It’s With Joy That You Take Your Mountain

All Roads Lead through Jericho Series

To fulfill one’s purpose in life is what we all hope for—it is what gives us meaning and direction. God, why did you create me? Why do I exist? What is my calling and purpose in Christ? You will never complete your calling or discover life’s purpose without going through Jericho.

Most of us do not realize, that in order to fulfill God’s calling on our lives, we must learn to fight. Just as Jesus taught His disciple through example and we learn by reading the Epistles, we are command us to ‘put on the whole armor of God’. We must be willing to ‘fight the good fight of faith’ and ‘destroy the works of the devil’.

Jesus commanded us to ‘bring every thought in subjection to the Spirit of Christ’ and to ‘heal those who are sick, raise the dead, and preach the gospel to the poor’. This is not easy to do but to have the Kingdom of God on earth, this is exactly what we must do.

Now what does Jericho have to do with fighting against Satan and finding purpose in life? Well it is quite simple, praise is wrapped up in all we do to overcome the evil one and find hope to do God’s will today and for tomorrow.

Let me give you some examples. King David was a warrior and fought to build the Kingdom of Israel—his central ingredient in his walk with the Lord was praise—he wrote The Psalms. Revelations talks about ‘Praise’ always being in front of the Throne of God and praise that never ends in heaven. For the walls of Jericho to fall down the children of Israel had to circle the city and shout with praise.

Did you know that each revival has a song that was central to the moving of the Spirit of God during each revival? Also, you probably know the song, “Shout to the Lord” from Hillsong that changed a nation and impacted the whole world for Christ.

Yes, it is praise—singing to the Lord with great joy and with a passion of shouting to the Lord that overcomes the evil one and allows each of us to find and fulfill our calling in Christ. If you want your mountain (your purpose and calling in Christ), you must ‘shout to the Lord’ praises, songs, and music—we must give glory to the Name of the Lord.

It is in your praise to God that you’ll find purpose, calling and strength to destroy the works of the devil and take your mountain—the promise God made to you before the foundations of the world—your fulfillment in Him.

“Your Healing Is Upon You” by Lana Vawser

I believe it is our fear that stops us from moving ahead in God. We fear so many things and God is trying to heal us from all our hurt and disappointment. This article was sent to me from a friend in Oklahoma. Read it, study it, and accept what it is saying to us all. For “Your Healing Is Upon You” and God wants better things for us. This morning I heard the Lord say, "A new breed of warriors are arising". When I asked the Lord about these warriors, I saw they were "secret place" warriors. They were ones who have heard the invitation of the Lord to step "deeper into" the secret place, and are waging war FROM the secret place.

I had a vision where I saw in the past some warriors have run into battle, and have run in to ‘take out the enemy’ and to ‘take back ground’ from the enemy, but they run into battle wielding their swords to take down the enemy, but have ended up being wounded, assaulted, traumatized and in some cases ‘taken out’.

When I asked the Lord about this, I noticed part of their hearts ‘were exposed’. Part of their hearts ‘were uncovered’, it wasn’t covered with truth. I began to realize that these were areas of their hearts where the revelation of God’s love and nature hadn’t taken root as deeply as it should.

These warriors were running out into battle to ‘face fears’, and ‘overcome’ and ‘slay the giants’ before them, but because of these ‘uncovered openings’ in their hearts where there were wrong views/concepts of God, lies about His goodness and love, and areas of fear that were hindering them from approaching Him with confidence, because of past experiences, hurts and disappointments, when they went into battle, the enemy was landing upon those places and terrorizing and assaulting these warriors.

The Lord reminded me again that the revelation of His goodness and His love affects EVERYTHING. The Lord began showing me right now many warriors are going through the fire, they are wrestling with giants, they are wrestling with fears and how they have run into battle in the past to try and overcome seems to be the ‘logical way’ to ‘overcome’. Yet, there is fear in stepping out again because of the trauma they experienced in the past. Many are wrestling with ‘the only way I am going to get free is to step out again’.

I felt the Lord say "The freedom is found in STEPPING IN!!!"

Instantly I remember the quote by Graham Cooke "Your intimacy with Jesus is your greatest weapon."

The Lord is always calling us to live outside our comfort zones, to live in a place of total dependence upon Him. Right now, many warriors are wrestling with "how do I take steps out in the natural to get free and get breakthrough?" but I feel the Lord saying, "the stepping out in the natural isn’t going to deal with the root. It is in facing the fear, the wrong beliefs, the hurt, pain, trauma and fear IN THE SECRET PLACE WITH ME THAT IS GOING TO SET YOU FREE!"

The enemy wants many warriors to step back onto the battlefield through some ways these ‘battles have been fought in the past to get free and overcome’ (but the past stepping out hasn’t brought freedom but pain, trauma and wounding because of the uncovering of the heart) but there is a NEW STRATEGY upon the warriors.

The Lord is calling the warriors walking through this season to FOCUS ON STEPPING IN!!!!! Focus on stepping into the SECRET PLACE more than ever before. Position yourself before Jesus and He is going to meet you and overwhelm you with His love. Many warriors are being called to REST, and move into a hidden place before the Lord, so He can heal their hearts and souls.

Rest is THE KEY for you right now!

The reason the Lord is focusing upon the ‘stepping in’ rather than ‘stepping out’ right now, is because there are ‘cracks in foundations’ that He sees. These ‘cracks’ in foundations need to be healed by the revelation of His love and kindness so you can be strengthened, healed, filled again and then sent out again.

Don’t allow the enemy to tell you by focusing on the ‘stepping in’ that you are losing ground. The OPPOSITE is true. You are GAINING GROUND by stepping in. Don’t let the enemy tell you that you won’t get your breakthrough by ‘stepping in’; you will only get it, if you ‘step out’. Right now, for many of you, your breakthrough will come in DOUBLE PORTIONS IN THE SECRET PLACE.

I feel the Lord wants to soothe, comfort, and breathe upon many wounded, weary warriors right now. The Lord has seen your faithfulness. The Lord has seen how you have run into battle, faced fears, and continually positioned yourself to obey Him, to pour out and fight for others. He SEES your faithfulness. He SEES your heart! He SEES that you want to please Him and do all that He wants you to do. Condemnation and fear of ‘disobedience’ and ‘missing it’ is chaining MANY warriors right now. I want to break that off you in Jesus name and declare over you that as you PRIORITISE the SECRET PLACE, as you FOCUS upon spending time with Him more than ever, letting Him love you, letting Him love you through the walls you have put up between you and Him because of disappointment, fear, trauma and wrong views of Him because of past experience, He WILL set you free. He WILL bring breakthrough. He WILL bring peace. He WILL bring joy. It’s just coming in a NEW WAY!

Where you have always pushed through and kept going, running head on at the giants and the battle and getting wounded, but still going, God is bringing you to the quiet ‘come away places’. The place ‘by the still waters’ where He will restore your heart and soul, He wants to POUR INTO YOU!

A lot of fear and issues that many of you are facing right now, much of the torment of the enemy has found its ground in foundational cracks. In the secret place, God is uprooting, cementing truth and rebuilding again.

You stepping "IN" to the secret place, you taking more time to REST and allow the Lord to bring rejuvenation to you, is not a step back, it’s a position of being catapulted further forward than you ever have been. In and through the secret place, you will go further than you have ever been.

Wounded, weary warriors, He wants to heal you! Your healing season is upon you! Your freedom season is upon you! It’s not about running out and slaying the giants on the battlefield in the ‘stepping out’, right now, it’s the ‘stepping IN’ place that is your place of VICTORY and FREEDOM.

He’s going to show up in the secret place, in the garden of intimacy. It might be scary to be real and vulnerable with Him. For some of you to open up your hearts to Him again, but He will tenderly love you through it, He will whisper His Words of truth, life and love to you, and the weariness and wounds will melt away by His love. You will know fear NO MORE because you will SEE HIM like you have never seen Him before. He will show you how He is breathing UPON your dreams, not attempting to take them away. He will SHOW YOU His pleasure for you, rather than you being plagued with fears that if you open up and invite Him into the deep wounded, hurting parts of your heart and soul, that He may say, He isn’t pleased or delighted. That you are disobeying or missing it.

For many of you, the scariest place right now is allowing Him into those wounded, fear-filled, hurting places of your heart, the real broken places. In some ways, it would be easier to ‘do what you have done in the past to overcome’, but there’s a new strategy upon you. It’s to open up those parts of your heart to Him and let Him in and watch and see the resurrection life that will burst forth, and the healing that will come.

Many of you have ‘held it together’ for so long, ‘fighting the good fight’ when your hearts have been breaking inside and you have been so wounded. Let Him come, soothe your hurting heart and soul and make you whole. His plans for you are GOOD and to PROSPER YOU and NOT TO HARM YOU! (Jeremiah 29:11)

The revelation of His goodness and kindness will change everything! Wounded, weary warriors, it’s your time to COME ALIVE in His presence.

Signs of the Times (Matthew 16:3)

Matthew 16 1-4: When the Pharisees and Sadducees arrived, as a test they asked Jesus to show them a sign from heaven.

2 He replied to them, “You say, ‘Red sky at night, what a delight!

3 Red sky in the morning, cloudy and storming. ’You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, yet you can’t interpret the signs of the times?

4 An evil and adulterous generation craves a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” Then he left them and went away.

This scriptural truth is still relevant today. Jesus is not old fashion nor is His words uncommon for today—we rarely consider “the signs of the times” in our generation.

Isaiah 42:1-4: 1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; my elect, in whom my soul delights; I have put my spirit on him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. 2 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. 3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment to truth. 4 He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.

Christ is not ashamed nor is He confused. He knows what is about to take place but we do not consider nor do we understand what He is about to bring to pass.

Isaiah 11:1-4: 1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest on him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; 3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: 4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

I see the will of God and what is about to take place on the earth. I do not try to understand with all the education I have received, nor do I struggle to find reasons why, regarding God’s actions in the earth. I accept His ways, His judgment, and His timing.

I fear the Lord and it is in the fear of the Lord that I find wisdom. If I do not pray; if I do not look for His presence in all I do; if I do not desire His will on my enemies, I will fail to discern the “signs of the times.”

I pray for revival in America with signs, healings and wonders. I pray for a revival among the gay movement and God’s judgment to follow for I know that not all in the gay movement will come to Christ. I pray for the construction of the Temple in Jerusalem. I pray for Christ’s Return—indeed, “Come Lord Jesus, come!”

I abide in the ‘signs of the times’…I pray without ceasing…I exercise wisdom and hold onto the Fear of the Lord.

David Hauser’s Testimony

At the end of 2016, I felt God say that in the following year there would be a monumental move of God. Do I dare say ‘A Year of Jubilee’, an entering into God’s promises? Sometimes we wonder if we are hearing God speak, or is it a form of indigestion.

Does the Lord tarry when we feel He is giving us a distinctive word through the Holy Spirit? I found, as I read recent articles from many important men and woman of God, that God was going to do something unique in the Body of Christ. So I felt I was not alone in my desire to hear what God was saying in the coming year, 2017.

This wasn’t about politics or about what I was seeing in the Church, but it was a heartfelt belief that God was going to move in a dynamic way to fulfill His word to believers and to Churches who in some cases felt that that they were barely hanging on.

I have been waiting a week trying to decide whether to send this writing to my friends in the ministry. Tonight I saw this Scripture found in Amos 4:13 NIV" …that God makes His thoughts known to mankind."

In the last few days God quickened to me a word that I had heard through my friend Steven Wentland, "that all roads that lead to our promise land, must go through Jericho.” The Jericho of the Bible is an amazing history.

The walls of Jericho were so formidable that houses were built upon them. It was the strongest fortress in all of the land of Canaan. It was the one-major stronghold of the enemies of Israel that stood to prevent the fulfillment of what God had promised. (Of course, there were other places that had to be taken also by Israel.)

The city was close traditionally to the scene of Christ temptation. It was also in the ‘lot’ given to the tribe of Benjamin, which means "son of my right hand," which symbolizes strength through the Holy Spirit. It takes the ‘living power’ of the Holy Spirit, with our spirit responding to Him, for victory to be realized. (There is much more to be said and to be learned, and you can explore this later in your personal Bible study time.)

The point I am making and what I will call a ‘prophetic promise’ is that God wishes to do something for you, for your ministry, for your family, and for your church.

Fulfillment of God’s promises cannot bypass ‘Jericho’. What is our Jericho? For me it is something very distinctive that He said to me. For you it could be something else, on your road to the fulfillment of God’s promises in our ministry, our life, or our family.

We cannot bypass what God is speaking to us, ignoring what God has said, if there is going to be a fulfillment of God’s best in our lives or the ministry He has given us.

When God speaks it is often in two stages. First He is looking to our willingness to obey and then when we do; then He will speak a second time to bring us into a place of fulfillment. For the Israelites they had to hear first the protocol of what to do. Then they had to by faith move in unity, moving responsively, and learning to keep guard over their mouth until they shouted and blew the trumpet. Then God in response to their faithfulness brought the wall down.

2017 holds the promise of fulfillment, if we will not bypass Jericho!

Only Love Today by Rachel Macy Stafford

Being softer you can hear more, learn more, feel more love more.

I’ve had enough of my hard edges.
I’m tired of straining my voice.
I’d like to loosen up and laugh a little more,
be positive rather than negative.

I’d like to feel the upward curve of my lips.
I’d like to surrender control of things over which I have no control.
I’d like to let things unfold in their own time, in their own way.
I’d like to participate joyfully in this fleeting life.

I’d like to be softer
toward him,
toward her,
toward myself.

Thus, this will be the year of my softening.
And this is my vow:

I vow to listen to opinions. I don’t always have to be right.
I don’t always have to agree or have the last word.

I vow to hand over the hairbrush, the pile of laundry, the school project, and the task before me. “How would you do it?” I will ask.

I vow to step aside and respect a new approach.
Success might be difficult to see at first; I vow to keep looking.

I vow to be more accepting of quirks and mannerisms.
I vow to be more accepting of tastes and styles unlike my own.

I vow to remember he is in the process of becoming; she is in the process of finding her way. And they are more apt to do it if I stop telling them how.

I vow to regard “weaknesses” as hidden strengths.
Inner gifts can be nurtured when I stop plotting ways to alter, change, and “improve.”

I vow to greet my family — and myself — with a loving smile, no matter what happened yesterday. Grudge holding only hurts us all.

I vow to pause before correcting.
I will take a moment to consider if the mistake even needs to be mentioned at all.

I vow to stop nitpicking until it bleeds.
I vow to demand less and inquire more.
I vow to listen, consider, and expand my thinking.

I vow to be a voice of encouragement in a demeaning world.
I vow to be a silver lining spotter in my family’s little world.
I vow to be softer today than I was yesterday — a softer voice, a softer posture, a softer touch, a softer thought, a softer timetable.
I vow to be softer toward the imperfect human being inside me and the one beside me.

By being softer I can hear more, learn more, feel more, and love more.

At last I will fully see I will see his colors.
I will see her colors.
I will see my colors.
Perhaps for the very first time.
The colors might take my breath away,
bring me to tears,
or offer long-awaited peace.
I will soften in order to illuminate the colors of the soul
I will soften so the human being within me and beside me
can shine.

Today’s Reminder

It is not always possible for me to choose love in the midst of challenging situations, but I can definitely try to soften — soften my voice, my touch, my opinion, and my timetable. Even a little softening goes a long way to bring peace to the situation. Today I will celebrate each time I soften when my first instinct is to harden.

If we don’t decide, if we don’t determine, if we don’t vow to soften, we will harden. Hardness creeps upon us without us even being aware, doesn’t it? In Psalm 51:17 King David says, “My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart You, God, will not despise.” May we pray the same today: Jesus, we offer You our hearts in confession that they tend to stray from Christlikeness. Help us to be soft like You, and broken with love for You and for those around us.

I’m Not Lost, I’ve Got 2

It’s not hard to get lost. Trying to find your way to a destination is often not as easy as it seems. Google has helped with offering satellite directions, and there are a few apps that offer precise directions to wherever. However, there is no ‘simple app’ in finding ‘which way to go’ in your spiritual walk with God—no yellow brick road—no ‘natural means’ for a spiritual journey.

God is not found outside of Jesus Christ. Often we wonder where He is when we need Him. We often get lost. Is the god we worship on some journey or taking a nap—this is what the prophet Elijah spoke about the god, Baal, to the false prophets of Jezebel (I Kings chapter 18).

God does have a method, a means, ‘to find your way’. God chose the ‘number 2’. Yes, 2! Just like the computer system that operates with the binary system of 2, so does God. God understands the power of “2”, and has made “2 witnesses” to be the groundwork of how He guides His will on the earth.

God says, “The Spirit and the Word agree as one.” This is the best way to know what God wants from you or to find your way with God—depend on the Bible (God’s Word) and the Holy Spirit to direct you. Nevertheless, there are other means to ‘staying found’—being un-lost.

God confirms what He is telling us through witnesses. I always look for confirmation to what God wants me to do—I look, no I expect, a second word or example from the Lord, i.e. I look for the number “2”. There has to be an agreement; a witness to what I initially am giving from the Lord. (The Bible has so many examples of this.)

If I have a dream from the Lord, I look for a confirmation from another source, often a call or letter from a friend telling me something that confirms the dream. If I receive a spoken word from a minister/friend, I look for a confirmation from ‘an outside source’ that will agree to what was said to me. I just look for 2 sources to agree. This way I know for sure what God is asking of me or telling me to do.

Satan gets advantage over us, as he did over Eve and so many others in the Bible, when we listen to just ‘one source’ for guidance. We need to be careful. This is why the Bible talks about ‘checks and balances’ when it comes to the operation of the Gifts of the Spirit and why God sends His ministers into the world by “2’s”.

God promises to “confirm His Word with signs and wonders” (the number 2 in operation) so we might know it is Him who is being manifested to us. Do not get lost. Be prepared for God to confirm everything He is telling you through whatever means or from whoever. God never wants us confused or lost. He knows the way because He is the way.

The Principle of Sharpening

We are engaged in a great war with the Philistines of evil. Every weapon within our reach must be used. Preaching, teaching, praying, giving, all must be brought into action, and talents which not thought to serve as weapons, must now be employed. Plow points, hoes, axes, and sickles, may all be useful in slaying Philistines; rough tools may deal hard blows, and killing need not be elegantly done, so long as it is done effectually.

Each moment of time, in season or out of season; each fragment of ability, educated or untutored; each opportunity, favorable or unfavorable, must be used, for our foes are many and our force is small in size. Most of our tools want sharpening; we need quickness of perception, tact, energy, promptness, in a word, complete adaptation for the Lord’s work. Practical common sense is a very scarce thing among the conductors of Christian enterprises. We might learn from our enemies if we would, and so make the Philistines sharpen our weapons.

This morning let us determine to sharpen our zeal during this day by the aid of the Holy Spirit. See the energy of our enemies, how they travel the sea and land to promote their evil. Are they alone to exhibit patience and self-sacrifice? Observe the prince of darkness, how persevering in his endeavors, how unabashed in his attempts, how daring in his plans, how thoughtful in his plots, how energetic in all! The devils are united as one man in their infamous rebellion, while we believers in Jesus are divided in our service of God, and scarcely ever work together. “All things work together for good, for those who love God and are called according to his purpose.” John 8.28 Even our enemies do us good, because often we do not do until we are adequately motivated, energized which sometimes only our enemies provide. We prepare, plan, train, develop strategy and tactics, sharpen our weapons, oil our shields, work to strengthen ourselves—Most importantly draw close to the Lord, learn of him, know him, ask him —we can do nothing without him, but with him all things are possible. He can use anything and anybody; even the jawbone of an ass or the talking ass.

By being connected to the true vine; abiding in him we are in the life flow producing healthy ripe fruit in season. We engage our god given “Sound Mind” 2 Timothy 1.7 in searching, seeking, thinking, asking, and finding creative solutions for meeting the challenges and opportunities ahead. Coming In —-Abiding in Peace, rest, Joy, re-charging, and then wanting to go out. Going out to engage, to fight the Battle with others being united thru Christ and living the Word of God. We are satisfied when things change, then new issues arise, dynamic comes, but we are able to continue to overcome evil with good with Holy Spirit by the Word and the authority of Christ.

Christ’s authority –We enter on this through yielding to the authority of Christ. The essence of the eternal life is not endless existence. That might be a curse rather than a blessing. This is eternal life — to enter into the light and freedom and blessedness of a true knowledge of God as He is revealed in Christ. It is the life of the spirit which can never taste of death.

God has given His Son authority to win us by love, not to sway us by force. "Knock and it shall be opened unto you." Matt 7:7; Luke 11:9. There is the knocker. Now, when we go to God and plead the name of Christ, its means that we plead the authority of Christ, that we ask of God as though we were in Christ’s stead, and expect Him to give it to us as if He were giving it to Jesus and like Jesus such requests must be in accordance with the Father as in John 5:19 “So Jesus answered them, “I tell you the truth; the Son can do nothing on his own; he does only what he sees his Father doing.”

Oh California!

All Roads Lead to Jericho Series

Some articles are hard to write; this is one of those articles. It is not hard to make the case that California is leading the nation in sin. We major in what displeases God. Not only do we continue to create more ‘unspeakable sins’ but we ‘market our sin’ throughout the world.

Often my heart feels broken for the sin round about me. When I travel in the state I sense how sin has grown in particular areas—it is oppressive at times. There are counties that were once conservative and strong in Christ, but now Satan is ‘working undercover’ in the lives of Christian people.

It is evident that areas that once served Christ are busy doing other things and/or concerned about trivial things rather than the purposes and action plans of God. We have become ‘people of little faith’ without direction and without power in the Gospel of Christ.

I am not angry nor am I defeated, but I am like John the Baptist, “A voice crying in the wilderness—clean up your ways and repent—God’s judgment is not far away.”

I cannot avoid what is about to take place. The Holy Spirit reminds me constantly, almost daily, about the tragedies that are about to overtake and destroy where we live in California. Some say the ‘big-one’ is coming. That is true. An earthquake so powerful that much of our coastline will be effective.

However, it will not stop with just one gigantic quake. There will be many frightening earthquakes in the ‘sun-shine state’. Quakes will not stop once they begin! The devastation will be ongoing and California will never recover. It will be like the city of Jericho—we will be unable to rebuild the state, as Joshua stated over Jericho. California will never see it past glory revived nor will people want to live here.

The writings of Jeremiah and Ezekiel are about to overtake our state. The call to all Californians is, ‘the Lord has considered our sin’. We must have a national revival! Not just for our nation but for Californians. God is not and will not refrain His Hand from judgment, but people can find hope and ability to avoid the direct consequences of God’s judgment on their live.

Repentance and works of righteousness are the only hope for each individual. You can mark my words—“God is going to uncover your shame, expose your sin, and send forth His judgment.” No person in California will be exempt from the Hand of God.

Oh, California—you have been warned! May we find mercy before judgment!

A Helpful Reminder: Do Not Forget!

It’s a busy week for us all

#1: On March 16th, please mail Donald Trump a postcard that publicly expresses your SUPPORT for him. In HUGE numbers, we will overwhelm the man with our support. We will show the media and the politicians that standing against him and the American citizens will not stop him or us. And most importantly, we will encourage the White House with our support as U.S. citizens for Donald Trump.

If each of us writes a single postcard and puts them all in the mail on the same day, March 16th, we will be able to make a significant statement for President Trump and his work to Make America Great Again.

So sharpen your wit, unsheathe your writing implements, and see if your sincerest “well wishes” can pierce the media’s thin skin.

Prepare for March 16th, 2017, a day hereafter to be known as The Call of Patriots.
