Lincoln’s Prayer, Your Prayer

April 30, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Lincoln’s Quote

Have you been praying? I stated in past articles that this is your season of prayer. Without your prayers God will not act—He is waiting for you! He wants to see your passion, your brokenness, your determination, and your will to see God’s will to be done.

Did you know what President Lincoln proclaimed on April 30th at the height of the Civil War? This is just a portion of what he requested of all Americans to do.

“It behooves us, then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.

Now, therefore, in compliance with the request, and fully concurring in the views of the Senate, I do by this my proclamation designate and set apart Thursday, the 30th day of April 1863, as a day of national humiliation, fasting, and prayer. And I do hereby request all the people to abstain on that day from their ordinary secular pursuits and to unite at their several places of public worship and their respective homes in keeping the day holy to the Lord and devoted to the humble discharge of the religious duties proper to that solemn occasion.”

I hope you have been praying! You will need to pray like a watchman who stands on the wall and declares what he sees and warns all others of the coming battle. If you are not this type of warrior then you need to repent and begin to pray like you have never prayed before. This is what Jesus wants us to do—this is your season of prayer.

It takes 2’s and 3’s

April 21, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Two or Three Witnesses

Ministries always need verification

I am always looking for confirmations within the Body of Christ to what God is either doing or saying in my life. It is easy to go astray and misinterpret what the Spirit is saying to the Church. I like to be careful.

After the series of warnings I placed on my blog on Friday, I began to look for verification/confirmation to what I believed God was speaking to me. I like to get the timing and wording correct. The last thing I want to do is mislead Christians into confusion and error.

Immediately this morning, an article came to me about prayer, and I received other messages about the ‘moving of the Holy Spirit’. God is always kind to me and cares about my confidence in Him. So, what I wrote about yesterday, God is confirming today!

God is always good and He sends witnesses to confirm what He is saying to His Church. This is wisdom in action. Wisdom always comes in twos or threes. Wisdom demands verification and confirmation. (There is so much about wisdom I would like to share with you.)

If you are not praying like you have never prayed before, preparing to fight like you have never fought before, and seeking wisdom to a depth which you have never experienced before, you are in trouble. Read Friday’s articles about Warnings, it could save your life from serious harm. (www.wwjwmtd.com)

The third warning

April 20.9, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Third Warning!

It will take wisdom to overcome evil.

There is a third warning—it will be wisdom operating in our lives that will overcome, identify, and conquer evil. (Romans 8:37)

Wisdom is given to us to identify evil, to know good from evil, to understand what is right and wrong, and to keep oneself from becoming overcome with evil.

If I had the full Armor of God and had confidence in my fight against evil I will still need wisdom to guide me in the battle. I would ask the Lord for the Gift of Wisdom. Only the Gift of Wisdom can guide us to the proper decisions, using the correct knowledge, and finding the discretion to be overcomers.

It takes wisdom to step out of the boat and into the storm. It takes wisdom while carrying the Ark of the Covenant (the promises of God) to step into the waters when the waters are raging in the river. It takes wisdom to see what can happen when the Lord is with you—the waters parting under your feet or the ability to walk through a raging storm.

This is the wisdom King Solomon wrote about in Proverbs and Jesus talked about in the Gospels. If you are to survive while the storm rages around you or while the darkness encompasses the world around you—you need the wisdom of God.

Only a foolish person does not hear the winds of heaven blowing across America and hear the sound of rain in the distance. But where the Lord is working His will, so does the evil one (Satan) begin to blow his winds with dust in the air to cause confusion and darkness.

It is this evil that Satan is causing which we must stand against. Wherever the Lord works, Satan is trying to duplicate his purposes—as Pharaoh’s wise men did to Moses.

Do not be confused, “The Kingdom of God suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.” (Matthew 11:12) Pray that the Gift of Wisdom works in your life. It is time to stir up this gift. It is time to call out for God’s wisdom. The wisdom of God will guide you in the battle against evil. God’s wisdom that is pure will reign over Satan’s wisdom that is full of pride, lies, and confusion.

Pray for the wisdom of God in order to overcome the wisdom of evil.

The second warning

April 20.5, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Second Warning!

God said, warn my people at noon.

As I was praying the Holy Spirit spoke to me, “Do not consider the evil.”

God is warning us to not even consider the evil that is coming upon us.

Not only does the Lord want us to pray like you have never prayed before, but to protect yourself from the evil!

· Do not consider the evil.

· Do not be envious of the evil.

· Do not allow the evil to enter into your decision process.

· Do not listen to or look upon the evil.

· Do not allow the evil to affect your spirit or to reside in your heart for a second.

We must run from the evil and use the Armor of God to fight against the evil. You and I must be proactive. The evil will even be disguised as good and right. Do not allow your natural wisdom to be accepting of this evil.

The evil is not only dark but will show itself as light. Ask God to protect “your going out and your coming in.” Whenever you move or wherever you go, it is God alone who will protect you. You can count on Jesus to go not only before you but to be with you.

The watchman stands on the wall and calls out when evil approaches.

Warning to pray

April 20, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Warning, Warning!

Last night the Holy Spirit spoke to me, “Pray for protection from evil.”

I felt in my spirit that this word was for me, Californians and Americans no matter where you lived or what you’re circumstances were.

Please pray that evil does not touch you or your family, friends, and members of the Body of Christ.

Evil is coming—is advancing upon us. This evil I could not identify if it is from individuals doing Satan’s bidding, people with the mark of the beast, or Satan and his evil angels & spirits.

Please be wise that even God does send judgment among us, and His judgment looks like evil at times. Remember Exodus chapter 12. God sent ‘a destroyer’ to kill without mercy.

Please pray for the ‘washing of God’s water’, for ‘Christ’s blood to cover all of us’ and God’s covering over our possessions, but most of all pray for ‘protection and deliverance from all evil’.

Pray often, pray with passion, and pray using Scriptures—pray like you have never prayed before!

I have warned you and if I did not warn you then what God is allowing and commanding to happen would be upon my household and me.

Pray!

Three lies that keep you in turmoil

April 10, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Lies We Easily Accept

There are three aspects of lying that enslave any believer: unfilled prophecy, Satan’s deception, and the idea that God does not care.

These three types of lying can enslave any believer and all of us can have any one of these obstacles thrown at us multiple times in our walk with the Lord. Jesus overcame these three temptations and so can you.

Unfilled prophecy: A prophetic word, a portion of Scripture, or a personal message given to us either through the Holy Spirit or a minister/friend in the Body of Christ. We all have been given a personal message from God. Often this message is prophetic in nature and usually very uplifting—usually something that has not taken place in your life but brings you encouragement and great hope.

But we often wait and wait and wait but nothing happens. We doubt what was told us and even God Himself. We lose our hope and begin to drift into despair. We finally accept that nothing will change that we are stuck in our present circumstances. This is a lie! Words of encouragement that God gives us either directly or through others are not based on any timeline. Many people throughout history waited not only days and months but also years and decades. God’s words are meant to be embraced until they are fulfilled. Do not lose hope.

Satan’s deception: This is when Satan comes to you often through people close to you or circumstances he creates. He tempts us into believing what he is saying is true and correct. That if we trust him we will have what we need. The trouble with that is whatever he offers us will only bring us into bondage to him and keep us from doing God’s will. This is why we must keep the Bible in our hearts and God’s promises on our lips. When we fail to be positive, without proper self-esteem, and willing to consider what Satan is telling us, we fail. We fail ourselves and all that God has for us. Satan can only lie, do not believe anything he says.

God does not care: Often we allow ourselves to become despondent or depressed. We think God is not listening or even cares for us. We find ourselves alone and without help or direction. Do not think that God does not see or know where you are at—He keeps track of the number of hairs on your head. I have found from past experience that Christians often find themselves falling into the trap that ‘God does not care’ too many times in the walk with the Lord. I suggest that you do the one thing that brings God nearer to you in these times of self-doubt. Sing songs, read your favorite verses, or just take a walk alone while telling God ‘out-loud’ what is going wrong and where you need His help.

When we realize that these three things destroy our visions, melt away our hopes and bring us into a place of unexercised faith, we will overcome these three deceptions. Jesus did things throughout His ministry to keep Himself close to God and God even closer to Him. Find that place in Christ so you too can begin to destroy the works of the Devil and to bring everything into the subjection of Jesus Christ. This is what Jesus wants me to do!

April’s character of the month series

April, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

It’s Not About Character as It’s About Spirituality

The character of the Month Series

“You only have one problem, being spiritual; and, you do not have any problems, if you are spiritual,” I am committed to this principle in my life.

I, of course, believe in shaping one’s character and helping others to be better people. But, I also know, if one is truly spiritual to the point of being like Jesus (being spiritual enough to do what Jesus wants us to do) that ‘positive character qualities’ would be taken care of.

Indeed, it is easier to shape one’s character traits rather than one’s spiritual qualities. You can fool yourself into being a good and ethical person but one cannot fool God. God sees not only the outward qualities of one’s character behavior but one’s motives, heart & feelings, and the outcomes/consequences of one’s actions before you act them out.

All of us can fool others and ourselves part of the time but fooling God is never an option. This is why I trust in Him. He knows me better than I know myself. God only seeks what is best for me and He allows me to find myself even in times of great guilt and confusion.

God loves me and His love for me is always pure and never self-serving. This is why I am committed to Spiritual Growth and Christ-like Character. If you ask me when I am the happiest, it is when I see Christ in me, the hope of my salvation.

True character is about being like Jesus. Always striving to answer the question, "What would Jesus want me to do, to be, to attain too?"

Happiness

March 25, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

I’m Happy

Can I give you a suggestion for being happy? It is an age-old bit of wisdom—being happy is not what you do not have or what you did not get, but it is in what you presently have.

During this Easter time, we need to think about and express our gratefulness to God for what He has given us. We all would like more from God and wish He had given us more in difficult times but that is not how God works.

He does not give to us what we think we have earned or need, or what we feel we deserve by serving Him. If we trust and follow Him, He gives us what is best for us. He wants us to ‘make heaven our home’ not a home on this earth. God planned from the beginning for all who believe in Him to have a “new heaven and a new earth.”

This present world, we are living in, is imperfect and will be done away with—the old will give way to the new. With this in mind, I can be happy. I will not be discouraged with what I presently do not have in Christ nor what He did not give me when I was struggling. I will be happy no matter where I find myself, in whatever circumstances that surround me.

So during this Easter season, let’s be happy for what purpose and in what condition God has placed us. Yet, I looking forward to having His perfect will for me in every area of my life. Yes, I can sing songs after being persecuted and placed in jail. I can rejoice in being shipped wrecked and hungry on a strange island. I can even be happy knowing that I have done God’s will even though it seems impossible and difficult for me.

Christ was happy and knew God would not leave Him in hell after His crucifixion. Moses was happy in the Sinai Desert knowing that God would lead them to the promised land. Paul was happy and content being in chains for 3 years before making his case before Caesar. Yes, we can be happy no matter where and what time we are in doing the will of Christ.

I am happy in Christ for it is Christ in me that makes me happy. He has not only made a way for me, but He has become ‘the way’ for me. Christ in me; my happiness and joy!

The End

March 24, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Don’t Be Fooled

Jesus is coming back. It is much closer than we would care to consider. I, of course, do not know when nor would I like to guess, but the signs Jesus talked about, are upon us.

I have always been intrigued with what John wrote in his epistle, I John 2: 18, “Little children, it is the last time: and as you have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.” How does one identify the antichrists?

I do not believe one can physically see and realize/identify antichrists unless you love God and keep His commandments. John indeed loved Jesus and wrote often about loving Christ and others, having fellowship with the saints, and keeping the commandments of Christ—especially Christ’s Sermon on the Mount (Matthew chapters 5-8).

If one loves God, you are not blind and have spiritual eyes and thereby able to determine the will of God. If one is still living in sin—without forgiveness and full of self-righteousness—you are not a child of the Father, as John states in his epistles.

As I have said before, God told me, “To open my eyes and see. There are many people who have the mark of the beast on their lives.” Since that time I have been looking for the mark of the beast in people. It is not a physical marking but a spiritual mark that shows itself. I have realized that often it is the people that look happy and successful that display the mark of the beast. I do not see it often in people who are full of sin or demon possessed—it is a choice and state of being—that is why it is not obvious to the common Christian. Many Christians are looking for physical signs and oversimplify the deception of the devil—they will never see the mark of the beast in others.

Yes, there are seemly ordinary and common people who have the mark of the devil in their lives. They are usually people who strive for power and control over others. They are corrupt individuals that will make excuses for their sins and never acknowledge the forgiveness and love of Christ.

The darkness of Satan is more prevalent today than ever before. I see Satan’s thinking processes in many aspects of American society. People no longer think clearly or morally. They follow only their own desires and strive to bring all others into their ‘line of thinking’. It is sad to see this happening and the Church is often unwilling to confront this process of deception.

This is why I know Christ is planning to return shortly. It will become much worse than presently displayed in America. People will more and more love their sin and be willing to accept anything Satan says through those who have the mark of the beast. Christians will lose everything they own and be persecuted for their beliefs. But, it is those that make it to the end, holding on to their faith in Christ—these are the ones that will be saved.

This is what Jesus wants me to do and to make it to the end, by being faithful to Him in trusting in Him alone for everything, not loving my life even to the very end.
