It’s a fearful thing

A Timely Warning California

I live in California and being in a state that has created havoc and heartache for so many Americans, it is embarrassing to say I live here.

I have a prophetic and timely warning for all who live here—“God is not pleased!”

If California moves ahead once again with its plans and national agenda to influence the nation, God will not be looking the other way. I believe God is now saying, “Enough is enough.”

God has spoken through religious leaders, prophetic words and pastoral teachings that we have been moving the wrong direction and supporting Satan’s endeavors. God is about to change all of that. If we do not repent and return to the teachings of Christ then God’s judgment will be the order of business.

We know throughout scripture, Old or New Testament, that God seeks those to worship Him in Spirit and Truth. This action on our part is for us to support and do God’s will no matter the consequences or destruction.

If we will not respond to the mercy and grace of God, then we will respond to the harsh hand of God judgment. God will make sure He is honored and respected (Book of Revelation).

God is coming California; His Kingdom will be on earth—you have been warned!

It’s as easy as 1,2,3!

January 3, 2017 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Every Where I Turn

It would be nice to be able to hear God’s voice, to have God’s face in front of us all the time, and to have the presence of the Lord with us and moving through us at any given moment of time. Yes, you can have these character traits in Christ. He promised them and gives them to us for the asking. Do not be afraid, God wants to have you close to Him and to be successful in Him. You can trust Him for this.

I keep reading about ‘Words from the Lord’ from many different religious leaders. They are expressing hope and the promise of God helping us in the coming year. I am excited and yet cautious. God has stirred the hearts of our leaders and I am hoping that each of us become stirred as well. Remember, God does His part and we must do our part—it is a partnership!

This first step of ‘God in us’ is our ability to looking for God to ‘show up’. I like to be surprised by God and am always looking for Him to ‘catch me off guard’. While I was not expecting God to move in a given situation He did anyway. I am grateful that He loves me no matter what—it is like a surprise birthday gift when I am not looking for God yet He impacts my life.

Second step, God is always asking me to believe a little more deeply each day. Do not fall to the temptation that once you have believed in God, that now, that is all you need to do. Believing is a growth process, we must believe more deeply and more strongly than how we believed yesterday in God. We need to tell God we believe in Him each day and reach for something more about God to believe Him for today.

Third step (three simple attributes), I try to find ways to routinely connect with God and often these are ways that take little effort on my part. Having Christian music being played in the background—this helps my thought processes stay at peace and my spirit calm; listening to Scriptures read to me even though I am not paying attention to each verse being said—my ability to believe more greatly increases when I do this; and lastly, being grateful for the little and big things that happen to me during the day—being grateful/thankful for people and events that I am connected too allows God to work in the lives and situations of others and keeps Satan at a distance.

You want hope this year and God to make you successful in your walk with Him, then partner with Him. It is often the little things you do that catches God attention and moves His heart to watch over you. You can trust Him!

2017 and Beyond

December 31, 2016 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

My Hopes & Concerns for 2017

What to be looking for in 2017? Don’t you wish we had a clear picture of what is to come? I want to be prepared. Here are some things I believe all of us need to be aware of and what to prepare for no matter what comes during 2017.

“During personal Bible study time, it came to me that we should be ashamed to say that we are trusting God, only to then turn to the world’s solutions for our problems” stated by Dr. Alveda King. I whole-heartily believe her perspective is correct. The church has been seeking solutions to our problems by hoping our government officials come to our aid. It is God alone that is our hope and strength. What He decides and dictates are the only solutions to all our concerns and problems.

For the past 40 plus years the church has been looking for political, social and legal solutions to moral dilemmas of our day. God of course uses societal and cultural means to produce His will, but when we try to do things on our own without God’s actions in man’s affairs, Satan will always win.

If we, you and me, are wanting a spiritual solution to where we find ourselves then let’s look to God alone and stop trying to figure out how we can produce God’s will. God is willing to show us His will (His purposes and actions plans) but He is looking for a people who will do things His way for His purposes.

Here is my limited wisdom by looking back and then to the future:

· It was no mistake or political maneuvering that Donald Trump was elected President. God alone wanted this man in power and therefore our prayers are too protect and help him in being humble.

· We need to continue in ‘intercession’ for our President and all people in his administration. God wants ‘people of faith and spiritual conviction’ to have input in the new administration and decision-making. I hope you will become and stay a person of prayer and strength during the next 8 to 10 years.

· A revival in on the way, but it will only affect those individuals that are seeking the best from God and willing to respond as the Holy Spirit moves them. I believe this next revival is a partial fulfillment of the Book of Revelation.

· Do not think that ‘all will be good’ while the next President is in power. There will be battles between darkness and light, it will not be easy. Do not lose hope or seek solutions outside of God’s will…God is looking for people that will give Him all the glory and honor.

· Stay vigilant! Continue to be prepared for tragedy. Have means to take care of your family if tragedy strikes. People in California get earthquake insurance and have supplies to sustain your life for days. Make sure you have the means to move to safer conditions, be mobile. There will be more and more deadly earthquakes and they are not man’s doing.

· Judgment will become a central part in what God will be doing in all the earth for the next few years. There will be change in how the Church thinks and what it does as it influences mankind before Christ’s return.

· God has made us promises over the past 40 plus years. Ask God to fulfill his promises to you. He stands now at the door and knocks. Let’s do whatever it takes to have the blessings and purposes of God in our lives.

Everything God has asked me to pray about the past few months has come to pass. God is asking all of us to intercede for His will to be done. What you do matters to God. Be brave, be kind, be consistent, be faithful—let’s make our robes white in the blood of Christ and be prepared to go out to meet Him when He returns, whether in our lifetime or our children.

Peace & Prosperity Produces Faith

December 29, 2016 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

I Want More Faith!

So often we ask God to increase our faith. We all want to trust Him more and have His purposes accomplished in our lives. There are two spiritual traits that process and increase our faith, and will support you when you need to activate your faith.

“Without faith we cannot please God,” we know this because it is stated in the Bible. Also, Jesus said, “Will the Son of God find faith on the earth when He returns?” Jesus was concerned about His church having faith to connect and accomplishing His will before He returns.

We know things will be very bad before Christ’s return. So bad, Scripture says, that no one will be able to do the work of God before Christ returns. Satan (the Antichrist) will be in control. Just like Jesus said at his crucifixion that this was Satan’s hour; before Christ’s return, Satan will have his hour again.

There is one thing, however, we all can have even when it is again a time of Satan’s dark-glory. God’s Peace knows no limits and does not care about circumstances. I have said this before and will say it again, “Get out of the boat and into the storm.” Jesus is in the storm walking on the raging waters; He is not in the boat. We must go to Him walking on the waves of the storm.

It is peace that can take you to Jesus during difficult times. When Peter got scared he began to sink—his faith to walk was vanishing. Often it is our worry, fear, doubt or unbelief that limits and keeps our faith from working. No peace, no faith—it’s just that simple.

Peace comes before and can be the spark that initiates the beginnings of faith working in our life. If I were asking for more faith, I would first ask God for His peace. The Bible says God’s peace, “Which goes beyond all understanding and will keep your mind and heart connected to God.” God’s peace helps you in making decisions. You will not respond to God if you are confused or scared—no peace, no decision, no faith.

One also needs God’s prosperity to increase one’s faith. Prosperity gives each of us strength to do what God is asking us to do. God’s prosperity is embedded in your spiritual health: mental soundness and personal freedom.

Often we are trying to have faith but either our weaknesses or Satan’s resistance binds us. Without freedom in God’s prosperity we cannot respond to God’s requests—we cannot respond in faith. God’s prosperity gives us financial, physical and spiritual freedom.

Peace and prosperity are prerequisites to having and operating in faith. Got faith, want faith—get peace and prosperity. We must pray consistently for the peace and prosperity of God’s church and for Israel—this is God’s will. Peace before faith and prosperity (freedom) before God’s will to take place. Come on Church, pray!

A Christmas eve inspiration & reading

December 24, 2016 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

For Unto Us…A Christmas Eve Reading

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given: and the government shall be on his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, and The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, on the throne of David, and on his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from now on even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. (Isaiah 9)

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is on me; because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings to the meek; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn. (Isaiah 61)

Surely he has borne our grief, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was on him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he opens not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he has put him to grief: when you shall make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he has poured out his soul to death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. (Isaiah 53)

Behold, I come quickly and my reward is with me, to give everyone according to his or her works. And the Spirit and the bride say ‘Come’. And let him that hears say, ‘Come’. Even so, “Come Lord Jesus, come!” (Revelation 22)

A Christmas present, a pinball machine–Wow!

December 23, 2016 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Pinball Machines

What does faith and a revival spirit have in common—pinball machines. I am not kidding. Often we avoid the simple things in life to communicate and explain the awesomeness of God.

I like playing pinball machines. They have been around for decades and are a favorite means of arcade entertainment for young people. They are simple yet challenging, and most of all, we like to compete against a machine.

Consider, God being the player, you the ball and life the pinball machine—you now have the ingredients for how faith works in your life. I know fully well that believing, hope, and trust are prerequisites for faith. The more you believe, hope, and trust the better your faith will work, and these three attributes move our faith along.

However, Faith simply is your response to the will of God. A true definition of Biblical faith is: God’s perfect will (His purposes, action plans, and requests) that impact your life, and it is your response and the depth of your response to His will that connects and implements God’s desires in every situation and decision you find yourself having to make for His glory alone.

This is why the negative attributes of doubt, fear, and unbelief inhibit faith from working. You will not make a faith response to God if these three qualities deter you from responding to God’s will. You find this scenario throughout the Old and New Testaments. God warns His chosen people and Jesus His disciples to make the right decisions, that is, to have faith—to respond to what God desires.

One either responds to God or does not respond to God—you either have faith or you do not. A speck of faith can move a mountain—the right response to God changes everything. It is just that simple.

It is like playing a pinball machine. Here are your choices: One, allowing God the option of placing you in play—striking you (you are the ball) and moving you toward God’s will. Two, facing the pins straight on—hitting/striking all the obstacles—not avoiding what God expects for you to score in doing His will. Three, to allow yourself to stay in play and be willing to continue to do God’s will, as long as God keeps you in play, by sending you (the ball) to once again do His will and connect with the pins scoring points for God alone.

God is looking for the persons who love Him with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength to play ball—to play His pinball machine of life. Faith operates out of your love for Christ—God know this. That is why the Bible says, “Without faith, you cannot please God.” (The depth of your decisions of faith comes from the depth of your love for Him.)

Will you exercise your faith—will you decide to score for God? The decisions are yours, in every step of your walk with Christ. Sure you will be knocked about, and it is not easy to stay in play. God will always be asking you to continue to ‘stay in play’ but that is who God is, and we either chose to play or allow ourselves to ‘bottom out’ of the game of doing His will. I rather choose God or should I say, “I rather play ball.”

To fight or not to fight

December 21, 2016 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Prosperity & Fighting

We have erred as Christians. Many of us have allowed others to ‘fight the fight of faith’ while we stood by in the safety of our homes and businesses. God has called all of us to “Put on the whole armor of God.” This is not a request but a command from God. Today’s Israel has learned this lesson but the Christian church has allowed Satan and those who follow him to diminish or halt our efforts and positions on truth.

There are two things all of us must do. These two attributes go hand-in-hand and are ingredients for any revival…to fight and to prosper. Want to prosper, learn to fight using the armor of God. Scripture is very clear about this but little is said or preached about finding the blessings of prosperity through fighting against evil.

There is so much said about giving and thereby prospering in God. This is of course true; one needs to be gracious financially. However, little is said about ‘the doers’ in Christ, those who fight the ‘good fight of faith’ and their reward of financial prosperity in Christ. Two Old Testament examples of this concept are Abraham and David.

Abraham was rewarded after the ‘slaughter of the kings’ when he rescued his nephew. Abraham did not keep his portion of the spoil but gave his total portion (10%) to the King of Peace. (Please note that his portion of 10% was a great deal of money.)

David also was a man who would not avoid a fight against evil. His whole life was one of confronting evil and breaking off the bondage other cultures had over Israel. In the end of his reign he gave about 60 billion dollars toward the building of the temple. Once again, those who fight the ‘good fight of faith’ God blesses financially, and they often turn around and give back to God what God has given them.

This is no mistake on God’s part. God gives to those who stand with Him. We are called to a battle, not against ‘flesh and blood’, but against all that is evil and all spiritual wickedness. In fact, everything that exalts itself against the truth of the Gospel and the will of God we should be confronting.

God will bless you but you need to fight—be bold and courageous even as Israel took the promise land and God blessed them. It is time we answered the call to fight. Not for our sakes but for His Sake. He loves us and we ought to love Him back—let’s fight using the armor of God. Satan needs to be defeated at all levels of our culture. We must not look to political, legal, or cultural solutions. It is God alone that can do miracles and it is Christ who has already won the battle.

It is you and me that God is calling to partner with Him, to fight with Him, and to laugh at our enemies even as God laughs.

It’s coming

December 20, 2016 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

Why God

I like to ask God “Why?” He does not always answer, but I know He is my friend—I know He loves me much more than I can ever love Him. So I ask, “Why now God? Why send a revival now?”

God is into time and why not? He created time, but I can never be as good at time as is the Holy Spirit. I leave time up to God. I do not know when Jesus is coming back—the Bible makes this quite clear—only God the Father knows this. But He offers insights and direction so Satan would not fool us. God wants us ready for His return—what an exciting time that will be!

I believe this next revival is a ‘timely-sign and fulfillment’ of God’s purposes for America and Israel. If we have revival and the outcome of the coming revival is the ‘peace and prosperity of God’s church and Israel’ (this I know is correct & true) then we can count of Christ’s return to be imminent.

We have not prospered nor have we been at peace. We have been more like Israel living in Egypt or traveling in the desert of Sinai. This is why I am pushing for all of us to ‘get on board’ to “what the Spirit is saying to the Churches”…to get with the next dramatic and timely move of the Holy Spirit.

Here are the purposes of this “timed revival”, at least, what the Spirit of God is saying to me. I am sure others of the Body of Christ can add more and have clearer insight.

Nevertheless, I believe…

The revival will begin shortly, maybe next month.

This move of the Spirit of God is in keeping with what God has done in the 2016 elections. It is important that God lines up all factions in our country that have authority. God wants this movement to affect all levels of our society—even into the dark and secret corners of our culture. (Pray for the ‘faith-factor’ in politics.)

This revival is possibly the last call for the church to get itself in order. Revelation is quite clear about what the church is lacking and how to fix its problems. God will never send judgment unless He sends the options for us to get our lives cleaned up and glorifying Him. (Revelation says: “Do not be lukewarm; test those who say they are Christians but are not; you must love God with your ‘first love’; stop agreeing with teachers who allow God’s people to sin and prophets to tell lies; you error by allow Christians to have idols and worship man-honoring gods [you look to other factors other than God to solve their
problems or prosper]; you say you are alive but you are really poor, blind and naked so repent; you must serve God with tremendous joy and all your strength—so fix this.” Rev. chapters. 1-4)

This revival will help the church to evangelize like the many examples in the Book of Acts. Without power and excitement for Jesus there is no lasing evangelism. We live in perilous and dark times; it will take the entire gospel to reach and change people’s lives.

This revival will be parallel to what took place in Daniel, Esther, Nehemiah, and Acts. I would like to encourage you to take a read of these books and see how God used the actors in the Bible to get things done. God is looking for people of love, courage and faith!

It is a revival about destroying the works of the devil. That’s right—it will be about fighting in the Holy Spirit. Christians have been marginalized, ridiculed, intimidated, offended, abused, and humiliated. “Enough is enough,” God is saying. He wants us to ‘laugh at our enemies’—enemies of the Cross of Christ.

Remember Paul…he was persecuting the church, and God reached out to stop him from the hatred he had for the church and to show him God’s love. What happened to Paul will also happen to the religious and illegitimate leaders of our day who say ‘they are Christians and are not’. You will see this happening in our culture.

It will be a time for ‘faith without borders and limits’, the ‘Kingdom of God with the fullness of the Holy Spirit’, and a ‘unity without restrictions’. Everyone will be amazed with the love that will flow between members of the Body of Christ.

I am sure there is more, but I thought it best to let you know; in case you were afraid to ask but wanted to know why…why now God? Let’s say, "Give me this revival, dear Jesus."

What do you hear?

December 19, 2016 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

How Stupid…

How stupid can one be? Well, that depends on what one identifies as stupid. God calls the simple things in life smarter and better than what we call intelligent or magnificent. The lily is greater than Solomon and the fingers and hands of a person are given more honor and importance than other body parts—well, according our Jesus in the Gospels. (If you were wise in Christ, you would be hearing the word, Revival.)

I am reminded by God, of my initial experiences at a west coast Christian university, how ignorant and gullible I can be. I was hired by a large private university to teach in the graduate programs. I had no experience as a professor, but I came to the university with character, integrity, and Christian commitment. One group wanted me and the other (shall I say, the ‘not too Christian’ group) did not think I was qualified enough. (If you were wise in Christ, you would be hearing the word, Revival.)

Nevertheless, I was hired and many superintendents of local school districts heard about me being in their city and came to greet me upon taking my new position. They honored me, and I was hoping to make a difference for Christ. (If you were wise in Christ, you would be hearing the word, Revival.)

After being there only one-month, while I would be driving home in the evening, I would cry for 30 to 60 minutes asking God, “Why did you bring me to a place that calls itself Christian; where Christ could not be found?” (If you were wise in Christ, you would be hearing the word, Revival.)

Furthermore, I would pray for my students each time before class began. I was amazed after doing this for 3 weeks, one class stopped me after one of the prayers and said, “No one had ever prayed for us before, and we have been going home telling our spouses, friends, family, and friends, ‘that we have a professor that actually prays for us’.” (If you were wise in Christ, you would be hearing the word, Revival.)

How stupid was I? Just because an institution called itself Christian does not mean it acts Christian. Just because they talked the Gospel of Christ, did not mean they lived it. Just because they prayed over their meals; smiled and said, “God bless you” did not mean they meant it or truly believed in Christ. How stupid I was! (If you were wise in Christ, you would be hearing the word, Revival.)

No wonder God says, “My people perish for lack of knowledge.” We can be very stupid and God knows it. This is why God gives us the Gift of Wisdom—we are to know ‘what God wants and the difference between good and evil’. If we do not take the time to find out what God wants, even though our plans might ‘be right’ and we have the ‘right motive’, if God does not say, “yes” to our plans, it is time to be smart and not move ahead. (If you were wise in Christ, you would be hearing the word, Revival.)

Church quit being stupid, “What does God say?” You cannot find what the will of God is without the Gift of Wisdom. Ask for an ear to hear God’s wisdom. Jesus said, “Wisdom from God cries in the streets.” You just need to listen! (If you were wise in Christ, you would be hearing the word, Revival.)

It’s a fearful thing

December 12, 2016 WWJWMTD by Steve the son of John

The Judgment of Revival

You cannot speak to me of any revival that did not include God’s judgment. It’s impossible because when God begins to move among us the works of the devil are destroyed and people who are envious or desirous of power—jealous of God—fall into their own traps. (Psalms is very clear about this and church history accounts for this premise.)

This article is a warning to those who hold positions of authority in Christianity. Individuals over religious denominations, Christian organizations, large out-reach ministries, or even Christian publications owners/editors. The Book of Acts talks about the struggles within the early church regarding doctrine and who receive the Gospel of Christ. Leaders were reluctant to allow certain ethnic groups to have aspects of the Gospel preached to them or others to have authority in the church. (Jealousy and ignorance are terrible attributes.)

Here is a story I know personally—I was there as a young teenager during this time. The Charismatic Movement began in three separate churches in three very different locations in America in 1959. One of those places was an Episcopal church in Turlock California. It was a small but very connected community church in a small rural city in the San Joaquin Valley.

The pastor (reverend) became a charismatic as well as many within his congregation. However, the ‘church directors’ did not agree with what the pastor since he now was supporting this movement and its effect on the church as a whole. The five board members did not believe this was from God nor were they going to condone any Charismatic doctrine to infiltrate their church. The five board members fired their pastor. He left Turlock to take a position as pastor of a church in the ‘Bay Area’ of California.

What happened next is a prime example of God’s judgment and the fulfillment of Scripture, “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of a living God.” All five board members died within the next six months. God does not take lightly criticism or injury to anyone doing His will, especially when it comes to the moving of the Holy Spirit. You go after God’s anointed (those with a fresh/new anointing and moving of the Holy Spirit) and God goes after you.

This next revival will carry with it God’s judgment, the likes we have never seen before. This revival will be more like a ‘two edged sword’ in performing God’s will (goodness and kindness) and God’s judgment (consequences for evil behavior).

Get ready for the ‘ride of your life’. Having the Holy Spirit in your life is like riding a bull for 8 seconds. It seems like an eternity but the thrill of those 8 seconds will forever change your life. Choose life not judgment; be a person of faith.
