satan will do whatever he can for you not having a healthy and substantial self-esteem. He wants you to never find who you are or even realize what you can be in Christ. Let’s not be ignorant of his plans and motives in what the world offers us. A worldly self-esteem base on numbers does not work.

God, please do not give me more friends, just give me you!

Your past and your future

Evening of March 11, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

In Prayer: your present to your future

As I said earlier in the day, “It is from humility to praying more often with more passion, to finding what God wants us to do.” We must be humble and committed to God, we do this through prayer and responding to what God asks of us. Everything changes when we pray in humility and with the willingness to do what God asks of us. The following story illustrates how much God loves and how God is looking not just at our present situation but our future. God sees us in our past, present, and future. This is how much He loves us!

By: Bobby Conner, Eagles View Ministry

I was ministering in a civic center in Mexico City several years ago. About 50,000 people were packed into the meetings. Through an interpreter, I was preaching about the Lord’s power to do great and mighty things.

As I prayed for people during the ministry time, a dear man cradling a baby girl began walking down the aisle toward me. I looked into the father’s tender eyes and could see his desperate heart’s cry. When I focused on his precious little girl, I understood his pain. With her raven black hair and her sparkling, dark eyes, the baby girl was beautiful—but when she turned the side of her face toward me, what I saw took my breath away. One side of her face was missing. I could see into her mouth, her jaw and tongue were exposed, and saliva was flowing down her dress. Oh, Lord! I gasped. What will you do?

Suddenly, I no longer saw or heard the thousands attending the meeting, but was transported out of the present into the future. I found myself standing in the little girl’s room. She was three or four years old—old enough to realize that she was disfigured—and lying across her bed with her face in a pillow, sobbing.

The scene then changed. The girl was about 10 or 11, standing in the corner of her room with her face against the wall, crying once more. Once again the scene changed and the girl was 15. We were no longer in her room but standing on the curb of an extremely busy street. As the cars and trucks sped past, the girl slowly turned her face toward me. With the most desperate look imaginable, the girl suddenly hurled herself in front of a bus, instantly dying. I began to scream, No, no!

Suddenly I was transported back to the civic center amidst the throng of people, aware of the desperate daddy holding his precious girl. My heart was still pounding from the future events I had just witnessed. I asked the Lord, What do you want me to do?

His response was soft and gentle, Take your thumb and rub it across the side of her missing face. I did just that, extending my thumb and rubbing it across the huge hole in her face.

As I slowly moved my thumb, God grew the little girl a brand new, lovely face! The miracle happened in a split second.

I do not have human words to describe how I felt. My entire body was electric. My legs were so weak I could hardly stand. Then the Lord spoke to me, saying; Bobby do you know why I healed this girl? I simply replied, No Lord! Then He said, Because I am a good God!

He then gave me this passage from Nahum 1:7: The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him.

God cares about your future as much as He cares about your past.

It’s too easy!

March 11, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

It’s Too Easy

It is far too easy to put God on hold. He wants to talk with you but no matter how often He encourages you to pick up the phone and talk/call Him, you have something better or more pressing to do. You think God will always be there so you ‘put God off’.

It is easy too just put off praying, but praying is the first sign of humility—‘to pray’. Jesus prayed often and had to go off by Himself in order to find time to pray. It is no different today. I have had God tell me that I need to pray and not stop praying. He usually says to me, “Don’t stop” or “Pray a little more”. God wants us to pray without ceasing the Bible says.

God does not talk with me unless I am talking to Him. Yes, He says little things to me without warning, but when I need direction or help, He wants me to spend time talking to Him about what is happening. God is a ‘God of relationships’—He is into ‘talking’.

However, I like being busy and like to get things done—done in a hurry. God is not in a hurry, and why should He be in a hurry. This is not to say God is not busy—but God wants me to be busy about what He is doing. This is the conflict, my schedule or God’s schedule? To pray means I am willing to be second fiddle in God’s band. I must humble myself if I am going to pray. Praying means it is not about me but rather my relationship with God. God comes first and I am always second (though God makes me feel like I am first when He answers my prayers).

Scripture states, “Humble yourself and pray, seek God’s face and turn from your evil ways.” To be willing to pray you have to humble yourself. Humility requires a commitment from you and I—we are putting God before our schedule, our goals, and our timeframe.

Jesus had to go off by himself to pray. He usually went up into the mountains, late in the night, to just pray and get close to God. You and I cannot find what God wants us to do without prayer. It is a humbling experience. It is an attitude of commitment. A commitment to humbling oneself comes before one prays to God.

I encourage you to make a promise to yourself, not to God, to pray more often by praying longer and pray while no one is around. It is from humility to praying more often with more passion, to finding what God wants us to do. From humility to prayer to direction is when God shows up in our lives. My gosh, a little more time in prayer and then watch God answer all our needs, address our problems and find purpose in living. God keeps His promises; let’s keep ours through prayer without ceasing. It’s a Jesus thing!

Character building for the month of March & April

March, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

March 2019

A character of the Month Series

Are you thinking what to give up for Lent? You can do the traditional method of fasting—no food or a particular food dish for 40 days. But, why not be more proactive! Here are some suggestions for what to go without for the next 40 days, or better yet, possibly to go without for 100 days, maybe until the end of this year, or even for the rest of your life.

1. Do not listen to newscasts. Let public opinion be not on your plate—keep negativism out of your life.

2. Refrain from Facebook! Do not allow gossip and sensationalism to have a place in your life.

3. Do not just give up a particular food but avoid all food that has sugar in it—this includes Starbucks coffee. Sugar has nothing good in it. Honey can be a healthier food additive for you to consume.

4. Turn off your TV and pick up a book instead. There are so many good character building books and stories that can inspire and encourage you. Why not read into a happier life.

5. Go out of your way each day to do a good deed to a stranger or family member. Plan for making sure you do good deeds every day for the next 40 days and I bet you will continue the giving habit for the rest of your life.

6. Make it a point to say, “I love you” to each and every family member each day! Do not let yourself go to sleep, no matter the effort to show love and express love even though you are tired or mad. You must be genuine in your words—mean what you say!

7. So not buy anything for yourself. If you purchase something, it has to be for others. Put your life on hold for others.

These are my suggestions. I am sure Jesus would be pleased if you did anyone or a combination of the suggestions. This is what He would want me to do.

The Rags to Riches Series

February 25, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

Prosperity

Series: From Rags to Riches in Christ

Prosperity, God’s way, is not a dream. True prosperity is a reality for countless people in the Body of Christ. God wants you to prosper in every way in your walk on this earth (spiritually, physically, and financially), but God is not just handing out money. His ultimate goal is the manifestation of the Kingdom of God on earth and for you to make it to heaven. What you do with what God gives you is much more important than how much He gives you.

Everything God gives us is to multiply—this is the ‘multiplication principle’ that is spoken of so much in the Bible. Not multiplying is the direct opposite of and failing in responding to God’s best for your life. We must express and demonstrate God’s will in every aspect of your everyday life. This can only be done through multiplication.

There were seasons in my life whereby I prospered above my equals and other times I was a pauper. I have been blessed with abundance and found myself with the poor and needy. However, this is a season for abundance and prosperity. As I have written about before, God has given America a season of financial blessings so are you going to be blessed? God spoke to me 4 years ago about the “8 no 10 years of financial blessing” coming to America. It is upon us but it is your choice to how much you are blessed and the length of the blessing.

There are principles for prosperity, which I will be writing about in this new series, “From Rags to Riches in Christ.” It is so critical that you prosper and multiply during the next 7 years that I decided to write about ‘becoming wealthy in Christ’. In fact, it is a principle in the Book of Proverbs. God wants us to prosper, so let’s multiply.

To prosper one has to educate oneself, understand the ‘soul principle’, learn to give freely, claim the promises of God, be positive and expecting, and be vigilant to save money and get out of debt. Remember this is the time for spiritual, physical, and financial prosperity. To prosper one might have to change how you think and redefine what is important. To prosper should make you a better person, a just person, and a happier person.

So stay with me for the next few articles and see how God and you can be blessed in who you are and what you do—What would Jesus want me to do?

History Changers

February 22, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

Changing History

Series: The Just & Ethical Person

It is the ‘just person’ that changes history. As I have told you before, God only uses the just person to accomplish His will. God desires His will to be done and it is Satan that constantly works to undermine God’s will, seeking darkness and evil to reign over God’s creation.

The question is, “Are you a history changer?’ Are you that just person that accomplishes God’s will in history, thereby changing history for the good of all mankind? You cannot change history for the better unless you are a just person. It is impossible!

Let’s review the qualities of a just person. A just person (JP) is not critical and does not seek to ridicule or place others in harm’s way. A JP can hear the voice of God, either directly, in dreams or visions, through angels or through others in the Body of Christ. A JP is bold and courageous, willing to stand against those who seek to undo God’s will. A JP answers the call to do God’s will—a JP is a person of faith, one who responds to God’s requests.

It takes a JP to shape and change history. Only a JP does God trust to do the big things in the Kingdom of God. Joseph protected Jesus when Jesus could not protect Himself. Ruth was willing to give up her lifestyle and become a woman of faith in order to become the grandmother of King David and indeed the mother of The Kingdom of Israel. Peter brought the Baptism of the Holy Spirit to the Gentiles at the beginning of the New Testament Church, which was made up of Jews only. (Jews thought the Holy Spirit was only for the Jewish nation.) All these just persons were history changers not only in his or her lifetime but forever!

What is your calling? Are you a just person who can bring the will of God into the affairs of man and change history? It is only a JP that God can trust with His calling, His will, and the Kingdom of God on earth. It’s time to change history for Jesus—it’s time to be a JP.
