The Jesus Crisis

The Jesus Crisis

We have a ‘Jesus Crisis’ in America. Yes, we know about Jesus but not the Jesus who is “the same yesterday, today, and forever.” My soul cries within me for the Church. Jesus will end up saying, “I never knew you” to church members who did the works of the Holy Spirit but did not see Jesus through the eyes of love with their whole hearts.

The Jesus Crisis is the single most troubling problem for today’s church. Oh, we know the Jesus of the New Testament but the words of Jesus spoken while He walked this earth seem to fall on deaf ears. Indeed, the Jesus of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, which was written by John the Apostle in the last book of the Bible, The Revelation of Saint John the Divine, is not the Jesus that most of the Church worship.

It is that Jesus, the ‘Jesus of forever’, which is missing today in America. Do not say, “I believe in Jesus,” “I do the works of the Holy Spirit,” “I am not like other Christians.” Rather, begin to cry—cry with such sincerity and passion. You must go off by yourself with no one around and cry for your own sins, unbelief, and lack of knowledge. Cry for others that also have not found the Jesus of forever. Do not stop crying till the Holy Spirit finishes God’s work of repentance in your life.

It is this Jesus that we must find, “And I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; And in the middle of the seven candlesticks one like to the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the breasts with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like to fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two-edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shines in his strength. And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand on me, saying to me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that lives, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death” The Revelation, 1:12-18.

Yes Church, you are in a ‘Jesus Crisis’ and only through great crying, the search for repentance, and the washing of the blood of Jesus Christ that you can find healing and forgiveness. It is this Jesus, the Forever Jesus, which we must find. The Spirit Says Come! Our spirits must reply and say, “Yes Lord, I come!”

Wearing Armor

January 8, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

Are You Standing?

Armor of God will be critical for 2019. As I stated in the previous article, 2019 will be a year of battles. I have experienced many battles already and there are more to come. Satan will be coming against us like a roaring lion but Jesus is standing next to us. Let’s not be afraid.

You cannot just put anyone’s armor. It has to be yours, your size and style of armor. David could not put on Saul’s armor and neither can you be dressed in armor that is not yours. It is one thing to find your armor and another thing to be prepared and dressed in armor. Here are some helpful tips in wearing God’s armor.

One, get clean. God is offering this year to be renewed and cleaned. Not the normal forgiveness but forgiveness that cleanses your heart, strength, soul, and mind. A total regeneration and washing of water from heaven that will move you to days, weeks, even months of crying tears. God does not put armor on lives that are not clean.

Two, get strong. A body needs to have the strength to carry the armor of God. Your strength will come with having the joy of the Lord. It is time for rejoicing! It is a time for singing! It is a year to proclaim all that the Lord wants to do. You cannot do battle without armor and the strength to carry the armor—so get joy!

Three, get knowledge. Got armor, got strength, then get knowledge on how to battle with the armor of God. Knowledge can only come with the Bible—the words of God—working in your life. Immerse yourself in the Bible this year. Read through the whole Bible. Every day read the Scriptures and memorize a verse or passage. If you do not know how to fight there is no need to ‘suit up’ with the armor of God. It is with the knowledge of God that we fight.

Let’s stand clean before the Lord in knowledge, strength, and armor in 2019.

I Have Hope & Purpose

January 7, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

A Life Without Ignorance; A Future With Hope

Ignorance causes destruction to the people of God. We do not need another newscast or access to a new strategy, but we need truth and the acquisition of spiritual knowledge. Not the scholarly or academic method of learning but the spiritual inspiration that incorporates wisdom and discretion that brings hope and life.

I will be writing a series of short articles that will dispel ignorance and bring you insight to move forward in Christ during 2019. This is a pivotal year for the Church. Each year has been important since Christ’s death and resurrection but His Second Coming is ‘around the corner’. We must be prepared so the day of His coming does not catch us unprepared and in a state of surprise. 2019 will be important in so many ways—let’s get prepared.

There have been many articles and words from various ‘Christian voices’ about next year. After review of these “prophetic words” this is what I believe the Spirit is saying to the churches.

Joe Dawson says, “I believe 2019 will be the most powerful year the Church has seen in a long time. You will start to see some old church structures and denominations begin to fade and wither away. Now is the time for the Kingdom of God, apostolic and prophetic minded churches, revival hubs and ministries to start to thrive. God told me that 2019 is the year of the family.”

Helen Calder, Melbourne, Australia, says, “2019 will be a ‘Year of Release’. ‘Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it?’ (Isaiah 43:18-19 NKJV). 2019 is a year of release from past pain and limitations that have held you back.”

Dr. Theresa Phillips says, The Spirit of the Lord then spoke to me, ‘Theresa, the glory that is about to come is GREATER than the former glory you have seen. Be ready, be sober, and be vigilant for the enemy will try to steal it. 1 Peter 5:8, ‘Be sober, and be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour…’. I looked up and could feel rain, like a misty rain, which I knew was from His presence. A washing had begun. As I started to listen this Scripture came alive: ‘I have wiped out your transgressions like a thick cloud and your sins like a heavy mist. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you’ (Isaiah 44:22).”

Anne Marie Molster and Amie Rogers say that 2019 is a Proverbs 10 year.

They state, “The Lord says, ‘You are on the brink of production! You are moving out of the hands of the enemy’s destruction. He has tried to kill and destroy the very purpose for which I created you! You are breaking free from the tethers that bind you! As I restore your time, you will be able to expedite the tasks at hand with newfound energy, creativity and resources. You shall enter into a place where your needs are met. Time and materials will be at your fingertips! What was lost, shall be found—AND MULTIPLIED’!”

The prophetic words go on from many people and they say the same things. This is what they are saying: a year of unity and shaking, a year of being shielded from evil, a year of explosive growth and great revelation, a year of receiving the unexpected, a pivotal year of the working of God, a year of harvest, a year of the multiplication of power, and a year of proclamation. All of this is in preparation for what God is planning in future years starting in 2020.

I believe this is a year of Battles and Healings. We will be in a constant battle against evil—so put on the armor of God. It will also be a year of healing—physical, spiritual, relationships, family, financial, and mentally. What God has promised us He will complete in our lives this year. But victory will not come without cost. If we are not strong and courageous then you will not take the mountain God had planned for you. It is time to fulfill the purposes and promises God has made to you. So be expecting and hopeful. It is your hope in Christ that will accomplish what God wants to do in 2019.

2019

January 1, 2019 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

2019

My good friend, Dave Hauser of the International Healing Rooms (director of the western states), was in prayer before the Lord early this morning and God gave him a word for 2019. Here is the word of hope and confidence that the Spirit of God gave him. God says:

Before everything, “Come before me in praise and thanksgiving,” the Spirit says. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless His name, Psalms 100:4. We must come before the Lord wherever we find Him, with a motivation to praise and bless the Lord.

First, God says let go of your past and look to the future that I have prepared for you, “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert” Isaiah 43:18-19.

Second, start with repentance, Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me” Psalm 51:10. We must in and stay in a state of repentance and confession.

Third, remember and humble yourself, look not to yourself to perform the Lord’s will. Just acknowledge and remembers the words of the Lord. “Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts” Zechariah 4:6.

This is our position for 2019. We will seek the Lord at this time when He can indeed be found. We will let go of ourselves and acknowledge that it is the Lord our strength and salvation. This is what Jesus wants me to do in 2019.

I’m not into it!

Wise Men Still Seek Him

Final Article for Christmas 2018

I’m Not Into It

I am not into New Year’s resolutions. No one ever keeps them and it seems more like an exercise in pride and self-will. However, if you are planning to make a New Year’s resolution, may I suggest the following options. These three resolutions will indeed make you and others around you better persons.

One, get out of debt. You have 5 to 7 years to get your finances in order. Take the next 5 years and pay off all your debts. Begin to live on cash alone. Do not buy anything you cannot pay off at the time or at the end of the month. God does not want us in debt and hard times are coming so ‘learn to save’ each month even though it might only be a little. Then after the 5-year plan is complete of getting out of debt, save lots of money. You will need money to live on after 2025 when financial disaster hits America. You have 7 years, so begin in 2019 to become self-sufficient financially.

Two, learn to take care of your soul. If there is one thing Americans do not do is nurturing one’s soul. All of society is full of darkness and evil. We pollute our souls by just living in America. We need to do things that will cause our soul to become strong and vibrant. Begin to worship the Lord with your soul and listen to the Bible being read to you. Do this each and every day. Take care of your soul and it will give you the strength and patience to survive in the last days.

Three, take time to read good books instead of watching TV. I suggest you begin by reading “Raising Giant-Killers” by Bill Johnson. It is not only good for every parent who wants their children to be great adults but the principles in this book will empower every person no matter how old you are to serve the Lord and fulfill your calling in Christ.

So this year, 2019, make it a great year in the Lord and become closer to Jesus by making Him your friend.

Christmas Story

December 29, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

Wise Men Still Seek Him

Article #9 Christmas 2018

A good friend in the Christ, Timothy, sent this Christmas testimony to me. The story is about his family and the faithfulness of the Lord. Praise be to the Lord!

Happy Christmas Ever After!

What is Christmas Ever After? We are glad you asked. Trekiah mentioned the other day that we have Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so why not have Christmas After. Yes, we agreed as a family that Christ’s birth did give us the happiest ever after. And now we wanted to share our inaugural Christmas Ever After celebration with you.

Several years ago we shared about Zebediah’s answered prayers for a bunny, tarantula, and a kitten. Zeb is our prayer warrior and recently started praying for guinea pigs against his parent’s wishes. God is so faithful to honor Zeb’s perseverance, and he was offered 5 guinea pigs for free from the pet store. What?!? Zeb’s childlike faith and trust in God’s goodness is a continual blessing.

Zebediah is our faith-filled prayer warrior. With newfound faith, Catherine asked Zeb to start praying for an Amish table with rounded corners and pedestal legs that would seat 12 people. You see, we have wanted a table for a while that could seat all our family and a few guests. Catherine has had her eye out for an Amish table, yet with a several-thousand-dollar price tag, it was out of our budget. The very next day lo and behold the exact table that Catherine had been looking for with 4 chairs was on Craigslist with an incredible price, $150. Immediately, we thought that there must be something wrong, or maybe the price was only for one chair. Yet, God kept quietly whispering, “Trust me" and we got it with four chairs in excellent condition, praise God!

Trusting God does not come naturally for many in our family, and our van is our continual reminder to trust God. The van is close to having 100,000 miles and for the last 50,000 miles, it has had transmission issues. Each time the van starts to sputter and jerk we clearly hear God say, “Trust me.” Recently, the van struggled to change gears on the freeway, and all the lights on the dashboard lit up blinking and an alarm sounded. It is hard to trust God when all the indicators say that failure is imminent. In the moment of panic, God’s clear and steady voice calmly said, “Trust me. Do not look at the dashboard. Trust me.”

It is easy to trust God when all is going right. The challenge is to trust him when the lights on life’s dashboard are blinking and alarms are sounding like when you are in the lion’s den, you are shipwrecked, you lose your job, or you are given a terminal medical diagnosis.

Whether it is guinea pigs, kitchen tables, van transmissions, or life and death situations God whispers, “Trust me.”

We pray that you will notice God’s unexpected and extravagant gifts in your life this next year as you walk in trust with him each day.

The Sword and Division

December 27, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

Wise Men Still Seek Him

Article #8 Christmas 2018

Divided by the Lord’s Sword

“God’s ways are not our ways,” the Bible says. So what we want or care to deal with is the opposite of what God planning to do. We often want it easy, no conflict. We like things easy without those ‘bumps in the road’. But God has a totally different plan and purpose in the completion of His will. If you want Christ to return, you better plan on earth that will be in total disarray without order and in chaos on every level of society.

Jesus made this statement in the Gospels, “And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and you shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure to the end, the same shall be saved” (Matthew 24:6-13). He went on to say, “And you shall be betrayed both by parents, and brothers, and kinfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. And you shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake” (Luke 21:16-17).

Finally Jesus makes this statement in Luke 21:25-26, “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.”

Why is such tragedy needed? Why is God willing to destroy the earth and all of mankind before His coming? It is embedded in this statement, “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. He that loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that takes not his cross, and follows after me, is not worthy of me” (Matthew 10:34-38).

Christ came to divide and He is dividing today. Everything will be divided before Christ’s return—families, cultures, organizations, governments—everything! There will be no unity except within the Body of Christ and the unity of the Holy Spirit. Churches will become divided: there will be no church building standing before Christ’s return. It will be solely the unity in the Spirit that will bring people together to love one another.

I see division everywhere around me. The world is driven to divide itself and it is seen so clearly in today’s politics in America. Christ’s sword is moving faster than the church can stay up with finding unity in the Spirit. Unity can only be found in the Fruits of the Spirits. Want unity then begin to operate in the Holy Spirit. Christ sword is meant to divide so that unity can only be realized within the Holy Spirit.

My Soul Has Hope

December 26, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

Wise Men Still Seek Him

Article #7 Christmas 2018

Where’s My Hope?

We are often in such turmoil that we cannot find nor recognize hope when it is right in front of us. We struggle in our blindness and it is the darkness that seems to fill our every thought while despair steals any ray of hope from piercing our souls.

Those days are over for anyone who can believe in Jesus Christ. If we would tell our soul to worship the Lord and reach out to the Father with our soul, hope will not only come like a flood into your life but it will change the circumstances that have caused you to be imprisoned.

Without hope, we are indeed lost and loneliness has become our personal prison. I can tell you with sincerity and with great truthfulness that Christ has heard your prayers and hope will not only come in the songs you sing to the Father but in your dreams, visions, and acts of compassion you give freely to others.

How can this be true, you ask? I am looking for hope from God but do not see it. There is disappointment and failure all around me. I can tell you with assurance that when we use and command our soul to reach out to God, God replies with urgency and power. God knows that it is our soul that needs hope and without Him rescuing our soul we are like ‘dead men walking’.

Satan knows that it is your soul that centers around your life in Christ. He attacks your soul whenever he can, and seeks only to destroy you from the inside out. Here are some truths and steps you can take to turn your darkness into light and hope.

One, tell God “my soul needs hope and salvation—God save my soul.”

Two, speak to your own soul as David did to his and remind your soul to “Praise the Lord.” It is in praise and worship that your soul finds strength. Turn on Christian music that causes your soul to “leap within you.”

Three, Discover the Scriptures (specific Bible verses) that speak about your soul and how important it is. Claim these promises; say these verses out-loud to yourself. Say them to yourself while you look at yourself in the mirror. Do not be shy but allow the words of God promises travel from your voice to your ears into your soul.

Four, wait with expectancy for hope to raise your soul from the depths of hell that has entrapped it. Hope will arise in your life and your soul will become alive with joy, ready to serve Jesus Christ.

“Awake o my soul, arise to praise the Lord. It is the Lord who is my hope and joy. It is the Lord who alone will redeem my soul so I may dwell in the House of the Lord forever.”

Article #7 Christmas 2018

He Was Born for You, Me & Us

Who is this person that was born for us? This is who He is:

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given: and the government shall be on his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, on the throne of David, and on his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from now on even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.” (Isaiah 9: 6-7)

But what will He do for us? How will I recognize Him? This is what He promised:

"The Lord will provide" (Genesis 22:13-14)

"The Lord that healeth" (Exodus 15:26)

"The Lord our Banner" (Exodus 17:8-15)

"The Lord our Peace" (Judges 6:24)

"The Lord is the Way, my Shepherd" (Psalm 23:1)

This is why I sing at Christmas. This is why I celebrate Christmas. This is why there is a Christmas.

His Name Is Jesus!

Nervousness & Faith

December 21, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve, the son of John

Wise Men Still Seek Him

Article #5 Christmas 2018

Faith’s Demise

I thought for years that fear was the opposite of faith. That is what I was taught by most preachers. However, I could not find that truth stated plainly in the Bible. God has been pressuring me to reconsider what hinders faith. I am surprised by what the Spirit was teaching me. Not only have I reconsidered what stops faith from working but also once I began to operate in this truth, my faith began to increase dramatically.

It all began with Psalm 23. I have memorized most of it over the years but it began with a small portion of the Psalm, “He restores my soul.” Jesus said to love God with all your soul, and also, be afraid of God who is able to destroy both the body and soul. Our soul has tremendous importance. David talked about telling his soul to magnify and worship the Lord. Last of all, Jesus says that only in having patience is one able to keep one’s soul in the trials and tribulation in the last days (Book of Revelation).

It is easy to become nervous in today’s society. The news media will only promote a storyline if it creates uncertainty in our lives. Gossip breeds upon what is wrong or events we cannot change. The world tells us to do this or refrain from that—if we do not then we are told trouble will begin to engulf our lives. This is done on so many levels of our culture that it is impossible to avoid nervousness, uncertainty, worry, fear, and thoughts of being stupid or endanger. We are being manipulated by evil and the purposes of Satan. (Proverbs says, “Fret not thyself because of evil men.” Good advice in today’s America.)

We know that sickness comes upon us when we worry or continue in a state of nervousness. It destroys not only our spirit and soul but our body as well. The Holy Spirit began to bring to my consciousness every time I became the least bit nervous—whenever I began to ‘fret’ over something. I could be watching the Weather Channel about ‘weather gone wild’ become nervous and the Holy Spirit said, “Don‘t be nervous Steve.”

I was amazed how often I became nervous—it was destroying my spirit, my life, and my faith. Here are some synonyms for nervousness: agitated, restless, excited, shy, timid, upset, disturbed, shaken, rattled, high-strung, flustered, tense, jittery, strained, edgy, perturbed, fearful (and the list goes on). Antonyms are placid, courageous confidant, calm tranquil, composed and bold (sounds like faith’s attributes).

God proved to me that my faith became ineffective once I became nervous. If you do not become nervous then you can sleep in a boat during a raging storm or walk on water during a summer storm. I could see visions of victory against my enemies when I am not nervous and even say, “It is well with my soul” when circumstances tell me just the opposite. Do I still get nervous—I’m working on that, but this one thing I know; my faith has increased dramatically now that I stop myself from becoming nervous over anything? What kills faith from working? It is nervousness; nervousness is faith’s demise.
