Do you feel it?

It’s Upon Us…Do You Feel It?

As I was shopping in Wal-Mart all of a sudden I could sense, no feel, the moving of the Holy Spirit. God asked, “Do you feel it?” God spoke to me often about the coming movement of the Spirit of God in America. I have been praying and waiting for it. It is not a revival, or awakening, or like anything else God has sent to America before.

You will not find this movement of God in our churches, nor will you not find it on God TV, nor will you find it in the most likely places, but you will find it in your local Wal-Mart and Starbucks; at the seashore and in the countryside corner. Those individuals that serve God by their egos will not be part of this movement.

It will be a movement initiated and supported by God alone—no personalities will be able to find profit in this movement. Beware all who serve God for profit—this movement will bring God’s judgment with it.

You will find this movement in our hospitals, our business, and wherever people are working and looking for help. Yes, the gay movement will be flooded with the Spirit of God and they will not know how to stop it.

Those who try to stop it God will exercise His judgment upon them. Those who oppose and ridicule God in this movement, God will kill with the words of His mouth. It is not like anything America has ever seen or known about before. It will bring fear and rejoicing to those who embrace it. The wisdom of God will fulfill God’s will in this movement.

Do you feel it? It is upon us! A movement of the Holy Spirit like what is recorded in Acts and early church history. Are you ready? Young men, get ready to see visions to perform and old men to dream dreams that will change history. Come, Lord Jesus, come!

Living a life of freedom

February 13, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Getting Out of Jail

I see so many of my Christian friends—those that are still in jail. Yes, they are in bondage either to themselves or to Satan. They have no freedom and are “carried about by an evil wind” that blows across their lives. They want and like being a Christian but that have kept some behavioral traits of past lifestyles. They are ‘luke-warm’, both Godly and worldly at the same time.

It is sad to see them without joy and in constant turmoil in their daily activities. God does have a remedy for this style of ‘jail-time’. Jesus was sent “To bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound” (Isaiah 61:1). Wouldn’t you like to be ‘really free’? I have a Biblical remedy for you.

In Isaiah 58 God talks about fasting, “Is not this the fast I have chosen? To lose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens and to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke (bondage)?”

I want you to do a new type of fasting this month or any month (it’s not a call to fast without food) a ‘spiritual fast’— a fast to find freedom! A spiritual fast can be without food at times but it is only a fast of saying ‘NO’. (Theological note: One cannot fast [a fast without food] unless God calls you to such a fast—at least for 40 days. Anyone can fast for a day or even a couple of weeks without food but a 40 day fast—no way—unless God calls you to such a fast. When Jesus fasted it was the Spirit of God that drove Him to fast 40 days in the desert without food or water.)

In a ‘spiritual fast’ God is asking us to say ‘NO’. Ask yourself, “Are you in any type of bondage?” Does fear dominate your life? Or, how about anger? Is it jealousy, a lifestyle trait, spending money, doubt or shyness?” It can be anything that stops the best God has to offer from producing fruit in your life. A ‘spiritual fast’ can help you.

For 40 days (or any lengthy number of days) challenge that flaw in the character that has placed you in jail. Any behavior that binds you, which you do not have freedom over. For 40 days just say “no” to the behavior. Begin your ‘spiritual fast’ by praying and asking God to keep you and strength to say no—just like Jesus, as He said no to Satan when Satan told Him to jump to the ground from a top of a building but Jesus said, “No, do not tempt God in doing evil.” You can do this, and make sure you quote this Scripture when you pray each day or time of temptation:

Matthew 4: 6-7 Then the devil takes him up into the holy city, and sets him on a pinnacle of the temple, 6 And said to him, If you be the Son of God, cast yourself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning you: and in their hands they shall bear you up, lest at any time you dash your foot against a stone. 7 Jesus said to him, "It is written again, you shall not tempt the Lord your God."

God wants us free and a ‘spiritual fast’ will bring freedom to your life. Take on just one aspect of your life at a time. If it is anger that dominates your life do not try to say No to every time you get angry about but just one aspect of your anger. Maybe it’s anger when someone gets in your way when you are driving—so every time you usually get angry just say “no”—relax and tell Satan, “Not today—not this time!” Do this for 40 days—declare a ‘spiritual fast’ as unto the Lord. You will be set free and your freedom in Christ of this aspect of anger will come to you on eagle’s wings, as bright as the morning sun. As Jesus said “no” so can you—declare a spiritual fast and fast as unto the Lord with Jesus at your side. Remember, a ‘spiritual fast’ is not saying ‘no to food’ but ‘no to that behavior’ that you are in bondage too. Once God gives you freedom from that aspect of your behavior, then you can tackle another aspect of your anger—another ‘Spiritual Fast’ for 40 days of saying “No!”

If you would like to know about a ‘Spiritual Fasting’ and saying ‘No’, email me. I want you free in Christ and victorious over any and all kinds of behavior bondage.

It’s your future–get prepared

February 11, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Your Future, My Future

All of us would like to know what is on the horizon—our future is important to each of us. How can one plan without knowing what is ahead? The trouble with knowing ‘our future’ is that it is more ‘a guess’ rather than ‘a science’.

I rarely know the specifics to my future. When I do, it is usually my present situation allowing me to decide my future circumstances. We like to be in control of our future—we like ‘calling the shots’. Nevertheless, God would like to be allowed into the mix.

God gave me some insight into all of our futures about 2 years ago. God wants His people to prosper in every way possible, especially financially, and God often gives us direction. Biblical stories and specific Bible verses support the truth of God directing our steps (our future).

God spoke to me; stating these specific words, “America will experience prosperity in the next eight years, no ten years.” I am sure many in the Body of Christ can witness to this advice. In fact, I am sure many Christians are already experiencing better financial or monetary gains. God indeed wants us to prosper. This is not just for us personally but for the whole Body of Christ to support each other and our communities.

You will find financial means to live a better and more productive lifestyle in the coming years. But, there are a few things that accompany financial increase. I suggest you do these things in the next 8 years: one, get out of debt—do not owe anyone or any institution anything; two, if you have to borrow make sure you do not get into any long-range commitment—pay off the credit line in 3-5 years; and three place cash aside in a personal safe in order to be prepared if an emergency arises–$5,000.00 for each member of your household.

I believe, but yet have I heard from others in the Body of Christ, that after 10 years of prosperity there will be a few years of financial collapse. We need to save and gain financial freedom in the next few years in order to be prepared for years of non-prosperity. Gold and silver are not good investments neither are certain goods that one might think you can barter with. I suggest having all things paid off, all material items to be in good working order and able to last for a few years, and have quick access to some money/cash to purchase items when you no longer have funds in your bank account.

As it was in the time of Joseph in Egypt so it will be in America. Church get ready and do not waste the times of prosperity God is giving you to become more in bondage to lines of credit or banks. It is time to plan for the possibility of hard times—it is time to save and “owe no man anything” as the Bible says.

News Release–Prayer Matters

February 10, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Prayer Matters—Ohio

News Release: Beloit, Ohio (WKBN) – It’s been a tradition in the West Branch School District for the past 30 years — a community prayer before the basketball game. That tradition was put on hold because of a complaint, but those who wanted to pray still had the chance to on Friday. “Please remain standing for a moment of silence, reflection, prayer or meditation,” the announcer told the crowd. Afterward, everyone clapped and cheered. The over 100 people in the gym wore black and green shirts that read, “Prayer Matters.” “I was upset and outraged because our community is such a close-knit community, and it’s upsetting to see something that’s so important to so many people get taken down,” said West Branch graduate Whitney Parkinson.

Freedom of Religion is not really protected in America’s courts today. One is not allowed to be passionate about his or her religious beliefs or practices. It is sad to think how far America has come—to reject the very God that brought our Founding Fathers to a new land with the hope of ‘Freedom of Religion’.

There is not much the school district can do. The political group, Freedom From Religion, threatened litigation if the district would not stop this practice of praying during basketball games. However, it is ignorance, not litigation that is stopping our schools from learning about and expressing religious freedoms.

If this school district or any other educational institution would like to express their religious freedoms through learning about religion all they have to do is implement the program, Foundations of Freedom.org. Yes, students can once again pray, speak, act, or demonstrate in any educational format their religious freedoms. This program was developed and tested and is free to any school or students that want to once again proclaim the significance religion has played in American history and traditions.

Quote on the website: “By implementing Foundations of Freedom a school may enhance its curriculum resources and secure the teaching of specific content standards in its history, social science, fine arts, and literature content areas. The program provides to students, families, schools, and communities assistance in the education and understanding of religious freedom and First Amendment rights in American history. It seeks to promote the profound influence religion and religious beliefs have had on all aspects of American’s societal, cultural, and political life from the 16th century through present day events.”

You will find this program under the web address: www.foundationsoffreedom.org.

Memos, Memos and more Memos

February 9, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

People, Politics & Memos

I am sure you have heard about “the memos”. First, it was one memo, then two memos and now there are more very important memos. Wow, so many memos I wonder if the news can keep it all straight? I wonder how many memos the public will really care about when this is all over with?

Here is my political and thoughtful insight into this matter. One, the Clintons have always been crooked. They came to the Whitehouse with a very shady reputation from Arkansas. They have spoken often of their desire to be rich and both Clintons have always wanted to be powerful and President of the United States. There might be nothing wrong politically with these two motives except the way you go about getting rich and powerful.

I mentioned previously that Hillary does have the “mark of the beast” on her life. Only a fool or a spiritually blind Christian does not see that. Anyone with the mark of the beast will only serve themselves and the beast that they worship.

Second, Barack Obama was approached and offered the Presidency of the United States. Anyone of his background would jump at wanting to be President. His only flaw was/is his pride. His pride, ‘look at me, I am President’ was not only presented to the American people but countries around the world. Obama thought because he was the first black President that he should be honored, respected, and obeyed without being questioned or criticized. To this day his desire to have a legacy that is above all other Presidents is still his primary goal.

Whenever desire to be rich, lust for power, or pride in your position comes into play destruction is not far behind. ‘Whoever exalts himself will be brought to a low position’ the Bible says.

None of what is going on in politics surprises me. There is nothing good or honorable in how politics is conducted in America today. My advice to all Americans, “Do not look to Washington to solve or assist in making your life better or alleviating your problems.” It is Christ alone that is our hope and salvation, not a set of political beliefs or the politicians that serve their own interests rather than the people that voted them into office.

The Eagles had wind

February 5, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

It’s Obvious

Did you watch the Super Bowl game yesterday? It was a good game; the score stayed close and the action was exciting. However, from the very first few plays, I noticed that the Eagles had the ‘wind to their backs’.

The Eagles were not supposed to win; the Patriots were by far the favorite. “It is not by might nor by power but by my Spirit says the Lord.” Yes, it is that very Scripture that I could see working in the game. I do not believe God is interested in winning and losing when it comes to sports but rather who is willing to give Him the praise.

I saw nothing but pride in the faces of the Patriots Team, and just the opposite in the Eagle players. You could tell members of the Eagles Team were Christians that took their profession seriously—that is their confession in Christ. Yes, they also played football.

When we are humble and willing to express Jesus Christ as our Savior—willing to be ridiculed for our profession of faith, God is not far away. I guess the Eagles should not have won but God honors humility, not greatness. The Eagles had God’s wind in their wings.

This is when God is watching and has your back. It is in humility alone and our faith in Jesus that miracles and wonders follow our actions. I have never been an Eagle fan but a fan of Jesus Christ; yes this is who I am and hope to always be.

February’s Character of the Month

February 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Walking on Water, Ain’t the Only Miracle

Character of the Month Series

One’s character depends on not just seeing with our eyes but seeing with our heart. It is with one’s heart and voice that you believe in God for righteousness. Jesus walking on water (Matthew 14:22-33) was not the only miracle; it was everything else that was going on during His walk on water.

Let’s recount the story. 1st Jesus needed to get to the other side of the lake but He had no boat, there was a storm brewing, and He was not going to walk around the lake—too long of a walk. 2nd God wanted His Son on the other side of the lake in the morning. 3rd Walking on water is better than swimming like a fish—this way Jesus could keep praying and interceding with God. 4th Walking on water is not the most significant miracle here, it was the ‘super glue’ on the soles of His sandals that kept Jesus from slipping and sliding on the waves of the storm. 5th Walking on water is easy if you are not afraid of the storm—the waves crashing around you and their strength overpowering you. 6th The ability to call on others (Peter) to come to you on the water in the mist of the storm, and the transfer of supernatural power to others in order to walk with you. 7th The immediate transfer and movement of the fishing boat from the storm to the land on the other side of the lake.

My point is, it is not the walking on the water that is important in the story; it is all the other supernatural events that took place while Jesus was on the water. Our belief that “all things are possible with God” and “having no fear” when it comes to God’s will is what this story is telling me.

One’s character must find its home in the will of God and without fear of the unknown. A person of great character knows only one thing—“What does Jesus want me to do, go and be.” It is this type of character that God is looking to create in our lives.

Real character accepts God’s power in us working His purposes for His glory alone!

Names of God #7-my final answer-Jesus

January 28, 2018 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Names of God— the end of the Matter

God’s Final Name!

It is not easy to pronounce God’s names. They come from ancient Hebrew texts and had been hidden for many years. However, you can go to the following two websites and listen or read in detail how and why we pronounce God’s names. Tony Evans website gives us an auditory example of pronouncing God’s names which will help you greatly. Hope Ministries will give you the academic and historical reference in understanding the importance of God’s name.

Praying and Pronouncing the Names of God – Tony Evans

How to Pronounce God’s Name – Hope of Israel Ministries

However, I did not yet mention the final name of God—it is Jesus, Jesus Christ or Lord Jesus. It is this name that is above all names, the Bible says. There are many references to the name of Jesus in the Bible and synonyms to His name. Listed below are the names adjectives, nouns, titles, or action words in describing the name of Jesus.

It is the name of Jesus that I speak into a situation, an event, a healing or miracle, or when I cry out for help. I just say, “Jesus”; nothing more and nothing less. The name of Jesus alone changes everything. The Bible says it is only ‘on the name of Jesus’ that one can be saved and if one believes on His name (Jesus) we are born of God. Everything points to this name—Jesus. It is in the name of Jesus that I trust and find life.

Names of God, Part 7 (more details)

Jehovah Sabaoth (The Lord of Hosts)

First seen in 1 Samuel 1:3 – Used in the Bible more than 285 times

Jehovah is actually YHWH and means Lord and Master. It is the promised and proper name of God. Sabaoth means an army going out to war. Used together Jehovah Sabaoth means The Lord of Armies or The Lord of Hosts. The Lord reigns over a vast well ordered host in the heavenlies. God is always there to defend us, fight our battles, and win our wars. There is no enemy he cannot defeat.

Jehovah Raah (The Lord Is My Shepherd)

Occurs once in Psalms 23:1. (Raah is also used in reference to God in Genesis 48:15, Genesis 49:24, and Psalm 80:1) Jehovah is actually YHWH and means Lord and Master. It is the promised and proper name of God. Raah means to shepherd or feed, to supply with food, and to be a good friend. Jehovah Raah means The Lord Is My Shepherd. God is a friend who provides extravagant nourishment, protection, as well as rest for our weary bodies and souls.

Jehovah Tsidkenu (The Lord Our Righteousness)

First seen in Jeremiah 23:6 – Only other occurrence is in Jeremiah 33:16 Jehovah is actually YHWH and means Lord and Master. It is the promised and proper name of God. Tsidkenu means justice, rightness, righteousness, deliverance, victory, and prosperity. Used together Jehovah Tsidkenu means The Lord Who Is Our Righteousness. God himself stands for us and provides us with His righteousness and justice when we don’t have any in ourselves. He is the one who provides victory and our prosperity.

Jehovah Shammah (The Lord Is There)

Occurs only once in Ezekiel 48:35 Jehovah is actually YHWH and means Lord and Master. It is the promised and proper name of God. Shammah is an adverb that simply means there, although when it’s used in relation to time it means then. Together Jehovah Shammah means The Lord is There. God revealed this name at a time when Israel was in rebellion and in captivity. God was letting the Jews know that he had not forsaken them and that he was still there, both in their present as well as in their future. Regardless of what you are going through, or what you are heading into, you can take comfort knowing that God is already there.

Names of God, Part 6 (with more details)

Jehovah Nissi (The Lord Is My Banner)

Occurs only once in Exodus 17:15 “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” Jehovah is actually YHWH and means Lord and Master. It is the promised and proper name of God. Nissi means flag or banner so together Jehovah Nissi means The Lord Is My Banner. God himself is our banner and victory. He gives us hope and a focus and is the one who wins our battles.

El Qanna (Jealous God)

First seen in Exodus 20:5 – Used 6 times in the Bible.

El is likely related to the word Elohim and is used in conjunction with other descriptive words to specifically reference a particular characteristic of God. Qanna means jealous, zealous, or envy. Used together El Qanna means Jealous God. God’s jealousy is a holy, loving jealousy without any of the insecure manipulation or control that comes packaged with worldly jealousy. It draws from the marriage relationship with a picture of a husband jealous for his wife. God longs for each of us to put him first in our lives in priority and importance, not out of ego, but because he knows that is truly what is best for us.

Jehovah Mekoddishkem (The Lord Who Sanctifies You)

First seen in Exodus 31:13 (Only other occurrence is in Leviticus 20:8)

Jehovah is actually YHWH and means Lord and Master. It is the promised and proper name of God. Mekoddishkem means holy or set apart. It is the process of sanctification, which is the separation of something so that it is holy. Used together Jehovah Mekoddishkem (can have the variant spelling Jehovah M’Kaddesh) means The Lord Who Sanctifies You. God sets us apart as his children when we become believers. He sanctifies us and makes us holy because we are incapable of it on our own.

Jehovah Shalom (The Lord Is Peace)

Occurs only once in Judges 6:24

Jehovah is actually YHWH and means Lord and Master. It is the promised and proper name of God. Shalom means peace, the absence of strife, complete, or sound. Used together Jehovah Shalom means The Lord Is Peace. When it seems like the whole world is against you or that you are completely unable to deal with whatever problem is in front of you, turn to the God of peace to find comfort and strength.
