Getting Lost

God is not always easy to find. In fact, He allows only those who show passion and determination to find Him. I can give you countless personal or Biblical stories to support this truth. “To come to Christ, one must come to Him in Spirit and Truth,” the Bible says.

I am reminded of the wise men in the story of Christ’s birth. Passion they had. Their determination moved them along. Yet, they got lost. The baby Jesus was not as easy to find as they originally thought. Who would come from western Asia, hundreds of miles away and on a 3-year journey only to get lost? God decided to hide the star, which they originally saw in the eastern sky. God went into hiding. God always says to me and you, “How badly do you want what I have to offer?”

Peter lost his way at Calvary—he could no longer find the Jesus whom he decided to follow 3 years earlier. Even though Jesus told him, “I have prayed for you Peter that your faith would not fail you.” He still got lost—Jesus saw it coming. I cannot tell you how many times I have had to pray this very prayer for my friends and family—for the ones who lost their way in their walk with Christ.

It is good to get lost! Only in getting lost can God save you. No matter how smart we think we are (the wise men) or how strong and determined we see ourselves (Peter) there will be circumstances or Satan, which will hinder us and cause us to lose our way.

I rather walk with the person who lost their way and God came looking for them. I rather be that person who made every effort to follow Christ only to realize that somehow I got lost. Even Jesus said, “Father, Father, why have you forsaken me?”

Yes, God does go into hiding. When He sees us doing His will and choosing Him—He will always ask us, “How badly do you want to follow Me and have what I have promised?

I rather be lost in Christ—the way is indeed narrow and hard to follow—but God will never leave me or forsake me. Jesus has shown me the way, for to me, He is the way!

The Best Christmas Present Ever

What would be the best Christmas present ever? We would often refer to that new car, trip to someplace new and warm, or even a new member of the family. I, however, will take forgiveness over any and all traditional Christmas gifts. To have a greater depth of forgiveness is my #1 request for any Christmas.

Forgiveness is not a right for believers nor does it always come easily. God has offered this gift through His Son but not every Christian claim this gift to the fullest. It is almost that we are comfortable without sin. Sin is in our lives but we believe we can still function with our sin—we can serve God and love our fellow human being while keeping our sin in and God’s gift of forgiveness out.

There is nothing greater than finding forgiveness and experiencing a clean life—a life free from guilt, dishonor, and consequences of our wrongdoings. Yet, for most Christians, forgiveness seems so far away. Nevertheless, I want this to be the best Christmas you have ever had so here are my suggestions for the perfect Christmas gift.

To enjoy and find forgiveness one has to experience and use what God has provided:

ü One cannot have forgiveness unless the Holy Spirit draws you. You must get around the moving of the Holy Spirit, where you feel Him moving inside you (a fire burning inside your heart) and outside of you (a wind blowing around you) all at the same time. This cannot happen unless you are where He is actively working! Find a church or special meeting where the Holy Spirit is manifested in the services. In the Presence of God, the Holy Spirit will bring you to Jesus and offer you forgiveness—this is what He does!

ü Pray in the Spirit. When we pray 30 to 45 minutes each day in the Spirit you will find the Holy Spirit guiding you into forgiveness. You will feel clean, whole and compete in Christ. Better yet, pray in the Spirit all the time—forgiveness 24/7!

ü David said, “The mercies of God are new each morning.” You have to choose forgiveness! We must be dependent on the mercies of God. The Holy Spirit will always find behaviors in our lives that need to be forgiven and need to be cleansed from our lives. We must choose/ask for mercy and find forgiveness each day, preferably every morning we awake—it’s time to be like David.

ü Lastly, “Blessed are the merciful for they will find mercy.” The depth of forgiveness that you will experience will directly depend on how much you forgive—the amount of passion and sincerity of forgiveness that you show others. Want forgiveness, then forgive (not judging others) who are honestly asking for forgiveness.

Want the best Christmas ever? Then begin with a depth of forgiveness you have never before experienced. It is time to ‘awake to forgiveness’ that goes beyond what you presently enjoy. This is indeed The Christmas Gift Jesus wants to give us!

Character of the Month Series

No one likes being a fool except those who love Jesus Christ. I take pleasure in being a “fool for Christ”; I enjoy the presence of God and worshipping Him.

Have you ever been in love with that ‘someone special’? It’s easy doing stupid and crazy things when you’re in love. You did not care if everyone sees your character or if you acted extremely silly—you’re in love. Love makes us all act very unusual.

It is only academia or staunch traditions that inhibit our foolish and childlike behavior toward the one we love. God is no exception to this truth. God wants us to be fools for Him. He wants us to be in love with Him in child-like responses to Him and with emotional outbursts of joy and seemingly disruptive acts of inappropriate behavior.

Yes, I stand and shout to the Lord. I lift my hand and clap loudly when the Spirit of God moves over me. I act foolishly when in the presence of the Lord. Even David danced in a crazy fashion and shouted to the Lord when the Ark of the Covenant was brought into Jerusalem. He forgot his kingship and became like a child in the presence of the Lord.

Criticism will come our way when we are fools for Christ; criticism will come from Christians and non-Christians alike. Nevertheless, I choose to be that fool who loves God with all my heart, soul, mind and strength. “Give me the foolishness of Christ or give me a life of nothingness and unimportance.” That is the choice before us. It is a choice of wisdom vs. ignorance—a choice of foolishness over cultural properness. For me, I rather be happy in the Lord—I am that fool.

Prophetic Announcements #2

This article came to me via Elijah’s List. I have never met Theresa Phillips but what she says is what the Holy Spirit has been talking to me about for some time and I believe it is timely and truthful. As I sat alone in my quiet corner, I begin to ponder about the reformation of Martin Luther. The courage that this man had, a determination in his soul and spirit, to see the Spirit of the living God awaken the suppressed Believer. As my mind became captivated by the very thought of reformation, I began to get a prophetic word. I saw an angelic being, male looking, who was at least 30 feet tall, maybe more. He was standing with a sword in his right hand and a white (surrender) flag in his left. He said his name was "Reformer".

Then, I heard him speak precisely, as if the sound of his voice was carrying across many waters. He was not God, but I knew in an instant, he was an angel of the Lord. I realized that the oceans were listening to the sound of the voice of this angel, and all of creation was responding. He is a high-ranking archangel.

I sat very still…still looking with my spirit, when the vision had an interruption. I saw a bird fly past this massive angel. The bird had the face of the dove, yet powerful like an eagle. He swooped past this tall archangel called Reformer. The angel bowed in reverence, and all of creation began to respond with reverence as well. My heart began to pound so hard that I thought it was going to burst out of my body.

The angel began to move swiftly, yet he did not touch the ground. The sword, however, was turned upside down toward the earth, and suddenly he shoved it into the ground. Wherever the sword touched in the earth, EVERYTHING became green and full of life. Flowers that never bloomed before began to bloom. Life had emerged where there had been none. The look was majestically spectacular!

The Church Will Be Reformed

Then, the angel spoke very clearly into the atmosphere. I began to understand the sound. He began to state his unique purpose here in the below. "The Church will be reformed. It’s going into reform school-mode. The Presbyterian Church is going to have a visitation. Many in the Catholic Church will begin to cry out ‘No, no, we want the ways of the Word.’ Yes, these two denominations will begin to start a movement. I have been assigned to do my part," said the angel. This time the angel was looking at me as he spoke. I began to tremble.

Then, I had another vision. I began to see leadership from all different denominations begin to come together and cry out for our Maker, Almighty. They said, "Almighty come teach us Your ways. For they are better than ours" (see Isaiah 55:8-9).

Still, enraptured by the vision that was being played out before me, I began to weep, "Could this possibly happen, Your Majesty?" I asked. "Is this real God? Will there really be a coming together? Will we cry out together?"

I could feel the tears coming down my face, red-hot tears. The angel moved. He had heard my cry. I could still feel him lingering. Suddenly, oh so suddenly, that presence that I love, the Holy Spirit, began to touch my back. I became very still and Holy Spirit, the Divine One of God, began to speak to me. By this time, I was undone by what I had just seen.

Call Upon My Name!

Holy Spirit said, "Theresa, write this clearly: tell the people the revival they long for will be a reformation of what was, what is, and what is yet to come. I am paying a visit to denominational hierarchies, and there will be a shift."

"There will be a crying aloud and sparing not (Isaiah 58:1). There will be a driving out of the demons out of our Father’s house (Mark 1:39). There will be altar calls for the Church to return to their first love (Revelation 2:4). There will be children once again turning to the house of the Lord and finding joy.

"For the end is not yet. I’ve told you this before. Now go tell My people to call upon My name (Jesus) while I am near (Isaiah 55:6). I have sent help. His name is Reformer; he has been sent by Me and will come and strike the earth within the next six months, and the Church will begin to cry out together and families will turn toward Me. I am bringing fresh holy conviction to rescue My people.

"I am looking for people to stand in the gap like Moses, Daniel, and Joseph. I will find them. There will be a release of many held captive around the world for My sake. I will take captive the enemies of the Cross. For many enemies will appear as if they have lost their minds, and yet the end is not so."

Manifest Me

For this reason, God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie (2 Thessalonians 2:11). "Can you see this already beginning?" I was asked.

He continued to speak, "I’m asking you to tell them that I’m giving the Church fresh opportunity. Remember the earth is groaning and longing for the manifestation of our Father’s sons. MANIFEST ME," says the Lord (Romans 8:19)!

"Now I say to you, there shall be a sign in the heavens; it will be called, "Thundersnow" and My voice will be recognized, and you shall be assigned to My people, and say I am on the move," says the Lord.

May God Bless us all as we obey the Lord’s command. I shall go forth and declare this Reformation OF THE CHURCH! Send that angel, Lord. Send him. Amen.

A Reformational Update

What’s in a song?

I have been waiting patiently for Christian Music to get on board with God’s Spirit of Reformational Thought and Inspiration. Not all Christen songs come from the heart of God nor does the Holy Spirit inspire the performance of every song. And definitely, I can safely say, “Not all songs that are sung by our music leaders are sung with the same temperament or anointing by the original intent and creation by the Spirit of Christ.”

Without inspirational music, any sort of reformation that God brings will never be complete without songs that are Holy Spirit birthed and sung. I can give you a list of songs that helped inspire every movement of the Holy Spirit. I even have some original songs that are sung by the original singers on records. Every time I listen to them the music moves me.

‘Reformational music’ will always move one to repentance, forgiveness, a change of character, and a cleansing of one’ spirit. Music should always bring us closer to God and be sung so God wants to show up for our services.

I recently listened to a song by Kim Walker-Smith, titled Love Has A Name. I am sure many of you have heard this song. Kim wrote this song and it is indeed inspired by the Holy Spirit. The only thing missing from the lyrics are the words, “Forgiveness has a name” and “Repentance has a name—Jesus”.

King David knew the importance of music that worships and praises God. He had singers singing 24/7 in the Temple of God. You, of course, knew that David found ‘great mercy” from God and in Jesus Christ. One cannot have any revival or reformation without finding great mercy. All our songs need to embrace this truth and be sung with repentance and mercy in ‘purpose of performance’.

We do not need to be ‘worked-up’ by our music leaders. They only need to choose to sing inspirational music that is anointed by the Holy Spirit. God will always show up if our purposes and lives are in-line with the Holy Spirit. Oh, how easy it is to get in a rut and try to program the Holy Spirit. We must repent of the error of our ways and find life in singing with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

I never want to attend a church service and return home without being changed by the Holy Spirit. Needless to say, this happens way too often. Wake up all you song leaders! It is time to honor Jesus Christ and sing like the Holy Spirit wants you to sing. It is time for more of…Love Has A Name. It is time for God’s Reformations!

Prophetic Announcements #1

2018 Year of our Lord

On November 5, 2017, as I lay in bed I heard the Lord speak to me:

“2018 will still be a year of opportunity for the Body of Christ. I have not lifted My favor off of you. The invitation I have extended to all of you that this can and will be a favorable year for My Church. Do not be consumed with disappointments, or what you imagined should have been. The enemy will come to distract you, but I have equipped you with a discerning spirit, which comes from my Spirit to see into the future, yes, a glorious future of what I can do if we put aside the pettiness that does not come from the throne room of my Presence. ‘Eye has not seen nor even ear has heard’ the glories that I have for all who follow hard after Me.”

“The water that flows out of your life comes from an unseen world and wherever it flows it will bring life. Whatever it touches will cause the desert to blossom again. This river is living and it pulsates with anointing. It quenches our thirst and gives those around us hope. When my Spirit is poured upon you, my words, thoughts and perspective on all things will be made known unto you. ‘Do not let your heart be trouble, if you believe in Me’, I will show you what I will do in the latter days. Beat your swords into plowshares; till your ground so that you may receive my engrafted thoughts. For the weapons that you have used have brought some results but they are not the best that I have to offer you. When my Spirit comes strongholds are broken, repentance unfolds, and life is produced. Let not your mind be captured so easily with the thoughts of this world. Enter into this year with the possibility of my abundant life. ‘For my light will shine in the darkness, and the darkness will not comprehend it’.”

Note: When I read this short word from the Lord, I was struck with the wording and sequence of phrases. I immediately realized that is was true and correct. Often God gives us a prophecy that is not only for us but for those we are responsible for. I believe this is not only for David but the Church as a whole. When you read this word, pay close attention to the wording and similarities this prophecy has with various verses in the Bible. God is speaking; let us respond to Him in spirit and truth.

Character of the Month Series

All my life I was encouraged and pushed along to take the next step, climb the ladder of personal success, or become a more influential person. I guess in some respects I achieved them all, but that is not who I really am or want to be.

There has always been a place in my heart to be ‘a nobody’. I like not being important or looked up too. I enjoy being a country boy with no reputation and no ambitious goals. I like the simple life and insignificant things around me.

I find myself now working on being ‘a nobody’. It is not easy switching gears—the world says to assert oneself, and yet I find that true personal peace and real self-confidence comes with my willingness in taking a backseat to everyone else.

You know, God is right. It is “the meek that inherits the earth”—that gets all that God has placed in this world that He made and is good. It makes no difference if I am rich or poor, free or in prison, young or old as long as I am a humble person.

If there is a character trait that is forgotten in today’s societies it is ‘humility and meekness’. I want to have ‘the forgot character’—the person that no one notices, the individual who wants no recognition, and the person who expects nothing in return.

For me, give me meekness or give me nothing. It is ‘the nothing that I am’ that truly makes me great. So, I am working on being ‘a nobody’. It is not boring and it’s the biggest challenge of my life. Indeed, this is the road less traveled—to attain to meekness.

When Darkness Prevails #6

Darkness tells us to walk; not to run

When darkness prevails we find ourselves walking and stubbing not running with Christ. The Bible tells us to “run with patience,” “to not run in vain”, or “run that you can attain the prize Christ has for you.” We need to run but darkness wants us to walk.

I injured my heel on my left foot a while ago. It made everything difficult to do. Try working on a working ranch, moving up and down hills, and carrying items with an injured foot, not easy. The Bible says, “Make straight paths for your feet.” Why, so you do not stumble and get injured. The Bible knows we must run in order to do God’s will.

David, when about to fight Goliath, ran to the top of the hill to fight the Philistine. He ran, why? Not that he liked to fight nor because he knew he would win, but because he saw Jesus on the top of the hill—he ran to Him and then fought Goliath.

We likewise run into the fight. Darkness knows that if you cannot run, move or carry the armor of God you will not be able to win over Satan’s plans or activities in this earth.

Satan wants you to have an injured heel. Satan injured Christ heel and Christ injured Satan’s head. The injured heel did not deter Christ from overpowering Satan’s domain (hell) nor Christ overcoming the power of death, hell, and sin.

We have the same hope in Christ. God has made a way for us not to stumble but if we get injured Christ’s death and resurrection over all darkness makes us victorious in Him.

So if you are thinking about taking it easy, do not be fooled by the darkness. We must always run into battle against evil. When we are injured and begin to walk, trying to be careful where we step, we are not looking up, but we are looking at the ground—this is what I was doing and it was depressing.

So I run! I run the race that Christ ran with this hope that I will finish this race of life, not walking across the finish line but running. I run in hope; not in despair, defeat, or with spiritual injury. I run looking up to the top of the hill where Christ is waiting for me—to fight with Him against darkness.

When Darkness Prevails #5

Darkness vs. Good Ground

The world talks about ‘character’. We all want to be with or work with people who have ‘character’. ‘Character’ is easily defined and comes in many sizes and forms. Every parent works on the character of his or her children, and we seem to never stop shaping our own character.

Christ says that character is in the soil. That is to say, one cannot grow plants in poor soil. Every farmer knows that any healthy plant or tree depends on its root system and every productive orchard or field must have good soil.

Darkness does not want you to grow spiritually or produce the fruits of the Spirit of God. Jesus said only about ¼ of all human ground that can be planted with the Words of God is good enough to support growth and adequate to produce fruit.

Since the Word of God does not change the only hope we have to change is our ground/soil if we want a larger yield of good works. How does one change one’s soil, that is, to change the character of a person so more of God can take root in our lives and yield fruit in large numbers?

Here is what Scriptures say: one learn to make commitments/promises and practice/work in keeping them; two, cultivate a good self-esteem focusing on having the ability to succeed not focusing on failure; three, learn and speak positively—resist the temptation of negative words and thoughts. These three things will change your soil for God’s words to become rooted in your life and to produce Fruits of the Spirit.

We need to learn to expect the best. To know that God knows and understands, and His promises make all things new. Do not accept what others say are negative or hurtful in regards to a full and productive life in Christ. I am who I am in Christ alone. It is not I who made who I am but it is Christ in me. I am able to do all things with Christ who lives in me. I am whole and healthy not by what others say or do to me but by every Word that comes from the mouth of God.

I showed signs and was medically tested for a condition that knows no cure and can be life-changing in many negative ways. A doctor told me, “Do not accept the sickness. Do not accept what is being told you. Resist the prognosis.” He was right. I should be expecting the goodness of God not what darkness has tried to bring on my life.

You know, it works in Christ. I should expect only good things in Christ and should be healthy because of what Christ has done for me. “I will not sleep, I will not be sick. I will be whole and healthy because of the Body and Blood of Christ. It is Christ alone—His life that has made me whole.” Praise be to God who does all thing well!

When Darkness Prevails #4

Hiding the darkness within

When darkness prevails it often does not show itself. Darkness likes to hide and it is only light that can expose and reveal darkness true intentions. The Bible has lots to say about ‘secret sins’, a topic I have written about in length but I am writing more about pure darkness and evil intentions that deter us from knowing what is right and wrong.

It is only the Holy Spirit that can discern such darkness. We judge things so incorrectly much of the time. No one likes to expose their dark sides unless it is to intimidate or confuse others. Satan goes around parading that he is an angel of light—just because something looks good does not mean it is good.

Whenever we cannot discern between good and evil darkness wins out. We must understand what is good and what is evil, our life in Christ depends on this very truth. That is why Proverbs was written and it is the foundation of wisdom.

Jesus had to be confronted with evil after the Holy Spirit landed on Him as a dove. The Holy Spirit is truth, light, and peace—these three characteristics are given to the Holy Spirit time and time again throughout Scripture and should be working in our lives.

The Holy Spirit wanted Jesus to be tempted by the devil, to come face to face with Satan so He (Jesus) would recognize Satan for who he is and also to recognize his tricks and deceptions. Satan is always a liar and uses lies to manipulate his will over your life.

Do not be surprised or enticed by kind words, smiles, soft kisses or beautiful appearances. These attributes Satan uses to confuse us and lure us into his darkness. It is only the Holy Spirit, not solely the Gospel of Christ that can show us and protect us from Satan’s dark ways.

It is not people’s words that I believe in, but I want to see their works and also what spirit they manifest. A judge sets over a courtroom looking for the truth. He is not fooled by appearances or words—he wants the truth. He judgments are based on actions and one’s character. God is not fooled either—God wants to know if we love. He says in Scripture (the Epistles of John), “When one keeps the commandments of His Son Jesus, you know that you love God and fellow humans.” Yes, we know the truth by the fruit it produces and darkness by the hidden dark deeds of evil. Let the Holy Spirit be your eyes!
