When sin goes unchecked

California’s Judgment

A prophetic message

I am sure you know about the recent fires in California. We have always had fires but now the fires are getting closer to major metropolitan areas. They are tragic and have become predictable.

California’s political climate has indeed caused the fuel for fires to become more easily ignited in our state. We do little in managing our forests, not like it was 40 years ago. Environmentalists have created the conditions that inhibit our ability to fight fires easily.

But this is not the whole story. God’s hand is against my home state. California celebrates sin. It is not embarrassed in the least for the destruction and consequences of its sin. It promotes its sin throughout the nation and takes pride in what it does. In fact, laws are passed in order for sin to be normalized and accepted. God is not mocked nor will He allow this to continue.

As I have stated before, California is moving from drought to fires and soon there will begin a season & time of earthquakes. Eventually, our sunny state will become a state of darkness and eventually uninhabitable. The San Joaquin Valley will die off becoming unable to produce food. Presently, our valley produces almost 40% of all the food consumed in America. When it dies, 1/3 of the food supply in America will be done away with.

Just last week, God spoke to me and said, “Before I come back, California will be invaded militarily by another county.” I was surprised; I never thought this could ever happen.

When sin goes unchecked and we refuse to allow God’s intervention into our culture then judgment is God’s only option. Oh, how California that was once a warm and beautiful state where revivals and the moving of God’s Spirit once worked in the lives of its citizens will indeed become “a desolation”. The consequences of sin must be met with either repentance or judgment. The time of judgment is upon us. God says, “You have been warned.”

A new series, “What is happening Steve?”

November 11, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

What Are You Asking From God?

1st Article in the series, “What is happening Steve?”

I have noticed that most Christians only react to what is happening or only response to past events. We must change our position in Christ. God does not want us to just react to what is taking place but to create the future—future events and decisions.

After the last election on Tuesday that Wednesday morning, very early around 3 am, God woke me up and told me to pray for the political races that were undecided. I had not turned on the TV either during the day on Tuesday nor yet on Wednesday when God spoke to me. I did not know what had taken place nor heard of any of the results.

I began to pray, asking God to continue to move His hand over our nation’s capitals but more specific individual elections that were undecided or ‘hanging in the balance’. After getting up I watched the news and listened to the election results. I was not bothered or dismayed. I felt no urgency or disappointment. I believed the House of Representatives, on being in control of the Democrats, was God’s will and a result of so many House Republicans not supporting God’s plan and what President Trump was doing.

I am at peace but have been praying what the Holy Spirit spoke to me to pray about—the undecided elections. Whenever God is moving and performing His will on earth, Satan is working over-time to cause unbelief, destruction, and confusion at every turn and in every circumstance. If we would only be faithful and trusting God to do what He promised He said He would do, Christ would be glorified in our lives and circumstances.

So I pray and will continue to pray. I pray for God’s hand over the undecided elections, for God’s angels to become involved and active at the finalization of all election results, and for God to manifest His will of all to see.

Much is happening and I will be sharing what God is doing and talking to me about in the new series, “What is happening Steve?” Please share with a friend this new series. I will also be completing the previous series of articles at the same time. Be prepared for multiple articles—God is speaking!

Unity & Rain

November 5, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Giving God the Opportunity

#3 Preparing for Rain through Unity

How do we find unity in a culture with so many denominations and beliefs systems? In most churches there is unity but only among their own members. Often it is thought that anyone who is not part of his or her denomination or church is lost. Oh, how we ignore the examples within the Book of Acts.

Jesus asked His disciples to wait in Jerusalem for the Holy Spirit (the Comforter) to come. At first, there were around 500 disciples waiting but after awhile many got tired of waiting and only 120 were in the upper room when the Holy Spirit fell upon the remaining disciples. Let’s see, that is about 25%. That is the number used in the Bible over and over again and by Jesus, Himself when instructing His disciples about people with ‘good ground’ that bring forth fruit in their lives and the remaining 75% were those who fail to produce fruit.

Why does God send out His disciples in ‘twos’? Why is Scripture always talking about ‘multiplying’? Why were there 12 disciples? Why did God make a helpmate for Adam? Why does the Christian religion have the concept of Trinity? It’s all about unity and relationships. All of creation works together in nature to form a unity that supports and is dependent on each other. It is only man who struggles with unity, dependency, relationships, and wholeness.

God does not give ‘rain’ without unity. We must be one and strive for a unity of the Spirit. Jesus spoke of unity and the Gospels are full of the admonition to be ‘one in Christ’. We must become one. No more ‘big I and little you’. God gives honor, the Bible says, to the weaker or less needed members in His Body. God creates unity and creates a balance for all members of the Body of Christ to be dependent on each other and willing to give equal honor to each individual member.

On the day of Pentecost, Scripture says in the Acts of the Apostles 2:1b, “they were all with one accord in one place.” Timing, location, and unity are critical to any movement of the Holy Spirit. God’s will requires that we come together as one person, though being many different people, with a common goal and purpose.

The best example I can give this generation is Reverend Billy Graham. His ministry was very specialized and narrowly focused. Billy only preached the Gospel of repentance with forgiveness and the acceptance of Jesus Christ as one’s Savior. He was criticized for not doing more, for not preaching a full and totally gospel, yet he never moved from the calling and direction God gave him as a young man—his message was simple.

Billy also accepted support and sought unity from all types of Christians and theological persuasions. Evangelicals criticized him for his acceptance of Charismatics. When ‘Traditional Bible Church’ leaders challenged Billy, he simply said, “That Charismatics are my strongest supporters.” It is time for unity. Not unity that the world gives or defines, but unity that comes from the Spirit. True unity—unity that brings the Kingdom of Heaven to earth. This is the unity that will bring rain from heaven.

From Forgiveness to Rain

November 4, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Giving God the Opportunity

#2 Preparing for Rain through the Holy Spirit

We often think that forgiveness is automatic. Just ask for forgiveness and God will send it your way. However, nothing is farther from the truth. The Bible gives lots of restrictions in finding forgiveness, as well as, examples of those who did not find forgiveness though they “sought forgiveness carefully (according to biblical traditions) and with many tears”. The reason for this is simply stated in the concept, “Sin is complicated and complex.”

God does want you to ask for forgiveness, but He is also looking at your motives and reasons for asking for forgiveness from Him. That is why we have many verses in the Bible stating the dos and don’ts when it comes to repentance. Sin is complicated and repentance is therefore multi-faceted. Repentance is a heart, soul, heart, spirit, and action type experience. When you repent you can either feel clean and changed or you do not feel any different. If nothing is changed in you, you are still living in your sin.

So do not be fooled! Just saying the right words, yet not believing in the experience of God washing your sins away, will not get you anywhere closer to God or finding forgiveness that only God can offer through His Son, Jesus Christ, and by the working of the Holy Spirit convicting you of your sin. We must give God the opportunity of offering us forgiveness and us offering to Him an honest and sincere reaction to His conviction of our sin in every aspect of who we are and what we have done.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” Matthew 5:3. John the Baptist came before Christ preaching the Baptist of Repentance through confession and the washing of water in the river Jordan. He said, “Repent ye, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” Matthew 3:2. Repentance and receiving the Kingdom of heaven go hand-in-hand. You cannot have the kingdom of heaven without repentance—the action of true confession, the washing of the Holy Spirit, and getting rid of your sins—comes only through the acknowledgment that God is judging our sins through Jesus Christ. Can any of us find forgiveness, not without God’s help? No, because it’s complicated and Spirit-driven.

Sin can be obvious, sin can be hidden, sin is not only found in our actions but our motives and sin is not doing things God way or in accordance with His timing. King David asked God in the Psalms, “Search my heart and see if there be any wicked way in me.”

To be ‘poor in spirit’ is to be broken, contrite, to be in a constant state of reflection, confession, and repentance—we must also judge ourselves in order for God to make us clean. Forgiveness is not a one-time event but a daily activity allowing the Holy Spirit to convict, correct, and bring forgiveness to us. We fail God if we do not allow God the opportunity of bringing forgiveness to us. When we refuse to accept repentance on God’s terms with forgiveness actively working in our lives daily—minute-by-minute, hour-by-hour, day-by-day then being forgiven is only a hope off in the distance.

I try to keep myself in a constant state of forgiveness and therefore always willing to repent quickly, just as God asked the seven churches to do in the Revelation of John. Let’s be quick to repent, allowing the Holy Spirit to search us totally and completely through each day we live.

By not being a person who is ‘poor in spirit’ is not only a sin but furthermore, you will never have the Kingdom of Heaven in your life. This is how we know the Holy Spirit is working in our lives for He (the Holy Spirit) is the one who brings us rain.

No hope, no purpose & unanswered

November 3, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

No Hope, No Purpose & Unanswered

At times I have been without hope or purpose. My prayers go unanswered. I wonder if Jesus is out there, looking over me. God seems so far away and the Holy Spirit seems inactive in my life. The Bible seems to have no meaning or relevance to my life. Even though I am alive I walk as if I am dead. Have you ever been there?

I have traveled through the valley of death many times in my life. I have been there for a short period of time or it seemed like a lifetime. But God never left me there! Why He allowed me to travel in a dark and lonely place I do not know. The only thing I realized is that even though I felt that He was far away from me, He was much closer than I realized and was watching me each step of the way. His love finally found me and took me into the mountains of His praise.

When I am in such a dark place I start to pray for others—their needs and express thankfulness for them. When I look not only to myself but others when I am in need, it is only then that God reaches down to me and pushes me into His light.

You have just 3 days of prayer left to complete the 50 Days of Prayer Challenge.

1. We must pray for the Presidency of the United States and ask God to give Mr. Trump the 3rd Chapter of Psalms. We must be asking for our President’s protection and God’s righteous judgment upon his enemies.

2. Three days left of the challenge of 50 days of prayer for 51 Capitals. We must be asking God to send the Holy Spirit to move over and in our State and National Capitals. If we would pray God would begin to heal our land.

3. Lastly, let’s pray that all those who have the calling and spirit of the ministry of Elijah and Elisha to pray for God to move over our nation. It is time for God’s Spirit to be poured out like heavy rain and the flooding of God’s Spirit upon America through repentance, righteous, and great judgment.

Want to feel better and get out of the darkness you are experiencing, take the challenge of praying for others and thanking God for what He is about to do.

LET’S BE THANKFUL WHEN WE PRAY; LOOKING TO JESUS THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF OUR FAITH.

Preparing for rain

November 1, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Giving God the Opportunity

#1 Preparing for Rain

Lately, I have been encouraging all Christian to pray, but when God is talking I try to listen even more intently. God talks to us often and in a variety of ways. I sometimes miss the moment when He is trying to get my attention. God is a gentleman; He does not force Himself on us. This is why He has offered a variety of means to talk with us, and He encourages us “to know His voice”.

Jesus said, “My sheep know my voice.” I have many stories about knowing the voice of God and how God gets our attention. But, what I am about to share with you comes directly from ‘knowing God’s voice’ nothing else.

Out of the blue, without any inclination of God wanting to speak to me, the Spirit of God spoke to me these words, “Prepare for rain.” I knew immediately that God was not speaking about physical downpours, but the rain that is spoken about in Scriptures and comes to us only from the Holy Spirit. So I began to think about what the Spirit had spoken to me, ‘prepare for rain’. I decided to do some Biblical research about the words ‘preparing, to prepare, and preparation’ and the meaning behind ‘rain’. Here are the results:

John the Baptist’s ministry was about preparing the people of Israel for the coming of Christ. He was to prepare the way for Jesus. His ministry was all about repentance and the cleansing from sin.

Jesus spoke about preparing our lives for the deposits of God’s nature into our life. Jesus said for us to prepare the ‘soil of our lives’—break up the hard ground and get ready for the planting of God’s Word and the receiving of God’s rain.

The Old Testament speaks of becoming a new vessel for the Master’s use. Jesus said God cannot put new wine into old wineskins. Prepare, prepare, prepare—this is a central concept of New Testament doctrine.

God will not send rain without preparation, and preparation means getting rid of the old and ushering in the new. We must become clean, whole, and ready to do His will. Now more than ever God is reaching out to us saying, “I want a relationship with my people.”

This preparation for Christ’s return in the last days must come. I am praying this prayer, “God prepare me! Breakup the unproductive ground in my life so the rain of heaven can be absorbed into my life. So much rain that I cannot contain but overflows to all around me.”

I am thanking God for you!

October 29, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

I Give God Thanks for You!

Prayer changes everything! As we pray “In Jesus Name” and according to the will of the Father, we have what we ask for. I must give thanks to each and every one of you that have taken on the 50 Days of Prayer Challenge. I have seen so many things happen in our nation already and am persuaded that God wants to do so much for us. I am reminded of the Scripture, “If my people would only humble themselves and pray.” If we would only believe and be faithful, God would do anything for us—all things are possible for those to respond to the will of God—God calls us people of faith.

Beginning next week I will begin a series of articles based on the Biblical concept of ‘being prepared’. God spoke to me about preparing for rain from heaven and I want to share what I have learned. I believe it could be one of the most critical series of articles I have ever written. Please let me know if God shares anything with you; I want the Body of Christ to be ready for everything the Church will experience before Christ’s return.

There are just 10 days of prayer left to complete the 50 Days of Prayer Challenge Together let’s do some fasting, praying at odd times of the day, and expect God to not only hear our prayers but answer them speedily during this time.

1. We must pray for the Presidency of the United States and ask God to give Mr. Trump the 3rd Chapter of Psalms. We must be asking for our President’s protection and God’s righteous judgment upon his enemies.

2. Twenty days left of the challenge of 50 days of prayer for 51 Capitals.

Only 10 days to complete the challenge.

Looking for Character

October 27, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

How to Identify a Person of Character

It is not easy to identify a person of character. Often we hide who we really are—we know our flaws yet we want people to like us. Unscrupulous individuals have fooled me many times in my life.

I developed this ‘simple rule’ when it comes to evaluating people—“I make up my own mind about people.” I do not decide the worth of a person based on what others tell me, what the media says, or if they are related to a friend or family members. In short, I decide; I do not accept some else’s opinion.

I am really looking for these qualities in a person’s character: one, their acceptance of God’s rules—is their belief system of right and wrongs in alignment with the Bible; two, are they a person of compassion—are they a person of legalism or a person of sincerity and able to forgive; and three, are they constantly promoting themselves or are they humble enough to give credit to whom respect and honor is due.

If I find these qualities in a person, I can begin to trust them with a task, responsibility, or my friendship. If I have a friend who loses any of these qualities, I eventually remove them from my ‘friends list’. I cannot change people; only God can give people a new heart and a right spirit. To love people like Jesus loved people, first, we must see people like Jesus saw people.

Today, there are many Christians that do not have these qualities—they are “sheep in wolves clothing.” These Christians are selfish, liars, and full of jealousy. In the last days, we must not allow Christians to be Christians just because they say they are religious—the Book of Revelation speaks to this end.

All of us should constantly and consistently work on having the Bible as our moral guide, offer compassion liberally, and seek to promote others rather than ourselves. This is what Jesus would want me to do and be.

Instructions & Preparations

October 25, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

A Reminder of What’s to Come

There are plenty of books that reference the Second Coming of Christ. People have been guessing for over 2,000 years when Christ will return and what will take place. Mankind wants to know if the Revelation of John is correct and when its predictions will begin.

The Bible tells us to be looking for Christ’s return; His return is upon us. Yet, there is a warning that you will not know the time, season, or day of His return. Only God the Father knows when that will happen. God is not going to share that information with us. But, we can see the signs of His coming the Bible says. Things are getting worse and all of creation does show signs of slowing down and growing old. Our world is at the ‘end of its rope’ and there is ‘little to nothing’ that man can do to undo what God has promised will take place over the earth.

I do not know the time of Christ’s return but I can be prepared. Revelation and the teachings of Christ in the Gospels give me hope and wisdom in how to get ready. I believe His return is just around the corner. Will I still be alive when Jesus returns—I do not know, but if I am not watching, not preparing, and not doing my best to help others then God’s judgment, not His salvation, is waiting for me.

This is what I believe:

· The Revelation of John has been unfolding since the moment Christ ascended into heaven.

· That Jesus’s teachings on the end-times in the Gospel are the clearest biblical information for us to understand what is to come.

· What now is taking place on the earth will never get better—things will only get worse.

· We will never know when Christ will return but this should never stop us from waiting and preparing for His return.

· There are common sense things we can do to prepare and help others and ourselves for devastating and destructive times (read instructions below).

· Patience and wisdom will be the only two qualities that will keep one’s soul and spirit in the last days.

· We must learn how to pray, memorize portions of the Bible, become dependent on the Holy Spirit to sustain us, and not fail in our love for God. God warns about loving family, friends, and things of this world more than Him in the last days.

The Lord told me two years ago that He was bringing “8 no 10 years of prosperity to America.” This has already been taking place. You must do these things during this time of prosperity: get out of debt—stop living off of credit; become self-sufficient—educate oneself so you can fix all kinds of items; and make sure you have things repaired or new enough to last for about 8 years after this time of prosperity. As it was with Joseph in Egypt (7 years of prosperity and 7 years of prosperity) so it will be with America (8 years & 8 years). We must be prepared and be able to help others that will be in need. So let’s be faithful and get ready. The wisdom of God demands it; Jesus instructs us.

Only 14 Days of Prayer Left

October 23, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

God, Are You Listening?

A prayer of David

All of us have said this statement to God, “God are you listening to me?” There are times when I pray a short phrase and I have my request immediately and other times I feel like I am pounding on the doors of heaven and God just is not opening His doors to me. Here are some suggestions to receive what you are asking God for.

When my prayer life is running into problems I turn to the Bible—I often pray prayers that King David wrote about in Psalms. One of my favorites is Psalms 69 verse 13. “But as for me, my prayer is to you, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of your mercy hear me, in the truth of your salvation.

I realize that Satan is hindering my prayers for God’s will to be done. So I remind God of His promises and my position in Christ. I come to God not in confidence alone but in my dependence on His mercy and the truth of His salvation for me. It is always acceptable to approach God through the redemption of Jesus Christ—Christ is the door to God who is in heaven.

We must realize and affirm that prayer is a battle for God’s will to be done and God’s judgment must accompany our requests and supplications for God to act in history. That is why David continued in verses 14 through 36. These verses are the details of the prayer mentioned in verse 13. It is time to pray the prayers of victory and God’s love for His people. “Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters. 15 Let not the flood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth on me. 16 Hear me, O LORD; for your loving kindness is good: turn to me according to the multitude of your tender mercies. 17 And hide not your face from your servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily. 18 Draw near to my soul, and redeem it: deliver me because of my enemies. 19 You have known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonor: my adversaries are all before you. 20 Reproach has broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none. 21 They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink. 22 Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap. 23 Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake. 24 Pour out your indignation on them, and let your wrathful anger take hold of them. 25 Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents. 26 For they persecute him whom you have smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom you have wounded. 27Add iniquity to their iniquity: and let them not come into your righteousness. 28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous. 29But I am poor and sorrowful: let your salvation, O God, set me up on high. 30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. 31 This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that has horns and hoofs. 32 The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God. 33 For the LORD hears the poor, and despises not his prisoners. 34 Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and every thing that moves therein. 35 For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession. 36 The seed also of his servants shall inherit it: and they that love his name shall dwell therein.”

There are just 14 days of prayer left to complete the 50 Days of Prayer Challenge.

Just 14 days to complete the challenge; pray Psalms 69:13-36.
