The Killing of Trees

October 10, 2017 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Water Can Kill but the Spirit Gives Life (II Cor. 3:6)

I am sure you know that some plants and trees need more water than others. Too much water can kill a healthy tree, especially an olive tree. Some olive trees, which were planted by the Spaniards who settled California, are still alive today. They need little water to produce fruit. This is why an olive tree is a type of anointing and has great significance in the Bible.

Olive oil was used for so many things in Jesus’s day and today we are finding out how important it is for us to use olive oil in the foods we consume in order to live a healthy life. My point is, want anointing, want God’s presence, want fruits of the Spirit manifested in your life—one ought to spend more time with the Holy Spirit and less time being watered by the gospel.

What we need is olive oil (the Spirit of Christ). We know through Scripture that the Gospel of Christ alone cannot produce olive oil. In fact, you will kill an olive tree, or if nothing else, you will stop an olive tree from producing fruit if you over water or only water. A good olive tree needs little watering but does need wind, light rainfall, lots of sunlight, and being planted on a hillside.

We think that we need to ‘pour the gospel’ into people’s lives in order to make them grow and produce fruit. When we do this, we are far from the Biblical truth and do not understand the wisdom of God. I Corinthians 3:6 states, “I (Paul) have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.” Yes, the gospel needs to be preached and at first, all of us need to be watered with the Word of God. But after the planting and initial growth, it is time to limit the watering of the word of God through preaching, but rather allow the Holy Spirit to do the His job. He, the Holy Spirit, needs to take over the growth of the word of the Gospel in our lives. We do not need more and more gospel being preached (even hammer into our lives), we need the activity of the Holy Spirit.

It is the Holy Spirit that brings the wind, rain, and sun in order to produce the oil and fruit in our lives for us to accomplish God purposes and will. I can offer you testimonies how the ‘gospel’ was only preached day in and day out, it was every Sunday’s message; the gospel was used to pressure a person into serving Christ. In some caused the tree (our lives) died slowly or at least discouraged the person (the tree) from moving ahead with Christ.

Christ had a better answer to the Gospel He preached. He backed up what He preached with miracles, signs, and healings. He preached with authority and power. He did not allow just His words/His gospel to stand-alone. Jesus knew that His disciples would need more to live a life He was calling them too. Jesus said, “Wait in Jerusalem for the Holy Spirit which My Father will send to you—the promise of the Father,” Acts of the Apostles 1: 4-5.

What Jesus was saying is that you need more than just believing in His Gospel. “You need the Holy Spirit (the oil of God) to do what I am asking you to do,” Jesus said. So let’s begin to allow the Holy Spirit to do His job. Preaching the gospel is always important and needed throughout our life as a Christian, but it is only the Holy Spirit (the 3rd person of God, 1/3 of the Trinity) that will take us across the finish line. As Paul states in Philippians 3:14-15, “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us, therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any of you be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this to you.” Perfection in Christ comes to us through the Holy Spirit only.

I preach the Gospel of Christ but I allow the Holy Spirit to water with His light and precious rain, grow the tree with wind and sunlight. I allow the Holy Spirit to stop me from overwatering the tree—all olive trees need stress and drought in order to produce fruit—the works of God. As the Holy Spirit came upon Jesus after the water baptism to be stressed and tempted—making the Gospel come alive in His life—so we must walk in His steps allowing the Holy Spirit to have His way in our lives.

It is not the time for more watering of the gospel but rather wind, pruning, light rain, abundant sunlight, being planted on your mountain—these things only the Promise of the Holy Spirit can do. It is time for the increase!

If you’re like me

October 9, 2017 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

If You’re Like Me…

If you are like me, you want to go to bed and wake up in the morning in love with Jesus. Jesus makes my day much better and without Him, well, I do not want to think about that. This is why I am a Christian, Christ loves me and I love Him back. However, I am still trying to love Him as much as He loves me…not an easy task.

Also, if you are like me you are not just waiting for the next movement of the Holy Spirit. I am not waiting for Christ to knock on the door of my life but I have the door open, and I am standing in the doorway looking for Him to come to me. When I see Him walking down my street or coming over the hill to my property, I will run out to greet Him. He is my friend so I am ready for His return and expecting the next Holy Spirit Movement in America, which He is sending.

America, you are in such great need of a Savior. You are lost, full of sin, desperate for happiness, and spend all your day worshipping idols. Let’s see, there are idols of misplaced sexual identity, idols of self-indulgence and pride, idols of hate and failures, and most of all, idols that look to government, civil institutions, or welfare programs to meet your needs and satisfy lazy desires.

Yes, America lives for idol worship and the church willingly and blindly follows the example and ‘easy access’ to the satanic lie that says, “Let me take care of you; you do not need God to be your everything.” Satan lied to Jesus during His 40 days of being in the desert, being tempted by Satan. Satan only wanted Jesus to listen and worship him.

You cannot have Jesus and Satan. Choose whom you will worship! Get rid of those idols that have placed you in bondage—“you are poor, blind and naked”—you have so many idols in your life the Holy Spirit cannot come your way. No movement, no awakening, and no revival of any sort, because you live and look to idols, not to the God who created us.

The Holy Spirit will not rest over you, upon you, or live within you as long as you keep the idols of worry, dependence on the government, lust instead of love, or hate instead of kindness. I got Jesus and He brings with Him the power of the Holy Spirit—that is why I stand in the doorway, talking with my enemies in the gate, and have the blessings of God.

Jewish Year 5778 (Oct. 2017-2018 Sept)

September 30, 2017 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

In the Jewish Year 5778—a year for all of us!

Most of this article comes for Mr. Rohrbaugh. About 2 years ago I had a group of minister prophecy the same things Mr. Rohrbaugh is stating in his article, "Three Prophetic Words to Position You in the Year 5778" over my life. God has spoken this personally to me and I am a witness that what is written below is true. Mr. Jamie Rohrbaugh is from Chattanooga, Tennessee, and I believe what he is telling the Body of Christ comes from the Spirit of Truth.

So if you celebrated Jubilee and your heart is right before the Lord, you can expect great things this next year. It is time to express what God has promised to His children and look expectedly to God fulfilling His Word in our lives. Here is what Jamie wrote:

“As you may know, the Jewish New Year began at sundown on Wednesday, September 20. The Lord gave me three prophetic words for 5778, and I believe they will encourage you! Here is what the Lord has told me about Jewish year 5778:

1. Just in Time, Holy Spirit is Sending You a Double Portion Anointing

Many of you have felt like your anointing is gone. You have been through Hell and back, and your experience has left you feeling dry and uninspired.

After praying about this, I looked out onto my back porch. I often see doves there, but usually only one dove or, at most, two at a time. However, on a recent morning, I saw not one or two, but FOUR doves on my porch. Immediately, the Lord spoke to me and told me that He is sending a double restoration of the anointing to His people. Furthermore, this double portion anointing is coming to you—NOW.

This is not one of those prophecies that you have to wait three years to see fulfilled. God has already begun pouring out the first drops of His refreshing, and you will quickly find yourself under a deluge of healing rain, as you believe Him for it.

As it says in Joel 2:23, "Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God; for He has given you the former rain faithfully, and He will cause the rain to come down for you—the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month."

"Expect God to work miracles on your behalf this year."

If you need that double anointing, the Lord told me to tell you these things:

• All the anointing and inspiration that has been stolen from you is NOW going to be restored to you double.

• You will have twice as many inspired ideas as before.

• You will hear God twice as well.

• You will be anointed to prophesy twice as much as you were before.

• You will have twice as many supernatural encounters as you EVER had before.

Beloved, you are not dead. You are not even sleeping. You have been in a time of resting and healing, and now your spirit is going to roar back to life in ways you have never seen before. Hallelujah!

If you need this double portion anointing, put a demand on God to flow through you. In situations like this, the anointing works like a pump. You have to prime a pump in order for it to produce flow. If you have lost your flow, go ahead and prime your pump. Put a demand on Holy Spirit specifically to fill you with His flow and anointing.

Examples of ways you could do this include:

• Asking Holy Spirit for a word of knowledge or prophecy that you can share to bless someone.

• Doing something creative and asking Holy Spirit to flow through you to accomplish His creative work.

• Praying in the spirit over your day, then immediately carrying out what the Lord gives you unction to do as you prayed in the spirit.

As you exercise your faith to put a demand on God, you will find Him ready, willing, and eager to answer you with that double portion anointing He has promised.

2. In 5778, Exercise Your Governmental Authority More Than You Ever Have Before

Psalm 149:6-9 says, "Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand, to execute vengeance on the nations, and punishments on the peoples; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute on them the written judgment—this honor have all His saints. Praise the Lord!"

As God’s son or daughter, you have the honor of joining with the people of God to:

• Execute vengeance upon the nations, and punishments upon the peoples.

• Bind kings with chains, and nobles with fetters of iron.

• Execute the written will of God upon all nations and peoples.

In 5778, it will become increasingly important for you to use this authority to see God’s will carried out in your sphere and around the world.

How do you exercise your authority? Two ways:

• By letting the high praise of God be in your mouth.

• By wielding the two-edged sword, which is God’s Word (confessing it verbally).

For decades, God has been renewing His people’s understanding of how important it is to confess His Word out loud. By this point, mature Believers should be well versed in the power of speaking God’s Word. In 5778, it is time to move from simple understanding to very purposeful action in this area.

All around the globe right now, situations exist which need the governmental interference of God. The situation in North Korea stands out to me as one of the most important challenges that God’s people need to address now. However, many other situations both in your house and around the world will benefit from God’s intervention as well.

For example, think of the impact God’s Word could have upon:

• Your state of mind.
• Your marriage.
• Your finances.
• The government of the country in which you reside.
• The unreached people groups who still need to hear the Gospel, and more.

If you would like to receive all that God has for you, I strongly encourage you to set aside 10-15 minutes daily to praise God and confess His Word out loud. Confess His Word over yourself and overworld situations that concern you.

"Put a demand on Holy Spirit specifically to fill you with His flow and anointing."

If you will do this, you will be exercising the governmental authority that God gave you as His child, and you will see dramatic results.

Remember that Isaiah 55:10-11 says: "For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."

3. Expect Your Intimacy with God to Produce Long-awaited and Visible Results This Year

Many of you have been sowing and sowing into the secret place of intimacy with God. You have not been doing this to get any material thing, but rather out of a true love for God. Your heart has been pure, and your hands have been clean.

Despite the fact that you have been truly seeking God for His face and not just His hand, you have not seen the results manifested in your life that you have been hoping to see. God’s Word provides many great and excellent promises about how God will bless you if you diligently seek Him, but you have not yet seen many of those promises fulfilled.

Your time of waiting has not gotten you down, but you have wondered in your spirit. Like the Psalmist and the saints in Heaven, you have cried, "How long, O Lord, faithful and true?"

Psalm 13:1-2 says, "How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? How long will my enemy be exalted over me?"

Although your faith in God has not wavered, you have wondered these same things. But the Lord told me: 5778 is the year of the ‘Joshuas’.

Psalm 12:5 says, "’For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now I will arise,’ says the Lord; ‘I will set him in the safety for which he yearns.’"

Like Joshua, you have lingered long inside the tent of God’s presence. You have not departed from His ways nor from seeking His face. His presence is your greatest love, and serving Him is your supreme pleasure.

And you are about to be elevated. You are about to see the manifestation of many promises that God has spoken to you. The things He has been whispering in your ear will soon become visible for all to see. Father God will put the fear of the Lord upon all those around you, and they will tremble at your approach.

As the Lord did in Joshua 5:1: "So it was, when all the kings of the Amorites who were on the west side of the Jordan, and all the kings of the Canaanites who were by the sea, heard that the Lord had dried up the waters of the Jordan from before the children of Israel until we had crossed over, that their heart melted; and there was no spirit in them any longer because of the children of Israel”…so He will do for you in 5778!

This is the year of Joshua. Expect God to work miracles on your behalf this year. Expect His anointing to rest upon you. Expect the Commander of the army of the Lord to appear to you in person. Expect a supernatural paving of the way in every situation you encounter.

5778 is the culmination of many long-awaited promises. It is a year that opens a new season of healing, wholeness, and freedom; a new era of taking territory for the King; and a new age of government for all of God’s people who will. Will you exercise your faith to receive, and to move forward with God?"

Worry vs. Jubilee

September 29, 2017 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Jubilee and Worshipping the Idols of Worry

This is my last article on Jubilee, and probably the most important. I stated that during the month of Jubilee God is asking us to repent, honor Him, and get rid of any idols we have been worshipping. Often today we think of “idol worship” as praying toward a statue or some earth-created creature, however that is not always the case.

I would be safe to say, that many within the Christian church worship the idols of political government, governmental assistance, or any type of dependence of human effort. There is one characteristic of “human efforts” that Jesus addressed in the Sermon on the Mount, as well as, the early Apostles in the New Testament Epistles.

“Worry” can be an idol that one worships. Worry stops any one of the Fruits of the Spirit from working and dishonors God. Worry: a state of anxiety and uncertainty over actual or potential problems. To give way to anxiety or unease; allow one’s mind to dwell on difficulty or troubles.

Synonyms are: anxiety, perturbation, distress, concern, uneasiness, unease, disquiet, fretfulness,

restlessness, nervousness, nerves, agitation, edginess, tension, stress; More fret, be concerned, be anxious, agonize, overthink, brood, panic, lose sleep, get worked up,

get stressed, get in a state, stew, torment oneself.

The King James Version of the Bible does not use the term ‘worry’ but it does use fret, ‘take no thought’, or other words expressing one’s dependence on a personal effort to complete a task or receive an outcome. You will agree with me that we indeed worry as Americans about almost everything in our daily activities.

God does not want us to worry but to “Cast all our cares on Him.” Especially during Jubilee, we are to express our confidence in God and His performance of His will in everything we confront in our daily activities.

We are to trust Him, to honor Him with all our heart, and to have faith in Him—knowing that God wants and will protect and take care of His people. When we worry God says you are “idol worshipping” and because our worry prohibits God from interacting in the lives of His people.

So make a decision, choose to, be proactive and bold to not worry but be happy in what Christ has done for us. Let’s end our time of Jubilee by committing all things to God and look to God, the author and finisher of our faith, to do what He promised to do and provide for His kids.

Do You Understand Jubilee’s Importance?

September 28, 2017 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Do You Truly Understand What is About to Take Place?

I have been writing about Jubilee. This is central to Jewish theology and all of Christianity in Christ is based on these Jewish principles. Without understanding the spiritual implications and truths symbolized within Jubilee there is no way you can walk in the will of God by faith. It is just that critical!

Here are some ministers talking about Jubilee, so understand and be blessed beyond measure.

There are some leaders in the Christian faith that are speaking about how and why this year’s Jubilee is so important. (I am referencing links or names of individuals for you to see and hear for yourself.)

Joshua Alverez, a Bible scholar and teacher, Camas Washington, www.theriverchurchnw.com. (Check out his Facebook page)

Doug Addison, a prophet and teacher, at dougaddison.com/spirit-connection-webcast/#archi.

Cal Pierce has been speaking about the coming Awakening and Outpouring of the Spirit and now it looks like it has begun. (Cal Pierce, Healing Rooms International)

Lance Wallnau, he cites the importance of the number 7 and God’s destiny and call for us all. Check out his Facebook page.

Kris Vallotton who emphasizes the significance and importance of recognizing this particular time in our America’s history.

Ministers are speaking, prophecies are being proclaimed—everything the Spirit of God is saying bears witness to God fulfilling His promises and bringing His will and government upon everything in the earth. God is on the move and we must respond.

As I wrote yesterday—we must have atonement. God’s atonement is given to us through humbleness and repentance. We must ask for forgiveness and healing for ourselves, our families, our communities, and even our nation. Jesus is indeed standing at the door and knocking. We must answer His request, open the doors, and invite Him in…now is the time.

His love for you rests in what intensity and magnitude you respond to Him—this time frame is critical—respond to Him within the last 2 days of Jubilee.

The Forgiveness of Jubilee

September 27, 2017 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Want Jubilee’s Freedom—Try Repentance!

One cannot have Jubilee unless one keeps Jubilee. God is specific about what to do when He asks His children to honor Jubilee. There are of course rituals, fests, prayers, but also repentance. During a 50-year timespan, most of us accumulate un-forgiveness, resentment, and bitterness. People, things, or circumstances have injured us, yet we chose to harbor anger, hatred, and strife. We are hurt emotionally and often spiritually. We are angry toward family, community, and even God.

Through Jesus we do not have to wait for every 50-years for the benefits of Jubilee—Christ’s resurrection made all the promises of God available to each of us every day. But as it was before Christ, it is the same after Christ’s passion. God says, “Here, here is your freedom, your salvation, your life with peace and blessings—it is found in Jubilee.”

James 1:19 states: “Beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.” And in Micah 6:8, He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? God wants us to turn from anger, un-forgiveness, and resentment.

If we are to serve Christ as a faithful servant, we must find healing and all healing is found in forgiveness. “As you forgive others, this is how God will forgive you,” Jesus’s own words in the Sermon on the Mount. We must repent, ask for forgiveness and give forgiveness. Do not think you can fulfill Jubilee other than through repentance—it cannot be done (read the all of Micah chapter 6—your efforts, God does not honor).

During the Year of Jubilee, all debt was forgiven to Jews and strangers alike. All sin was placed under the atonement, type of Christ shedding His blood for you and me. If we refuse to repent, if we refuse to offer forgiveness, if we remember wrongs then God will not forget our debt, our sin, or all our wrong behavior.

I challenge you to remember your sin and then ask for forgiveness. I challenge you to remember all the wrongs others have committed against you and offer forgiveness—yes forgive their debt to you. I challenge you to stand in the gap for others—knowing their sin, hatred, anger, and resentment either to you or to others that were close to you and ask God to forgive them (and yourself for continuing to remember their sin).

Do you want freedom? Do you want blessings? Repent for yourself, your family, your friends, your church, and your community. Spend the next 3 days in pray and brokenness before God. This is the time of the Forgiveness of Jubilee and it is found only in repentance.

Your future hangs in the balance of Jubilee!

September 26, 2017 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Your Future Hangs in the Balance of Jubilee!

“August of last year while in prayer I heard that the year of 2017 would hold unusual significance. As I contemplate what has happened there have been some unusual blessing, and also sometimes that was not so memorable,” David Hauser, Western Regional Director, International Healing Rooms.

“Then on August while praying I heard the Lord say to me the number 8. I was clueless at that time what the number meant since I am not an expert in the numbers that some theologians specialize in. I then realize that August was the 8th month and the Lord had spoken to me on the 8th day of the month.

As I checked what 8 meant in the Bible. I saw that it referred to a fresh start—a reset, which I was inclined to receive. When I posted this there were testimonies that were sent to me that were dramatic but nothing really significant for myself.

The following teaching I received while in Spokane a few days ago for IAHR convention for Healing Rooms. To be honest, this is ‘not in my wheelhouse’, but it had a ring of truth to me as it related to the Feasts that I had not followed very closely.

August 21, 2017, a Complete Solar Eclipse cuts across the U.S.A. Goes through 7 cities named Salem, is followed by the next total eclipse in 7 years, occurs on Rosh Hashanah 2024, and crosses the path of the 2017 eclipse and makes across through the U.S. The August 21st eclipse also occurred, on the same Day and hour as the month of Elul, in Israel.

Elul-The month that begins the 40 days of deep prayer and fasting; a time of soul searching and repentance before the Lord, and culminates on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. The Day of Atonement is also the day that a Jubilee year ends…so this year, the 70th Jubilee will end at sundown on September 29.

In the Hebraic calendar this year will mark the end of the year 5777, Grace finished, finished, finished and the beginning of 5778. Grace finished, finished, New Beginnings. This is what all these numbers mean.

There is much more to be said about the Feast of Trumpets, Rosh Hashanah, Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur, Feast of Tabernacles, and Sukkot.

Again let me state, the teaching of these Jewish holidays is above my pay grade, but I heard something that struck my spirit.

Please listen carefully to this. We have 4 days left before Jubilee ends. Take the next 4 days and ask God for a spirit of repentance. You ask for what? What about for fear, anxiety, unbelief, anger, strive for reconciliation. Ask God in these next few days for healing in your emotions towards your family, the body of Christ, for your political anger, your family anger, for anger towards the Body of Christ, for all leaders. Ask God to get at the root of your disappointment with people and with God. Ask God to get at the root.

Do this before the end of Jubilee and I believe God will take you to a different and higher place in 2018. You will experience more victory, promotion, and glory. In Christ name, I pray!

Dave and I will be sending three more articles over the next three days about Jubilee and your future. This is the most significant series of articles I have ever written. Please consider them prayerfully and with a contrite spirit. Please send them along to friends, family and church leaders. Your future in Christ will depend on what you do with “what the Spirit is saying to the Church.”

Being happy to the end!

September 24, 2017 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

All of Life is Vanity

Have you read Ecclesiastes lately? Probably not; it’s a depressive book to read. Solomon writes about wisdom but in comparison to life in general. In the end, he states, “that life can be not worth living.” Not a book for the young in heart and spirit or young in age.

You need to read the last chapter of Ecclesiastes, chapter 12.Well, here it is—read it!

1 Remember also thy Creator in the days of thy youth, before the evil days come, and the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; 2 before the sun, and the light, and the moon, and the stars, are darkened, and the clouds return after the rain; 3 in the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows shall be darkened, 4 and the doors shall be shut in the street; when the sound of the grinding is low, and one shall rise up at the voice of a bird, and all the daughters of music shall be brought low; 5 yea, they shall be afraid of that which is high, and terrors shall be in the way; and the almond-tree shall blossom, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail; because man goeth to his everlasting home, and the mourners go about the streets: 6 before the silver cord is loosed, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher is broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern, 7 and the dust returneth to the earth as it was, and the spirit returneth unto God who gave it.
8 Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher; all is vanity. 9 And further, because the Preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he pondered, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs. 10 The Preacher sought to find out acceptable words, and that which was written uprightly, even words of truth. 11 The words of the wise are as goads; and as nails well fastened are the words of the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd. 12 And furthermore, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
13 This is the end of the matter; all hath been heard: fear God, and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God will bring every work into judgment, with every hidden thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

The last two verses always get me—it is easy to be convicted by God’s Word. Let’s recap what wisdom says: one, you will get old and become bitter; two, there is an end to all things and it is very dark and without hope; three, there are words of wisdom and knowledge that are ‘words of truth’ but a lot of studying will get you nowhere; and four, God will have the final say to all things you do—nothing will be hid, so what God says you ought to do, do!

I am now part of the generation that knows and sees the end of things coming upon the earth. Not only will my life end, but mankind is on a collision course with the judgment of God. It is inescapable and was determined before the earth was created. It seems we all know this fact, but we live as if it will not come to pass.

Let me offer this hope, “It does not have to be like this!” How do I escape becoming bitter, seeing only darkness everywhere, always learning but without knowledge, and standing before God without redemption? The answer, Jesus Christ—the hope of the world. It is only “in Him”—literally that I avoid the vanity of life. Wisdom says, want life—you must want Christ. It is just that simple…what would Jesus have me to do?

The Little Guy

An Injured Toe

Have you ever injured your little toe? A good friend of mine did this last week. He hit his little toe against a door while walking through his home’s hallway during the night. He told me it hurt so bad he could not walk on that foot for a while—he thought his toe might be broken.

This is not new news or any news at all except for the fact the Lord spoke to him after the ‘toe-crunching’ event, saying, “Even the least of these—the smallest body part has as much importance, often more than any other part of the body.”

The Lord taught my friend the need for the whole body in taking care of all parts of the body no matter their importance, size, or beauty. My friend, Dave, began realizing the significance of “body”—his injured toe meant he could not walk without a limp. His whole body was being directed by his little toe.

It is worthy to note that Dave began to walk without a limp, without favoring his other foot, only after 3 days. His body was directed to protect and heal the one injured part—his small toe. As the Scripture states in I Corinthians chapter 12, particularly verses 14 -26, “ as one member of the Body suffers, all the members suffer with it.”

Dave’s bodily functions were directed to take care of that little toe—more blood was sent to heal the injured members; all other members were directed by the nerves to change how to move and how to protect the toe. His body had one purpose—“take care of the little guy!”

If only we would take notice of the natural things in this life so we can be spiritual and do the will of God. As Jesus said, “Even as you did kindness and helpfulness to the least of these, you did this unto me” Matthew 25: 45.

Let’s not allow pride or self-induced thinking to control what we do by overriding Scripture—the very words of Christ. We are to give honor to the weaker members of the Body of Christ. We are to take care of those who cannot take care of themselves. We are to do what is right, Christ being our example.

I am reminded of an experience in God I had years ago when God spoke to me to take care of countless people He had or was going to bring into my life. I asked God, “But God, who is going to take care of me?” God immediately replied back to me, “I will.”

If we do not love even the least members in the Body of Christ, we cannot say we love God. Without love, God says, “I never knew you!”

Cries for help

Cries for Help

God is listening, prayer works, and God answers cries for help. We have had two hurricanes recently. Irma was to have done damage beyond repairable and Harvey was immensely destructible. Now after the fact we have seen not only the good people coming to the rescue, but we realize that God heard our prayers of need and answered them speedily.

I wonder what we could have done if we firmly believed that God is God over all His creation that He can calm any storm. Jesus did not worry about anything Mother Nature could stir up. He calmed the storm after His disciples woke Him, fearing they would die. And, then you have Him walking on the waves of the storm unafraid of the fury and strength of the storm.

We often trivialize coming tragedies or place too many Scriptures as metaphors, thereby limiting inherent spiritual truths and the nature of God. Oh, that we would believe as a little child. It was obvious that God was answering prayers of His people before, during and after Irma traveled over Florida. I hope we are thankful to Him who does all things well.

Life is not without the unexpected or without devastation. I do not understand how people cannot be a believing Christian. There is way too much heartache in this life to go it alone and not having the Holy Spirit, as our Comforter would be unbearable.

I would like things easier like I said yesterday. I know God is watching out for me, and I am to watch out for others. That is how love works—He loves me and I am to love others. I think this is a fair bargain if there were such bargains with God.

But next time God, I will be praying that You calm the storms before they hit landfall. Why, well I know you can do all things and it is my faith in you that you love to see me operating in. Your faith residing in me—it can move the mountain and calm the raging sea.
